I've made an axolotl taming mod request before (thanks ramgames for axoamigos)
Now i'm here to request an axolotl armour mod, to be paired with the axolotl taming mod!
They should be dyeable like wolf armour but should simply reduce damage taken instead of invulnerability like wolf armour, since there's no creepers in the ocean and axolotls can already play dead.
Unsure about how you'd craft it, maybe nautilus shells? looking for suggestions :)

I do have experience with skin making but im not too sure if thatll translate well to texture making
I'll happily make the mod if you can get a working texture lol
only problem is idk how to format the texture png, I usually work on pmc but thats for the texture of the mob itself

Yeah, I think that's what wolf armor does
Wolf armor also renders a "cracked" level which I assume is a visual indicator of how damaged the armor is

post the template one on github when its done pls, make sure to include a placeholder texture and make sure everything works and stuff. then ill start making hte texture

It uses the turtle scute as particle so that's what I named the armor matieral

if it's functional now and all it needs is the textures post on github, I'll start working on texturing
Textures should go under resources/textures/item/axolotl_armor for the item model
For the armor model it should be resources/textures/entity/entity/axolotl/axolotl_armor (no cracks), resources/textures/entity/axolotl/axolotl_armor_crackiness_low (low cracks), resources/textures/entity/axolotl/axolotl_armor_crackiness_medium (medium cracks), and resources/textures/entity/axolotl/axolotl_armor_crackiness_high (high cracks)
They should all be png files
Is this compatible with my axolotls api tho?

Painting over the axolotl then erasing the axolotl part should work
I put in the blue axolotl as a placeholder
