the issue isn't per se, the rares, it is that the percentages of rare to uncommon in rewards and refinery seem to be out of whack with the requirements of rare to uncommon in building and ship upgrades

even in the solo battle for glory at level 28. In one segment you get 1r and 7 uc gas. That does not anywhere resemble the ratio of rare to uncommon you need in things like upgrading ships. When going from tier 4 -> 5 on a faction ship required zero rare materials and well over one thousand uncommon material, it just feels like things are a bit out of whack

Well, it works for me...
Had to spent 80 Mio. Trit today for a Saladin upgrade.
I needed all 80 Mio. to start the upgrade, but in fact I paid exactly the 34% less, like the research “Federation Ship Structure 5” promised.

There are two issues here which can be easily solved

First of all burst events should not contain rares only uncommon cause it’s for alliance and uncommon is useful for all

Move the rare rewards to leaderboard then everybody knows where to finish and split the leaderboards in matter of power not level and that will be enough

In fact rares as alliance reward is less useful for lower levels but I need it like air

The rares now allow them lower levels to stock up.. like me I'm 30 and about to need em. Even if you can't use them now, it's prep for your future... The volume of players who quit because of the UC/Rare wall is so so many. This way they have it now. It's a little frustrating but this generation can benefit from a little delayed gratification.

P.s. while I see and experience the UC/Rare wall since lvl19, I'm still waiting for the community to realize an even bigger paywall. Badges

Command badges are pay to win, the Spock ability for instance becomes heavily broken at R4, you will lose heavily against a player with the same ship but with this ability

400% defence for shield every round is easily 10K cancelling out much of your shield damage, a R3 Spock is only 2.5K say and is not a game changer

@low berry Yes rares are a better reward for lvl 28+ only and more suitable for leaderboard or bracket based solo events than a whole alliance reward, there is a range of players in most big alliances

Someone wiser than me pointed out that this game is really meant to be played without packs and is intended to be a long-run game. "Buying is for the impatient." Packs are your way out, a way to speed things up. Amusingly what I see now are newly minted LvL30 players with less than 100 pvp kills to their name and running around in faction ships with weak cadet officers of the bridge -- it's all costs vs benefits. This new "Call To Arms" event is BS. It is obviously setup for the 30+ crowd. Encouraging base raiding. Level hitting allowed by 31 on level 22-23 is seriously unfair while a poor level 22-23 can only hit down to level 20. Where's the parity? How does a level 23 even defend against a lvl 30? You can't period. We do not even have access to ships that might wound a level 30 so how does one defend against it? OH, I know; BUY shields... screw you Scopley!!!! I have an open ticket from Scopely in which they admit the vaults are broken. A user can hit your base over and over and with each hit, take from the vault. While only a few thousand, it should be zero and isn't. For example, your vault might have a limit of 70k, you only have 50k, with each hit the attacker gets 1 to 2k.

Would be nice to get % drop rates of each option within the loot table. I suppose I could do some excel formulas to figure it out but seems like a lot of work.

@rapid sky I reviewed my bonus refinery from last event (7/24-7/26). I pulled 6 times (there was a random reset so I got to pull early). I mostly pulled 3 batches (150k) but some double batch (24k). Pooling all g3 and evaluating % of each drop from the loot table at ops lvl 26, refinery lvl 26 I got the following chances of getting item: UC4 = 62%, UC10 = 19%, UC21 = 11%,R1 =4%, R5=3%, R10 =0. 1 batch is 2 pulls from loot table so I broke it down per loot item not per batch. Kind of a small sample size to really go off of, but may put in perspective why u still get bad results— because u mostly get 4 UC

I don’t think one is better than the other, u just have more pulls for more g3 at the triple. Results are still bad. Of course I would need a much larger sample size to truly validate that.

I did a batch of 3 150,000 3 gas and I got 26 uncommon. I did a batch of 12,000 of 3 crystal and got 33 uncommon. I did a batch of 12,000 ore and got 30 uncommon.

So i was think the 3 batch would get you a better result but it didn’t happen

I’m enthra klingon I get 1000-1200 points as that’s how much steel is held in each hostile. But in the l17 Klingon separatist give off 600 -650 steel but I only get 100-150 points. Any ideas. Is the hostile points also level dependent

You have about a 62% chance of getting the lowest pull from the loot table, and you can imagine the better drops go down significantly from there. so doing a single or double should be more determined on what amount of rss you have. I would recommend making sure you refine batches as much as you can during a bonus bc at least you don’t get common. Then replenish and go steady in regular refinery.

Normal refinery you have 9 chances, 3 rare 3 uncommon and 3 common per roll, bonus just increases odds in your favor because its down to 6 chances, 3 rare 3 uncommon

Refinery level only changes quantity, so even a 39 can go days with only getting common but they get more of it

I think the concern comes from the previous experience with standard mayflower etc, that you get to earn some free and then wait a ungodly time for it to occur again, yes scope eventually released the lego/d3/mayflower in faction store, but everyone felt after being to able to earn bp through the first event way back when that would continue over time but it just didn't for months unless you spent, so I guess people are itchy will it be same pattern with hijacked lol earn an annoying amount in an event then only through purchase for 6 months lol

what would be nice is if they added the Narda to the game and made it accessible to everyone.

And brought in the Borg. People say Borg would not be appropriate because of the time period. But the back story is the Narda was upgraded from a normal mining vessel using Borg technology. The story could be that the Borg detected their technology in the Alpha quadrant and go there to investigate. Therefore it is plausible.

I'm finally strong enough to take and hold a g3 node and i still hate it, I'd imagine it's caused many sub-26 players to give up completely as every single g3 system is camped out by lvl29+ with multiple miners out. I hated mining events when all they meant is bubble for 3 days and give up doing faction dailies, and still hate them now.

It sucks hard enough that everything is gated behind refinery cooldowns, without also making it hard to get mats for the refinery.
