#Regional creeper griefing

I think you could use worldedit
open parties and claims you can claim areas and set creeper griefing in those claimed areas
I need it to be a circle, is that possible?

b
make a circle-like shape from claiming chunks, ez
cries
Might have a try at this today. What version of Minecraft?
1.20.1
Oh right it’s you again haha
@maiden hawk the game mechanics are working now. You can set a block to be the center of the circle and a radius for the circle. Within that circle, no blocks are destroyed by creeper explosions. Outside that circle the blocks are destroyed, even if the creeper exploded inside the circle.
How should one be able to set up those circles? Commands? A file? Something else?
I was just imagining a config yeah
worldgaurd?
@maiden hawk I implemented the config now. I think all that’s left is implementing the needed customizability and then it’s ready for the first release
Unfortunately I have little time over the next two days, so it’s not unlikely that it will take some time
@maiden hawk first version released on GitHub and awaiting review on Modrinth. Will add more features if the mod is successful

ty!
could you add compat with convenient mobgriefing, as in it overrides convenient mobgriefing's anti creeper grief?
convenient mobgrieving isnt even available for 1.20.1 on modrinth though
yeah it is mate, wym?
Ah I didn’t spot that
The mod works as expected as far as I can see, what do you expect to happen differently?
I basically want it to make creepers grief in the regions I've selected even if mobgriefing from convenient mobgriefing is set to false
Tbh I think the experience for the user is better if my mod doesn’t override, so I’m not really inclined to put that in my mod. Maybe you can request an addon or something
but
if someone wanted for it not to override why would they be using the mod in the first place
it would do nothing otherwise
It overrides enabled mobgriefing
So creepers don’t destroy blocks even when mobgrief is enabled
But if they turn off all forms of mobgriefing though the convenient mobgriefing mod, why would they specifically want creepers to still destroy blocks?
It just wouldn’t be convenient if my mod was overriding the other mod
because of the other griefs included in mobgriefing
there would be no point to install both this and convenient mobgriefing at the same time if it did not override
That’s assuming mobgriefing is always turned off
Maybe this works more like you expected
Just noticed that’s only forge though
Why would you even request a mod that’s supposed to override another without specifically asking for that
i forgot lol
the mod would have no effect and thus no purpose if mob griefing was turned off, which is why I think it should override. it would only be helpful for everyone installing the mod, because there would be no point to having it if mob griefing was off.
Well yeah. I wouldn’t expect someone to download anti-creeper if they have mob griefing turned off anyway
If they only turn off mobgriefing sometimes then anti creeper is useful because it allows them to specifically disable creepers
But there’s gonna be barely anyone who downloads anti creeper to enable creepers when having mob griefing turned off
There’s gonna be way more that want to turn off mobgriefing (conveniently) without having to turn it off through anti creeper as well
It would make more sense for you to request an addon for convenient mobgriefing that exempts certain mobs from being affected by the mod
so the only usecase for not making it override would be if someone was turning mobgriefing on and off repeatedly? i feel like that's even more niche, and plus it can just be disabled alongside turning mobgriefing on
