Hello guys, I am the developer of the AI-Player mod, presenting a brand new WIP mod, very alpha at the moment, Alternating Redstone!
It creates an alternate version (inspired and modeled after real AC, Alternating Current, with proper amplitude, frequency and phase angle values) of the vanilla redstone which I have classified as "DC" (Direct Current) redstone.
AC redstone can travel upto 1000 nodes (wire length) without losing signal strength by default but it can be modified via a server config.
Current blocks and items in the game:
- The inverter: Takes in vanilla redstone, outputs AC redstone with fluctuating, unstable amplitude, but still usable.
- The oscillator: Acts as an upgrade to the inverter, which has 4 modes, LOW, BASE, FAST and TURBO, to set the amplitude of the AC redstone without any fluctuation. Can be controlled via the PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) item.
- The rectifier: takes in input AC redstone, outputs vanilla redstone, whose signal strength depends on the input AC redstone's amplitude.
- The hybrid dynamo: can support, and takes in DC/AC redstone, outputs FE (Fabric Energy) which is implemented via TeamReborn's FE API, making it compatible with most big tech mods, like in the videoe example I used the electric motor from create: crafts and additions.
- The cooler: To be placed on top of a water source block, actively cools the dynamo, otherwise (in single source AC/DC mode) temp will rise slowly but surely and eventually the dynamo will overheat and explode, to give a damaged dynamo, which can be repaired via an anvil with 5 gold ingots (WIP). In double source mode the cooler is even more important as the dynamo will overheat really fast and explode. The explosion is non-structural but deals damage to entities.
Expect a first release by end of April with more to come! Current assets of dynamo and cooler and items are placeholders in the video.
