Yah CoP is piss easy, like others said CS and SoC were harder but not because the games in itself were harder but mostly due to bugs or really questionable gameplay decisions

Metro's universe is devoid of humans on the surface, while STALKER has a normal working world outside the Zone, so there's a disconnect between the two series there.

Maybe it could be, but GSC did try to sue the Metro devs for stealing assets, so I don't think there was that much comaraderie between the two studios.

Yeah, there was such a case. Also Andriy Prokhorov as well as other A4 founders left GSC due to wages quarrel, so yeah, I don't think these two studios partiularly like each other.

But besides that, original Metro indeed used some assets from SoC. There's at least one case I remember of: a texture of a mosaic from Khreshchatyk metro station (Kiev) used in Turgenievskaya station in Metro 2033 and somewhere in SoC (probably Agroprom, but Im not sure)

Sounds like your monitor calibration is just way off

Clear Sky calibrated to proper in-game gamma on a calibrated display is bright during the day, but damn near pitch black at night

I've just tried my old CRT monitor i had put away for almost 10 years.
I had this idea that the CRT monitors looked like poop, and that's why i switched to LCD, but after coming back to it (and it isn't a great monitor either) i've been blown away by the perfect contrast this display has, Black are truly blacks and colors are as bright as you want them to be.
Tried SoC with it, beautiful, the textures on the environment looked phenomenal, the flashlight felt so real the way it illuminated the darkness. and for some reason being this a far too smaller of a screen, i've managed to do an insane amount of headshots.
When i came back to the LCD, everything looked kinda grey and the aiming was horrible.

alyx is a prequel set during (or after, not sure) the 7 hour war
where the combine starts building the citadel in c17
and its also a sequel and i think it continues some of the events of episode 2
cause it has time travel

So, i've entered Lab X-19. It was fairly illuminated and pretty much quiet at first. Reached the interrupter and hit it, passed out, flashbacks and then waked up to a bunch of Monoliths basterds.

Managed to get back outside, a battlefield between Militarist and Monoliths. Escaped among the bullets, Barkeep told me about some group of Stalkers waiting for me somewhere, came across a battle between Duty and Freedom, Freedom won.

I'm at misery right now, my suit is destroyed, i have no med kit whatsoever, and i'm surrounded by the damned forest.

in radar, while going towards the sarcophagus, you first go thru a monolith checkpoint as soon as you enter radar, then once you're done with that, you go down the slope leading from the checkpoint towards another hill

all you have to do is jump about the moment they face you, since that's pretty much all they do, and not let it get close enough to melee you

you can usually get in all of your loaded shotgun blasts before it faces you again

Snorks just jump around and have a very weird hitbox so avoiding their hits is hard

Cats because they don't do much damage upfront but you will die from bloodloss
