1. That ip your hiding is the gatway's ip, not yours
2. I'm pretty sure all of the gateways have ipv4 as well, and it may be required by the customer

I've seen the daffodil gateway running ipv6 before, but it is still mostly ipv4

if you want to see the ipv4 for the server, do ping -4 <server name>

a few days ago i couldnt get lotus gateway but i got it after ending task on the sgs client that was running on the undesired one then once the sgs with the correct gateway starts up after a bit I click retry on the degraded salad

but im not sure about your case tho

thats the method I use when i get a undesired gateway/a dead jobless one

Any tips for Bandwidhth sharing to maximize my earnings and what are gateways ? Can they help for extra earnings ?

Tips:

• Use Ethernet, not WiFi (if possible)
• Leave the device on for as long as you can, longer is better. Leaving it on for longer does not guarantee higher earnings, but you're more likely to catch a good "bandwidth job" if you device is on for longer
• It may take a long time to get bandwidth sharing for the first time, that is normal

Also try to get a new IP if you can if you suspect you haven't gotten bandwidth sharing in weeks or even months all the sudden

From my experience IP address seems to be a bigger factor than internet speed uptime and everything else

But obviously it could be different, idk

The saladbowl service restarts every time you switch users anyways and runs libresheit along with it

Though salad probably won't do anything about it since most of salads userbase doesn't have multiple users on their computer

As for how to enable it, it's enabled by default, but you can make sure by going into the Performance tab > Configure hardware > Let Salad choose workloads automatically

Im pretty sure that sgs-client has never started for me ever sense my country got support for it (over half a year ago)
The app says that bandwith sharing is enabled, but l dont see sgs-client in my processes. I got 1gb fiber optic so l should have more priority over slower users. I also keep my computer on 24/7.
Is the only way to "enable" it by disabling and enabling gpu, because it hasn't worked for me so far.

Enabling/disable GPU has nothing to do with enabling/disabling Bandwidth Sharing

The best way to do that is probably by looking through your bandwidth sharing logs at C:\ProgramData\Salad\logs in one of the Bandwidth-SGS-... folders, then opening the most recent log file, then Ctrl+F searching for bidirthroughput. That'll be how much data has been shared bidirectionally, in bits.

salad is the only app where you can either get sgs client (bandwidth sharing) before librespeed even finishes the speedtest, or never see it again if at all

(and yes, sgs client can start before librespeed even finishes testing or even starts)

(which i find weird, do they not take into account the lastest speedtest)

anyone else on the "galbraith curse"

no matter how much times sgs client is restarted/ended, it will always start up with one of the galbraiths each time, and once you end sgs client enough times it gets to a point where sgs client doesnt start again, but once you click retry on the degraded error sgs client starts again, however its once again on one of the galbraiths and its a cycle

(and before anyone goes on me for "omg you cant be killing sgs that much it cant be good", i dont think im harming anything. All four gateways are completely flat jobless and theres nothing to lose. And i kinda gave up anyways)

I've recently started running bandwidth sharing after a while of not using salad. it made a decent 84c the first day, but for the last 2 days it's made me about 5 - 10c a day and I'm on gigabit. I know the pay fluctuates but that's pretty ridiculous surely something is up.

pay is determined strictly by the demand. if the demand is low, earnings are low. if the demand is high, earnings are high. they can change minute by minute. bandwidth sharing is basically a streaming VPN
