@ancient trench Hello, thanks for reporting. Could you please provide your PC specs. Also all logs from %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/unbeGames/Rocket Science would be very helpfull
Core 19-13900K, 32GB DDR5, RTX4080 Super running Win11. OS running from Firecuda SSD and game running from WD Black SSD.
If you want more about the specs, let me know ๐
Interesting, logs actually contains almost no useful info. Hm. Could you please try to switch game to v0.22 branch and see if it change anything? And before you do that could you try to change surface level of detail to low or high and see if it makes any difference (you'll need to restart the game after that). And please try the same with the graphics settings (I want to understand CPU or GPU is the problem).
I thought I had something as these settings allowed me to get all the way to 'Hmm' button after building the second stage, but not on a second go ... but I have reduced everything to a minimum. I am going to try a new save in case there is some corruption (these have all been the same save) and then I will try the other branch.
It just crashed out with a new save right at the beginning just following the left alt - mouse wheel section, but no visible unity error. I tried exiting the tutorial but it crashed while just adding/removing items in the assembly shop. I found the crash dump for this one which you are welcome to look at?! I will try the other branch
All crashes seems to happen in the assembly shop. I turned up everything to max and it was fine through the first section and I managed a launch to 'landing' without any issue. It crashed as soon as I re-entered the assembly shop. Only one slight difference is the unity error code is different since using v0.22
I have now had a crash while looking around the solar system, but they certainly happen more quickly in the assembly shop
Thanks for trying out! All right, the only thing I can do is to try to update Unity to the latest version after the release of v0.24.0. And give you to try it out in a separate branch with the additional logging enabled. But I will able to do it in a month. because I am fully concentrated on finishing the update right now. So I suggest you to refund the game for now, if you able to.
This crashes reminds me the crashes in PoE2. It is releated to some combo of Nvidia drivers and Win 11
I can only hope that Unity somehow dealt with it.
Thanks for looking so hard! One point there ... I should try updating my NVidia drivers as I just looked and they are a little out of date.I won't refund as I want the game built (and I am sure a future Unity update will sort it out). Happy to wait a month or two and very happy to be a guinea pig if you need it ๐
Just for your information, after updating drivers, I managed to get through to the second tutorial launch and finished that. It did crash again while reading the next tutorial section about the control room, but while the slightly increased stability might be a coincidence, it does suggest drivers. Good luck with 0.24
Good to know, thank you! I will ping you, when the build with updated version will be ready.
