A mod that would let players seamlessly switch into a sort of creative planning mode within their survival world — but without actually changing anything in the survival world itself.

Here’s how it would ideally work: • You hit a hotkey and it puts you into a creative “ghost mode” where you can build freely and experiment. • None of the blocks you place or remove in this mode affect your actual survival world — it’s more like a temporary overlay or simulation. • You can toggle this mode on/off at any time. • When you’re done, an in-game book (or some sort of UI) generates a list of all the blocks you used in your design. • The mod also shows a preview of your changes (either in a holographic overlay or some sort of visual guide) so you can build it block-by-block in survival, following your plan.

This would be insanely helpful for base planning, redstone layouts, or any complex builds where you want to visualize the final product before committing resources on a survival world.

Would any modders be interested in tackling this?

axiom has some similar ghost mode stuff, but litematica works for the rest. though axiom also has schematic features, they're not previewing and stuff

i need something more seemless something i can just pop on and pop off with a hotkey, i reached out to the current dev of lite and they deleted the post lol

my guess, youd have to make a script thatd document what blocks you place at what coordinates, itd then use that doc to give you a book with the needed supplies and show you transparent blocks you can walk through which disables with a hotkey

If you don't have enough resources it won't build or copy or stack etc

I think the main issue with survival building is just reach and planning
