@halcyon briar I didn’t notice improvements to rewards in the event store but maybe something there I wasn’t paying too close attention. But what you say makes makes sense and explains why the total token amount doesn’t change as the event difficulty increases.

I actually intended to hold off completing OPS22 but here I go playing before coffee and like some silly monkey I go "GREEN = PUSH".
I noticed that the event tiers went from 600k to 2.2m but the rewards are the same?
I thought atleast things like trit and such would go up but it's still 300k for me, can anyone else confirm difficulty goes up but rewards do not?

Same here going from 21 to 22. Requirements have increased but the event shop offers are entirely the same. Hoped atleast for some increase in Tritanium to compensate that I need to smash my ship into NPC's four times as much now for the same thing.

if thats the intent then maybe they could state as much true maybe not all events are meant to be participated in but I suspect they actually want people to take part as this drives activity which is healthy for the game. Personally I used this time for tiering some ships up , the time isnt lost but as I couldnt take part I may as well do something else

@ashen pawn it's not about driving activity, it's 100% about driving sales. It promotes the "if I just bought this pack I could..." thought process.

At 27 with decent ships(payflower excluded) the event is a drag but doable with speed ups/latinum, if my ships were juuuust a little better it would be a breeze.

Hell I even finish it with a little extra trit each time after buying a 1mil token with rewards, leaving me enough tokens to buy 3x7uc ore towards ops 28

agreed they want to drive sales that its about driving sale's, but server health surely needs players, you need a mix of those that pay those that are selective, and those that are f2p, the tiers of rewards should again scale by capability so that f2p can play and get rewards but they just dont get the same rewards that someone that pays a lot gets. This would encourage players to play no matter what type which means more activity which in the whole is better for the servers. Myself I refuse to pay £200 for a ship I do buy the elite packs etc... but for me the price of the ship alone before upgrades just isnt worth it. Not for a mobile game.

Scopely has their head up their ass: event event success only if you have no job and spend money; April fools event only if you spend money to get nominal rewards; refinery back down to generating zero of the uncommon rss you need the most of. Getting real hard to stay motivated to login and play, much less spend any money once I get there. Watching reruns of I Love Lucy is becoming more challenging and entertaining.

Love the event and believe they should have one every day. I found it boosted my teams happiness as they enjoyed getting rewarded having an events store released the frustration of getting certain items from mining or parts needed. Please, call it whatever battle you want. But my group loved it and looked forward to it completely every day. Once it was done they counted down to the next one. Great job

As with all events, this one works better for some then for others. Having a tier5 north start that needs leveling, this event is absolutely perfect for me and yields me 1,7 mio tritanium net plus every day.

The boss event is of course a different story. We killed one boss with our ally in a team effort, it required more than 50ships in the 100k to 180k range. Therefore on our server lesss than 10 people take part in it every day but well, I gute ignore that it exists and all is good.

@round spear cooldowns were imposed on officers, blueprints and rare/uc resources, store is open until 6th so any you have left can be converted to ship parts or base res which don't have cooldowns

The solo part of this event has been great. Loot chests from the new hostiles are wonderful and I’m pretty sure that they are sticking around long after the event is done. My big question is how long the Faction Reputation event is going to last. That thing has been a god sent.

I think I'll consume all my EBT by getting

all Rares I can from now, on,
all BPs for 3 faction ships (not NS) I can from now on,
and 3 Harrison picks, enough to unlock him.

I have plenty of options to spend the EBT, notwithstanding that I earned as much as 185k (and could have been more)
I was:

complaining that the cooldown prevents me to spend them all on a single kind of Item
wondering, what if I forget to spend them before store shutdown, will there be the chance of spending them elsewhere in the future?

BTW, I figure the different picks Limit which triggers the cooldown was set to prevent spending >7200 in one go on the same Item, so 3 for Rares, 2 for BPs. and 1 for Officers.

All this (pick limits and cooldowns) would have been better made clearer and public upfront, before having to discover it the hard way, I'd have planned my participation in the Event and use of the Store differently.
Or maybe they were, and I wasn't pointed out to the right place 😕

I've spent 21.6k event credits over the past three days and I've got 15 North Star bp from it. Now, today that same amount of credits will get me 35 NS bp. Ugh. I only needed 35 to begin with.

