jester, just saw your new nlc7 clip. So what exactly does that build change as far as gun/ bullet travel/ damage mechanics. It looks proper.
looks really good.
the ballistic properties just copy real life more: identical muzzle velocity to real life, accuracy is much closer to real world weapon performance, damage is only dependent on caliber and is much more authentic as well
I also tweaked it a bit to be even better, so for example FMJ does a bit more tissue damage than AP while AP penetrates more
recoil is also way more authentic and better animated in NLC as you can see

Anomaly is a standalone freeplay mod. It has its own storylines. Nothing like the original trilogy.

make sure to first extract the files and then put them in the gamedata folder by the way, i've seen happen that winrar (or maybe if you use something else) gives a error and only puts like 80% of the files in the gamedata folder.

if it still doesnt work attempt to download call of chernobyl again in a different place and only install AO and see if it works, could be that its other files that cause the game to crash that aren't compatible with ao

you know Jester as I watch your NLC7 uploads, not only I love the weapon animations, and graphical changes such as wind blowing across grass in waves, but major improvements geographically.
I have seen the area around Chernobyl in Pripyat and Belarus on google maps and in tons of videos. Now nlc 7 really looks very close to real life. especially in ivankov district part 2.

I went back to the pg29q , Jester. As soon as I went to play multiplayer bf4, I realized that overdrive ( 4ms ) mode just sucks, all glitched out. That's the problem. If I need to play competetive, it's no good.
can't use overdrive mode without it all glitched out its just not right in that overdrive mode. Acer didn't really perfect that mode yet. not on a 4k monitor.
stalker still looks great in 2k with photorealistic 2.

The ghosting/ pursuit camera test, try it in fullscreen on every color on the problematic overdrive mode, look for things like black trailing on the ufos
there is a brand new issue i am trying to troubleshoot first.

I don’t know if anyone has played the mod Call of Chernobyl, does anyone know how to get a controller working with it. Tried Steam big picture mode but when launching the mod it ignores all programs which try to enable a controller. I know many will say it’s dumb to use a controller but any help would be appreciated.

it is a mod that is only for vanilla CoP and nothing else and it's highly incompatible
so it's kind of useless except for people playing CoP for the first time

@midnight osprey It's no freeplay, it's a 100+ hour story driven mod and let me give you some examples of its quest design:
The quest to retrieve Nimble's flash drive and optionally rescue him from Bandit captivity in the Cordon. This quest exists in SoC and can play out similarly; you can go in shooting and rescue Nimble just like in SoC. Or you can do it passively by telling Petruha that there are too many of them, and him and Wolf then come up with a plan for you to go in unarmed and unarmored. You must drop your backpack and unequip everything and they'll then talk to you. They'll ask you to retrieve some PDA in Darkscape (which will introduce you to rogue members of the Hunter faction guarding the Cordon -> Darkscape entrance; they require a mutant body part for you to pass through to Darkscape).
Once you get the PDA and return it to the Bandits, they'll actually let you and Nimble go, but the impact of this choice doesn't end here. At the entrance to the Garbage, you will again see Bandits holding up Yurik like in SoC, trying to mug him, but you can go talk to them. Normally they will demand I believe two first level artifacts to let Yurik go free, but if you solved the Nimble captivity quest passively, they will only request one artifact, and in exchange they will give you a southern Garbage -> Dark Valley transition which lets you bypass the military at the normal entrance.
Bypassing the military in Dark Valley is great, since killing them has serious repurcussion as explained in a notice/flyer posted in the rookie village; killing the Dark Valley soldier commander will make Major Kuznetsov hate you and never deal with you again, but he can make numerous quests so much easier plus he can trade with you and let you pass through the Cordon bridge checkpoint (eventually, if you help him out continuously he'll let you pass for free).
The consequences of this quest don't even end here: in Red Forest, you can come across a group of Bandits who will simply open fire on you unless you've solved this quest with Nimble peacefully and approach unarmed, and you can do a quest for them that rewards you with a very high tier artifact.
It's also one of only two story driven games of this length I've played that is consistently good throughout, the other being Morrowind (not even Arcanum is this consistent)
basically every main quest has more ways to approach them and more consequences than most RPGs even

There are lots of mods built on the 64-bit engines (though X-Ray Oxygen is very incomplete)
OGSR x64 engine has mods such as OGSR and New Arsenal 6, Open X-Ray has mods like Dollchan 7 and Back to the Roots

in 4k , cs must be played at LOW settings to acheive playable frames. they jump so much. game is the worst optimized of all 3 i read eh ?

