going around the railroad is the worst option, you have to deal with pretty high radiation if you don't step exactly where you have to, deal with dogs, boars, maybe fleshes

Honestly I think the easiest and most profitable way is to just shoot 'em dead. It's a quick upgrade to your equipement and you can get some money rather than loose by paying him. Also you don't risk getting KFC'd by those pesky anomalies in the tunnel.

Just some basic tips:

Press E or Q to look around corners
When looting a corpse, you can right-click on their weapons and press unload, then you can take their ammo
You can crouch with Control, crouch even lower with Control+Shift. This will also increase your accuracy
In case you're in an anomaly field, press O to equip your artifact detector
To avoid walking into an anomaly, press 6 to equip your bolt. If your bolt triggers an anomaly, it's not safe to walk there. If the bolt triggers nothing, the path is safe

for example if you have 4 batteries on you, you'll have 120% electricity protection and standing in an electro anomaly will slowly repair your suit

my favorite thing in ShoC is that you don't need a detector for artifact hunting

they just lay there, ready to be picked up

How do you guys think about factions?
This is my standpoint on Duty and Freedom

Duty: They see the zone as an unpredictable and dangerous thing. We've all seen anomalies and dangerous mutants. I think they see it like this. Anything that is unpredictable and dangerous enought can serve a threat to humanity and is not worth the risk so it needs to be destroyed.

Freedom: They see the Zone as an organism. They either don't see the risk or don't think there is any. They think the zone should be more understood and can help the development of mankind with things like research and artifacts. Because of that they think it should be preserved.

If missed something or I had something wrong, let me know. But personally I stick with duty. Maybe some of you can tell what you think of other factions aside from duty or freedom?
