I need this mod to be updated to 1.19.4 as I like to use formatting codes
(This should be easy to update)

I'm confused, do formatting codes not work anymore?
they've never gone away, but they are ignored in almost all ingame user input
you can currently only use them in things like lang files, resource pack names, etc
Ah, ingame. I see
The section sign formatting is a legacy formatting, and Mojang has been slowly removing it
It compatible and can be used in many places
This mod is a must have occasionally, especially when I want to make books and signs look better than just plain black text
One funny thing about this mod is sadly you can’t use it in any chat message
But otherwise it works just fine
Mojang is replacing it in favour of formatting with json, but than only with commands you can do that
I think that you can make a mod that changes the nbt sent when writing a book to save it with color, but some servers will def not like that, well, they will prob not like section sign too so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
the section sign does make it easy to write colored text, and I think this is why it was made, but as mokang removes support for it it can become harder to make it work on vanilla servers
Not the same thing but https://modrinth.com/mod/stendhal can do some of what you want
Legacy formatting was a thing since MC classic
Through originally it used & symbol instead (which was later adopted by bukkit)
Back then (and until like 1.7 I think) game didn't have an alternative
I will definitely look at that
Still though I would optimally want someone to update this
Fixed GitHub link
It should be somewhat easy to update to 1.19.4 unlike other mods like Colormatic
