You can also become faction allies by killing enough of their opponents
Which is why if you kill a monolith for long enough you'll be either neutral or ally to most factions
Usually you want to go back and fort between liamnsk and yanovs train storage which are places you'll always find swarms of monoliths or a bunch of patrols
The real issue honestly is carrying all the guns or parts of guns and suits you'll dissasemble
Also loots like broken detectors/flashlights/etc

In anomaly you get to dismantle guns but to actually repair them you need an expensive af toolkit (if you plan on replacing more than one part) and you need to buy tools to repair the individual parts
Thank god they removed the need of a barrel switching kit which was a one-time use item that went for like 40k
I like how anomaly handles that part of gun repair but really needs to increase the number of uses you can give tools

I had a hell of a lot of their suits, and sold quite alot of them for somewhere around 600k so I could do some mass repairs, buy some extra food/drinks supplies etc.
the real money is in artifacts for me, idk if you have seen the artifacts sell for more mod
but idk, 1 artifact for 2k is pretty stupid for me

you would have to check your factions relations tab in the PDA. as each game is different based on whatever happened in your game
there are some hard locks though, like how monolith are always at war with everyone
