demos are snippet of a current build or whatever build they choose. they just have to lock of portions of the game so you dont get full access. it takes a little time, but its not hard to do

You are right about the cutting off the small playable area from the full game, but that itself takes a much more time than you think, then there is optimization and poslishing, those two are among the last stages in EVERY game ANYONE develops, and yes you have to commit serious time and resources to accomplish this. Any game developer will tell you the same.

yes but that doesn't mean put a tree over the road so you cannot progress further, it means deleting everyhing around it so a) the demo doesn't have 100 gigs and b) it doesn't look suspicious at the same time

It also annoys me that you can't hit an enemy by shooting at him through a metal fence. Nevertheless, I keep my fingers crossed for this production and hope that it will work properly on consoles. So far, the gameplay is very atmospheric, but not perfect.