@twilit imp just as a note this tripple event finally mate it worth doing, I now can make enough in the rewards to cover the repair costs of the grinding npcs. Going forward in an event like this perhaps make the NPCS not drop parasteel that way we can get enough dil or maybe even trit to help offset the repair bills?

as reported above by DarthDumbass for NS blueprints as well,
the "Family Offer" items they added yesterday to complement the normal offers so far, should be one-off items.
I can confirm that I got the 10x Rare G3 Gas item for 15K EBT, and it didn't go on cooldown, it just disappeared from Store.
Whilst the original 3x Rare G3 Gas item I had bought earlier yesterday for 2160 EBT, it's still there with its cooldown counting down.

Re: availability clock, all items say now 03d 10h, so the deadline should have been pushed back one day, expiring sunday nite (midnight UK) instead of Saturday

I'll go checking the announcements as well

You are misleading, and /or you are misreading LC question.

The announcements say the store will close on Saturday.
Since the announcement, the deadline has been postoponed to Sunday.
Since the announcement, new items with more units at a higher cost got added.
By a few users here testing them, those new items are one-off.
So they'll still be there till the Store is Open, but you can only get one such item (for each kind)

PS: I see that while I typed (in work pauses), you had made things clear betweene yourselves.
Oh well, I have already written all this, posting it the same, consider it a summary

its not the boss event it works for its the solo points events , which you get points for damaging elites or bosses , its basically a fast way to get to 2.5m , i do it with my valk and complete it in like 5 hits

Harrison is very powerful for certain tasks. I've also gotten lots of uncommon, 6 ultra recruit chests, and rares to teir my Northstar. This event has had far more rewards than any previous ones

7 repairs cost maybe 300k Tri in return i got 1 million trit, 1m Parsteeal and 200k Dil ....well worth the repair cost

so add up the 3 days i did of it , i made about 3m Trit, 3 M parsteel and about 2m Dil , adding in the bonus round totals another 3m parsteel, 2m trit and like 1m dil

At level 24 you can buy common 3*. Those vanish at 25 and instead you get D3, legionary and mayflower together with John Harrison

Though i am semi-thankful that the update was fked up to make scoopley give us an extra day of event ... i still think its a joke, ONLY on the extra day do the low levels get a chance of crew (im talking about people under lvl17) and the triple points only allows you to unlock 2 out of the 3 on offer .... many other players (the higher level players) had multiple days to unlock crew.👏

I agree @dim moon however I wonder whether they've worked out a formula that doesn't result in either everybody hiding and shielding up for the duration or one in which alliances can't organise some friendly, limited pvp. The one and only pvp event was hilarious. On my server we designated a pvp system where you put your weakest ships out, with as few crew as possible, other alliances did the same, and so we all destroyed each others realtas and forts costing peanuts, whilst scoring enough to work through the milestones.

@dim moon I remember the PvP event distinctly. It was by far the worst event they have ever done. Now what I am confused by, does your server not go into murder, death, kill mode during these mining events? Mine sure does. Mining events are an organized PvP effort to try to make sure no one reaches the solo milestones.

Listen, you are on a lightly populated low level server...I am not. Every day is a PvP event for me. If I leave my shield down for more than 10 minutes, I get a visit (I am always below warehouse). I am lucky if one of my miners is left alone for several hours. When they implement server transfers, transfer to a real server and you’ll see how miserable this game can get.

Best rss to mine is tritanium. You earn 3 points per bit, more than 2 rss. Di is 5 points but too slow to mine. 3 rss is a battle just to get on the node.

Use your envoys and make sure Kabish is captain of your best one. You may not get top prize but you should get close.

@gusty rose last mining event was working . When you hit a miners and site in spot for at least 5 second all rss you get from him counting in event. But not all ships or player works on them

So are there actually that many miners that are over protected cargo at a given moment? Most of the people I scan are pretty diligent about keeping their miners below protected (for 2* rss anyway). Your definition of mining sounds great, as long as there are cargo holds to extract from. 😛 @dim moon

Every alliance on my server that's decided they want to play pirate and destroy whatever empty miner is in their way has eventually dissolved under the pressure of everyone considering them kill on sight. We had one large pirate guild when the server was new that slowly broke down due to no one else being willing to deal with their shit long term, and constantly had their ships and bases wrecked. There's been a couple that have tried since then and get quickly slapped down. Over protected limit and zero nodes are valid targets, scatter shot without scanning is not and most people decide they don't like being killed non-stop and leave for alliances that are willing to follow those rules. "I do what I wants!" rarely make it into the 20s

It's not just a matter of pvp though, it's when it crosses a line into being a deliberate nuisance that disrupts other people's ability to play other aspects of the game that it becomes frustrating. People want to be able to participate in the pve events for 5 consecutive minutes without having their empty miners attacked, and groups like yours disrupt that which is why there's such low tolerance for them

@dim moon more pvp events would be great, but I think should only be implemented when certain bugs preventing pvp are eradicated..such as the invincible station bug, or the god planet Zevis, in Atreig. These prevent fair play when it come to pvp on stations, have you noticed that bug on our server?

