honestly, the game is incredibly easy. Due to the fact that bullets actually go where you aim them, so long as your aiming is not terrible you should just breeze through everything

the only difficult mutants to kill, are difficult because they are boolet sponges, where you just need 1-2 thermite grenades, for example the pseudo giant
chimera is not that much harder either, you can very easily walk around a tree if you have to, and they are not that common anyways, tho they do soak up alot of boolets

but the game is still easy, my changes certainly made the game easier in terms of progression, but im a hoarder and collect everything and never use anything anyways
Though, I would suggest to people that they play the game how they want, and based on how others will judge them for how they enjoy their own game :)!

yeah, I changed all the drop rates on NPC's. So that they have more like 25% chances to drop basic stuff, and with increasing rank they have slightly higher chances of dropping stuff, with more items in their pool to drop. so it's all 100% random, You could find someone with nothing, or you could find someone with a good amount of gear, just all depends on the rolls

or you may have an aritfact in your inventory, that gives off passive radiation should it not be in a container, or you may have eaten something that gives radiation

You've just run through somewhere rad friendly and got irradiated, drink water or vodka to fix that issue.
I suggest investing into a gas-mask/Suit with a gas mask so you can wonder around freely without getting neutered by rads.

So all gravity anomalies are fair game, shock sometimes. Anything that you can maneuver without actually taking armor dmg
this is mostly due to the fact that in the base game artifacts are worth literally nothing
and the amount of money you spend fixing armor from getting them is next to 0

for that last playthrough, (though i had my heavilly modded stuff), what I did was start out as a loner, and went to merc base after paying off mercs to leave me alone to join them, and base always in bar
at the back of the bar, so that im central in the zone to do quests, etc. move around. that and it's the best looking area to live in

personally I run around with a knife half the time in anomaly, so I can't say I understand what's punishing about it
get a scoped weapon = game unlocks
better to just grind out the southern areas, get some basic gear, and avoid situations that you are not either prepared for / skilled enough to handle
have to remember, that you don't exactly have to kill / fight those dogs, you can just as easily go by them, wait for them etc.

take the vest and dogs won't even do you any damage lol. also the best gun to use against mutants is a good old Remmy with slugs
watch out for pseudo dogs though those guys are very very harsh when they hit you
can you skin animals in anomaly with a hunting backpack instead of a knife tho?
the best weapon to use for mutants is a shotgun, best for armored targets (humans) is a Sniper rifle or an AEK with AP Rounds
it will just rip it's way through them and send them into Oblivion

Never the less, how I did it.. It was just jobs jobs jobs on Cordon until I saved up on one of the variations of Sunrise.. After that I ventured off to butcher in garbage where I bought a Semi-Auto shotgun.. (Has cheap ammo and lots of damage, especially slugs)
As one wise stalker once said.. Always be prepared for trouble! And when the trouble shows.. Aim for the head!
As for dogs.. Fight them on even surfices.. Wait for them to run up and line up ez head-shots.
