Both Xbox and PlayStation have KB+M support, but that doesnt mean that S2 is less likely to be dumbed down.
However, I'd love if they went all out and said that S2 is best experienced on PC and console with KB+M, I'd respect GSC a lot for that that.

the 14 buttons argument is also kind of weak though. Yeah it's 14 buttons but you can also hold any of them to make it a different input, or press them in combination with the triggers also making some buttons up. There's plenty for really most of the games, unless it's a flight sim or something

I played PC games since my childhood. I got a ps4 just a year ago since I didn't wanna waste money on components anymore and the transition was quite fast... Played a bit of destiny and warframe and now I'm literally better at aiming with controller than with mouse since I don't use it that much anymore

IIRC the dude behin A-Life returned to GSC and they've now gotten a system they're comfortable with calling A-Life 2.0 in S2. Maybe one day we'll see a new iteration of the X-Ray engine, but for now UE4 seems to be their engine of choice moving forward.

same, it changes a ton though so its quite difficult to port over but maybe eventually
it's not hard to port gunslinger. but you need to do it by yourself - check FAQ channel on anomaly discord

I want to remind you who worked on X-Ray 2.0, and who developed Survarium engine basing on XRay 2.0 branch.
Tbh, the same thing as with Metro 2033 - XRay as base, later total conversion. It's easier to take stuff which you made as base for another game, instead of spending another years of developing something whats going to be literally the same.
Simple, we can just wait for Survarium leak to get more proofs - maybe Iassenev will say something? Models in Survarium looks veeeeery simillar to S2 ones, interesting why GWcorbinTopKek
Not saying "wooo bad vostok stole s2" - it's actually a good thing, finally a proper X-Ray fork, with quite interesting features.
Also, as i mentioned metro - it's worth to continue this topic. First builds was using assets from stalker, maybe only DoF was different - bloom still fked up, tonemapping as well. Later they fixed it. Mr. GSC was veeery mad because they took (their) xray engine as base. Who cares anyways, Metro 2033 was 1000 times better than shoc/cs/cop.

The problem I have with open-worlds is generally how empty they feel. Sure they might have cities and buildings and whatnot but they feel just empty, like people gone into hiding instead of actually living there.

Yes. This is a concern of mine too. On the other hand a post apocalyptic wasteland should be empty certain way. And I hope they will release expansion packs opening access to buildings and new areas...

I think they are meaning within the scope of their own games, but you know the way I see it we're going to get full access to the forests and byways that separate all of the map chunks, giving us more to explore and see.
