@carmine lily I know it's been said many times here, but to me, the fact that survey ships require crystal alone makes it unbalanced. It's a huge part of the game, the whole premise of this game is basically mining. Which you can't do without surveys. So essentially you need crystal to even acquire ore and gas in the first place. And if you want to acquire ore and gas faster? Well you need to upgrade surveys first, which need crystal. And then you also somehow need to save crystal for your interceptor? Oh and your shipyard will need a few hundred once you're 29-30. Also each drydock needs it.

@simple spear It's been many levels since i've had to upgrade a survey, I forgot that they need crystal. I've been looking at the fact that virtually every upgrade on every ship requires ore, plus every warehouse and vault and foundry and a number of techs (yes some of those need crystal too). I can't rely on the refinery at all for uncommons or rares so I really haven't had much use for my surveys outside of doing my daily mining missions and of course the slew of recent mining events, once those are done though it's back into the hanger for more useful ships. daily mining missions are more than enough to feed the refinery twice a day. You make good points, but in my experience the need for crystal seems to diminish over time where the need for ore and gas remains high. At least in my experience so far.
That may change at higher levels but I doubt i'll be getting there anytime soon.

Crystal is mostly a bottleneck if you are fed, sally, antares, intrepid plus research and some buildings (docks and shipyard notably)...it really adds up once you're in the 30+ club and fed
And @carmine lily the secondary uc upgrade costs remain at similar ratios for higher tier ships but are much higher for obvious reasons so crystal costs on intrepid are pretty damm high even as a secondary requirement

Occassionally I also hit the research solo event milestones, I combine it with when there's a daily/limited time one to maximize rewards

@rapid sky when you get to a certain level you can’t proceed (whether it be building or researching) without massive amounts of UC. Since the refinery is Fleet Command’s running joke on us players, the only way to get said UC is to purchase ridiculously expensive packs. I get it, the game needs to make money. I support that, but a week and a half worth of daily research leaderboard events is boring, lazy and wreaks of “a shameless money grab”. That’s my opinion, it’s fine if yours is different.

@river ingot the main complaint is from the people of higher level, it will take hundreds upon hundreds of hours of grinding to get the Franklin to the point that you can use it for the dailies. Just an FYI that you can do all three factions without hosing your main faction rep. For the factions you hate, kill traders. For the faction(s) you like, kill faction warships. If you do this you will end up slightly positive for the 1 or 2 factions you are positive with, and it doesnt really matter about the third.

@vital granite I think it depends on your level and ship strength. If I can complete each of the faction events in 2 trips, that is worth it. Expecially when compared with the 15-20 trips, eventually down to 10 trips, that the swarm event took me every day.

There are just a few lvl 37/38 hostiles to find and if you find some its in far systems with long warptime. There is no possibility to relocate the base sensvoll near that systems i need... wasting hours just for warp lol.....
I can kill only a few of these lvl 38/39 and get just few points for the event makes no sense as higher the hostile lvl gets the more unbalanced it is.... Furthermore, I would like to know where the meaning is that i still get kumari and vahklas blueprints from the boxes of lvl 38+ hostiles....

Wrong crew is irrelevant just about the worst reason I've heard for hitting someone. Hitting empty miners (those aren't over their protected cargo) just leads to chaos by reprisals and no one getting anything done. Yes it's annoying you have to wait or find a particular node. But it's fair and generally works on our server, thankfully. And if you're scanning everyone for the right/wrong crew then you're just wasting your own time.

I don't think it should justify a hit, but I think what he means by "wrong crew" is manipulating your mining rate to go slower when you could go faster.
So I am about to go into a 2 hour meeting. I see my gas node will zero in 1 hr 30 min. I throw an envoy on, recall my horizon, and move Stonn to captain and t'pring to non-cap bridge.
Now it will zero in 2 hr 45 min and I won't have an issue resetting it.
So I intentionally slowed down to keep the node in RoE and under my control

It happens all the time when you cant prove it, it is really only provable when the mat captain is on bridge but not captain. Just because you have an envoy on gas with out Tpring as cap doesn't always mean you are intentionally trying to go slow, it could be that you needed her protected cargo on data or a different mat mining (or mining 2 different gas)

Personally if I hold a node long term, when people come sniffing around I see if they want to borrow as long as I can get it back. For me it is more about security of having one not the mat volumes

@strange jackal it's in several 20+ systems within the territories - crystal = klingon, ore = romulan, gas = federation. There are four other systems between territories (2xL28, 2xL30) as well having either gas or crystal or a combination of one of the two with ore, they would need your miner to have 22 warp range tho

Who idea was it to dumb down the events. I'm lvl 27. Went from 6k points needed to only 3k today with half the rewards. Ppl need to stop complaining it was a easy events. Maybe if u made sure to have strong ships before upgrading your ops u wouldn't have a problem killing hostiles

The problem is players always complain about killing so many hostiles. The real problem is they don't upgrade there ships before there ops. Ive never had a problem with hostile events why because I made sure i have strong ships. An I haven't spent a penny on them I'm free to play

What is up with the lvl 14 ships mining the 3* materials? That just really makes me wish I could attack them, cause it's hard enough to keep a node as is. Then a lvl 14 comes along and you can't even get rid of them.

They are just using a different kind of strategy... doesnt make it wrong. Just not your preferred play style.
You just have to learn to adapt to it, as an individual or alliance. There is an easy fix

umm...the high levels can still hit me. all they did was shift the range upward, not really an improvment.

any of you able to breakdown exactly what the Prime crystal, gas and ore research actually do? So far, there is ZERO difference as to what is given. The only difference I can see is the $$$ missing from my bank account.

so in essence your basic 1750 use gives 2 sets of rolls instead of only 1 set as normal, and the 12000 batch gives 3 rolls instead of 2

-shrug- RNG be RNG'in? i dont have them myself, that is just what i understand it to be. the prime is supposed to effectively make the 1750 refine option give the output of the 12000, the 12000 give the output of the 75000, and the 75000 a bit more again

It doesnt change the RNG, if you ever did a triple roll for a rip off price it regularly would only drop common
The 12000 is the best most times and now you get 3 rolls, but doesn't mean you'll actually get any uncommon or rare and scopely dont publish the percentage breakdown of chances but clearly hugely in favour of uncommon
