Which of the following describes the link between the nervous and musculoskeletal system? (There may be more than one answer)

  • The nervous system is dependent on the musculoskeletal system for information to process data regarding the external environment
  • The musculoskeletal system provides feedback information which aids in the control and response of the musculoskeletal system to nervous system control
  • The nervous system contains specialized processing centers for the control of skeletal muscle
  • The musculoskeletal system cannot respond to electrical stimulus, thus depending on the nervous system for control

A is false. We have a whole chunk of cortex dedicated to sensory stimuli
B seems true, since there are sensors inside your muscles that tells you how tense/location/etc ur muscle is. They will send a signal to the nervous system.
C is true. There is a whole chunk of the cerebral cortex dedicated to motor movements, and there r also many motor neurons in the spinal cord.
D is false. Altho much of the system uses chemical signals, one can directly activate the tissue with electrical stimulation. Think smth like a pace maker
