If I were doing that i’d probably figure out how the chat UI is brought up (what functions control it popping up automatically when a new message is sent and the manual input method) and mixin into those functions to disable the functionality until whenever you want

So the chat is still functional, can receive messages, etc the UI just can’t be brought up until you want it to be possible