The thing I find really annoying and upsetting with these mining events is that they only singlely cater for people who spend lots and lots of money. Which I know is scoplys tactic but it has no stretch for the free to play people on the server. On my server. 131 we are always dominated by the same 10 alliances who take over all of the 3* nodes on the server which means we never ever get into the top10. Now one big reward is t’ping. Some one who will be highly benificial to a l19 who now needs to start mining for upgrades but I’ll never nor my allience get the award because of the Whales on the server who take it all of them selves. It’s infuriating and these events which we try to win we never have a hope in hell because of the high alliances always get the prizes. Prizes that they at their level don’t even need. For obvious reason Iv blanked the allience I’m in as I don’t want any retort from the big boys from playing a game I try to enjoy playing.

IMHO GhengisClam should play however he wants but that also means we can do the same. For example, I am not in an alliance because of the drama, politics, etc. So I fly solo and have my own rules. Don’t mess with me and I won’t mess with you. Last night a player in an alliance thought it would be funny to target my miners. Now normally, you hit one of mine, although most people alert me if I’m on a zero or fat because they know me, but this guy thought he was being cute. So 25+ miners from his alliance throughout the galaxy were gone in the next 30 minutes with my almost tier 8 Sally.The cries of why did I do that came. I told them simply what happened. They responded with the ROE. I told them I’m not in an alliance so don’t follow those rules. Mine are simple, don’t attack me and I won’t attack you. Being former Army I don’t do well with intimidation or provocation.

So my wife and I were watching the most recent GiantBomb (another great CBSi property) video and the question came up of community laundromats in some apartment complexs. The question was, how do you handle coming back to find your wet clothes in the dryer, on the table, maybe tossed on the floor and how to retaliate to the people who would do something like that. The older folks immediately flipped it and talked about how annoying it is to be on a tight time schedule and you come in and all of the washers full, several just sitting idle and unsupervised. And then what to do in this situation. As they started discussing this my wife gasped and looked at me and said “holy crap, your are literally playing a laundromat simulator”

LOL. This mining event has mostly halted my mining, because my ship simply gets jumped before it even gets 1/4 of its protected cargo space filled. This has happened about 5 times in the last 24 hours. When I do mine, I send it back to the barn every 30 minutes. If I have to be away from the game for any period of time, I just bring everybody home.

To gain point during the mining event obviously you need to mine but do you need to be mining 3 star materials to stand a chance of doing well in the event? Why I ask this is because it’s quicker to mine 2 star materials but you only get 2 points but 10 points for G3 materials, so due to the fast speeds for G3 mining dose it work out about the same amount of points per hour?

Just use kbish as your captain and mine tritanium. It has worked for me so far. I will be done with the event soon. And I only went to trit because it’s rare that someone comes and destroy you and on my server g2 noses are full and g3 nodes can’t even hold on to them because the whales hog them the whole event or kick you off it if they see you.

Nice I’m barely lvl 20, but I understand what you mean. I completed a past mining event that only gave you point for ore, gas and crystal and I literally had to spend the whole event mining, even had to spend the last hours of the event at night sending my miner back and forth. It was very annoying but I really wanted the PS token lol

It was very pvp oriented server, until most of our old players quit... Now it's a mining simulator waiting to die..

Even our main pirate alliance had to start mining, it was weird to see xD

The top alliances organized a council of sorts, to try and keep ppl engaged, we stopped raiding bases when there is alliance event active... No empty miner hits.. it doesn't help, ppl are still leaving... And big boys even when they can, have noone to raid...

@shut glade Race to 20 will be back eventually if you stay below ops 21 and still have buildings you can upgrade to 20 (unless they change the rules). I play fairly slow and I've seen at least two (probably more) Race to 20 events since level 10.

Is there anymore info out about the refining special? It says at the top '1 day only' does it mean the special will only run for 1 day, giving us 2 x 10 hr refines? The last refining special ran for a bit longer.

