technically the monitor being closer to your face won't perma dmg your vision. However, it will strain the heck out of your eyes, and if you play everyday, then your vision will be worse until you let them rest

however, that's heavily debated. but what I can tell you, is that rubbing your eyes will slowly over time perma dmg your eyes.

Basically, what allow you to view the world is the light coming in and gets displayed as a screen. if you rub your eyes alot you can cause the shape to become distorted (or you could be born with irregular shaped eyes). this causes that display to not be directly on the eye, and its like viewing it from afar
