#Vertical rotation

Hi!
I have faced this problem several times; once I attach something to the rocket it is hard to place it vertically because the attachment mechanisms just attach it horizontally. It would be nice if you could rotate something from horizontal to vertical once attached.

Other things I also thought that can be improved:

  • An option for solar panels only to fix at the sun (i.e. (anti-) target) while the rocket can face anywhere; you could be almost out of electricity especially when in orbit at far-away planets. However, sometimes you have to do a burn because the timing is right. Currently the whole rocket must either point at the sun (target or anti-target) which is frustrating when in need of a burn

  • Better vector showcasing in the build-mode; currently, the vectors are really large (on scale would be nice to get an overview of the forces). In addition, I recommend to add Centre of Pressure as well which helps to determine the aerodynamic stability of the rocket.

  • Engine cooling systems would be really nice; I have noticed we have radiator panels which is really cool but they do not seem to be working. At least if I put them on the lower ends of the fuel tank or even at the engine they don't seem to cool down the engine (realistically radiator panels are placed at the lower ends of the fuel tank)

Hey, thanks for feedback! You can rotate parts right now if you switch to rotate mode (R), unless I misunderstand something. As for other points, solar panels that can partially track sun are planned. Better vectors noted. As for last point, radiators are working but they are too weak to dissipate that enormous amount of heat that engines produce. So yes, better cooling systems are needed.

So the rotate mode only works in three dimensions if it is not attached, once it is attached it only works on one axis (green axis, seems horizontal)
Thanks for noting though!

Yeah, currently only the Y axis is supported for attached parts. I'll probably add one more axis at some point at least for some attachment types (for example so you can change angle of wings relative to the plane)