@shut glade Not 100% sure. Around every month and a bit or so, I think. But if it stays the same you don't have to hold off on Ops 20. For the last one, players already on Ops 20 could complete it by upgrading any single building to level 20. That was actually the easier option because the event was shorter than the build time for Ops 20.
I can't promise it'll be the same but I'm in the same boat. All my buildings are level 19 and once I've finished some more research I'll upgrade to 20 (don't go to 21), keep one building at 19 and keep my fingers crossed until the event returns or I get fed up waiting.

Ops to 20 has been round twice, roughly a month apart. I sat on a ready to collect ops 20, taking a gamble that the event would repeat. Managed to get top reward within minutes of the event going live following that process.

Hi, could somebody look up in the "mega miner special" event ranking how many people collected over 2.4 Million event points? On our server, only 60 players seem to have completed their solo event (2.4 million points for (24 peeps). I'm very interested how many mega miners there are in other galaxies.

So the bonus Refinery will start in 8 hours accordin to the cooldown clock (6pm EU / 5pm UK)
And it says "1 day only!" in the box titles.
What's maybe implicit but not necessarily obvious :
Will it have the usual 10h cooldown as well?
Last time around it did (March 22-24, I could use the bonus Refinery 7 times).

"1 day" means 24h, so we'll have the chance to use the Bonus Refinery 3 times if we're ready to it?
Or does it mean "Monday April 8" only, so startin at 6pm it will effectively be a 1-off chance, as when the 10h cooldown will pass, the "Day" will be over?

Just so that i can plan the usage of the collected materials and normal refinery

I'll try to make the reason behind my question clearer.

As I posted elsewhere (displayed mining rate for NS much lower than the measured one)
my combined mining rate for my best 4 miners (T9 NS, T4 Antares, T7 & T6 Horizons)
is around 30k/h

Actual one is much lower, due to travel times to/from base (to drop full and/or unprotected cargo), forgetting miners ondepleted mines, finding free nodes, combat disturbances, sleep, ...
In the almost 66h passed in the Mega Miner event, I got 12,188,830 pts mining G3 only §, so 1,218,883 materials mined
This makes an actual mining yield of ~ 18.5k/h for all 3 materials combined,
around 60% of the "on mine" potential, after taking away all "wastes and logistics"

I have atm 153k Ore, 121.5k Gas, 165k Cry
Except for Gas where I need 30k more, I'm already set to convert 3 batches (150k) when the Bonus Refinery will open at 6pm.
The point is, if the bonus will remain open for 24h as common sense would tell,
to exploit it fully I sohuld provide 300k more of each material in the next 30h before it closes
Whereas at 18.5k/h (provided I can keep that up) I'd only get 550k in total..
So I can only get the 2nd 150k batch for all 3 =450k. In the 3rd conversions I'll have to "content" of 3* 24k batches = 72k. 30k would go for the missing Gas for first conversion.

So if we get to put in 3 Bonus conversions,
at my best actual mining capacity I should barely manage to get 2* 150k batches + 1* 24k batch, for each of the 3 G3 materials.
meaning also I'll have to suspend normal refining till this Bonus window is over.

Much different (and more relaxed 😉 ) would have been if the bonus had been a 1-off chance.
(of course even if it requires more efforts, I'm glad if we have 3 chances for rare/uc bonus)

Hoping these insights have been somewhat interesting for at least someone 😁

PS: § and I'm not even the leader :o
in my 138 server top reward will be taken by one who mined 1.4M materials so far (assuming G3 only) compared to my 1.2M

the game badly needs player v player action.system battles please. a system would have battle attribute nodes where ships can be placed prior to attacking. possibly turn based. be great for alliance multi player battles. a lot of tweaks would be required but im sure you get the gist of the idea

You can gamble trying to blow 24k for 2 crates, but means that you used up a lot of ore 2 chances that you would have gotten the same way just doing 2 seperate tries.

Yeah this totally broken, I am hostile to FEd so I can’t get any event points for PVP at all , but I will be targeted for points no mater what. It does not make any sense. I only get points for mining gas. Good luck won’t be able to mine anything.

I have to say, the gas mining event is just a taunt by Scopely, they know there are not enough G3 netural mines, and they refuse to add Gas to faction stores (non Fed)

Have a kill event going on where 2/3 of the galaxy does not understand why 1/3 went berserk over a mining event.
