Posting this here since I got no response in #server-admin-support. If this is the wrong channel then tell me where to send this.

I kinda need help. I've got a small server for me and 3 of my friends. Sometimes, out of nowhere, I get console spam which I can't decipher (I'll send the log). It doesn't affect the players or game in any noticeable way, I can't intentionally reproduce the console spam, and it even happens when nobody is online. I've tried removing as many mods as possible to find the specific mod, but I wasn't able to.

I'm running the server on Oracle's free tier with 4 ARM cores and 24gb of ram, 12 of which are allocated to the server with Aikar's flags. Could that be the problem?

Here is the shortened mod list where the error is still appearing:

the packet thats failing is the one used for logins, status queries, and player transfer

make sure your server is using a whitelist
ideally use a custom port rather than the default 25565 port
there shouldnt be any issue here. someone is likely sending invalid packets to the server

Connectivity may help you see what may be sending it, but otherwise i would just ignore it

yeah, looks like somebody is either trying to troll you, annoy you, or dos you (and is failing with that)

might also be someone scanning for servers

why would they scan the same server multiple times?

why be specific about what you are scanning? just scan an ip range

don't think this is the case since its present on a test server with a different port on the same ip, and goes away when i remove roughly half of the (correct) mods
