I just had idea

Some sort of crystals you can mine to either upgrade your magic or you can create a set of armor that is weak on its own but when used with magic can boost your stats

Or maybe a crystal armor or craft with the crystal which gives different upgrades and powers depending on which ones you use

i think it would fit mod more that the bigger or stronger magic you use the stronger the buffs

but maybe like a magic set, a strength set, and a protection set would work
