#Help with ReplayMod

Not really a mod request but I need some help learning ReplayMod, specifically the editing bits after the replay has been made.

I can't find anything of what I need online anywhere, not Google, YouTube, or various forums. If this isn't the place for this then I would love if someone could direct me to the best place to ask.

The things I'm trying to learn are:

  • stitching 2+ replays together that were recorded in the same world, either in the mod, or in a video editing software (smoothly somehow, I have no clue how that could possibly work well but it's all I can think of, and they say it can't be done in the mod but that was 3 years ago and I haven't found anything updated, if there even is anything updated at all.)

  • just editing in general in a video software after the replay itself is finished like a normal video (I have absolutely no experience with this).

Really all I want is someone to link me with an already existing in-depth guide or tutorial cause I just can't find one myself.

Like at this point I don't even care if it's extremely low quality as long as it teaches me something. I would be very grateful :)

Slicedlime has a great tutorial series on replaymod that includes him editing it in post. The series is old but most still applies, (except the stuff he complains about when it comes to cubic interpolation is no longer an issue because replaymod uses catmull-rom interpolation by default now so don't worry about that)

#

although it differs based on the editing software, the general logic is still there

#

To sync up the video and audio (because you cant export replaymod files with ingame audio) i record the ingame playback of the replaymod shot i want to export. Then i put that obs recording on a second video track above my replaymod recording's video track, and then i set the obs recording to be slightly transparent so that i can match both videos to be perfectly in sync with each other, to which I then delete the video part of the obs recording and just keep its audio

#

Not sure what you mean by "stitching 2+ replays together", that should be pretty self-explanatory in an editing software, not sure how or why you'd do that ingame

#

if you could elaborate on "smoothly" that would be helpful!

#

this is a test shot i made for a vid im working on, integrating replaymod isnt too difficult to get a handle on. im pretty new to editing myself, as well as new to replaymod

Ohhhh thanks! I'm subbed to slicedlime even and never once saw a playlist that that long anywhere, best I found was 3 videos long each 10 minutes xD
I'll make sure to watch em all

I sorta meant so it looks like 1 long continous replay instead of it being obvious that it's made of multiple

or another example if got a 3 hour session and I relog on the world or server a couple times between 10 minutes, out of the 40 minute timelapse I'm going for I wouldn't want 2 or 3 obvious cuts in just a few (in video) seconds apart yk