The killers in CS are morning hours and MSAA alpha testing
yeah its not bad 4k in all low but anything higher is bad
4k all low fps jumps 35-144 lol
but stays most over 100 and feels over 100
maximum feels like 30fps
i like how low shuts off most of those killers for you
but honestly I have been trying maximum vs low to see how much of a difference it is, and in 4k , is does not look like much of a difference low vs max.

you notice the performance when you turn the camera . its not so much studder its just the screen is not moving as smoothly as soc turning camera
but its totally playable at low 4k

Hey yo. Uh how in gods name do I machine translate a mod
You take the original files located in gamedata/config/text/language_name, you copy the Language_name folder and rename it to your language, then you translate everything, and finally, you specify the language name in localization.ltx where it says "rus/anything"

If you dont have a gamedata folder, you need to unpack the gamefiles first using most popular resource editing tools - some mods cant be opened, most allow for editing

I have messed up my damage settings on a personal mod I am learning with...army guys shoot me as normal and I get killed in about 7-10 bullets, but my own bullets are very weak - with all weapons. i reloaded an older save and i was able to enter yantar without crashing. i read somewhere on a reddit post someone said it could have to do with too many auto saves corrupting your main save . if you dont keep deleting those extra saves.

yeah they piled up and i did not even realize it
the save is not too far back. its just before I joined the loners and helped them win their faction war. but there is no telling if it will do it again once I try to enter Yantar again when it is time to go for the mission there. So I will just have to wing it and pray it does not happen again.

welp. With some problematic hard crashes I made it all the way through. Worth it.
now to confirm this is the setup we talked about right , for cop Gunslinger + Atmosfear + Absolute Nature + Absolute Structures for CoP

gunslinger isn't a bad choice but its not finished
and it has a lot of out of memory crashes
due to being very intensive
stcop 3.2 is a better choice
those out of memory crashes in cop are unavoidable even for high end pcs right
no gunslinger + graphical mods causes them

its highly incompatible due to being an injector based mod rather than just loose files
like atmosphere + gunslinger together

and have to do weird hacky merges to get it to work
sounds like a headache. I had just atmosphere by itself running the last time I tried cop and the only crash I had was fast traveling from that ship to jupiter, which i never was able to figure out. hopefully I dont run into that problem again.

Im looking for some advice from someone with more experience when it comes to adding my own custom wep models into clearsky (i have already been searching around google) but im not exactly sure what version of sdk to use for clearsky and hope someone could point me in the right direction.
also when/after adding a new wep would it be better to start a new game or should it be fine to load up a previous save (iv noticed afew posts on having to restart when when adding in certain mods).

performance in cop is very impressive even with that mod setup daizen 4k maximum all is good 100fps. i am sure it will not be the same in populated areas.

which mods have you already played and which ones you liked?
I have played CoC (with addons) mostly
which is a polite way of saying "maybe leave it for your second or third choice, after playing essentials"
What would you define as "essentials"
Don't hold my opinion for anything other than subjective point of view - the fact is most of the STALKER mods are essentially a remix of the main experience, but in my book a good mod would always introduce either: 1) new locations / enemies / storyline or 2) new gameplay mechanics that are actually fun and add to the pace of the main gameplay instead of detracting and distracting you from it.
In that regard, I somewhat enjoyed OLR, LA (questionable plotline development and absolute bonkers last third of the story - "The Room"-tier insane) and recently almost completed SGM 2.2 for STALKER COP (which adds loads of side-quests, new detectors / detector upgrades / artifact upgrade... it also has several infuriatingly annoying game mechanics, like marker-free quest item fetching and some equipment arbitrarily getting removed from your inventory with no clear in-game explanation).

@graceful badge running Anomaly 1.5.0 on a laptop with i5 8250U, 8Gb shared RAM(4gb system, 4gb VRAM) with radeon 520 hybrid with 2gb dedicated VRAM and I run it in DX8 for 60fps and smooth running client - in DX10+ some location may break your game if your GPU isnt powerful enough as shadows and other particles may just overflow and the render just stops refreshing the display so its like frozen display but game runs with sound and input.
so go into dx8 and gradually climb up the settings. Also I suggest you to join the anomaly discord bc u will have a lot of questions, I guarantee you

As soon as the blowout alarm turns on, crash.
I already disabled psi storm and fallout in the atmosfear.fx ini. I thought that was it. Low and below another alarm and boom.
