As such, nature/The Zone has taken back the area from the humans. All of a sudden, people come to the Zone who kill the fauna out of fear or because they walked into their territory. If you want to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC multiple times, I suggest playing it Without Mods at first. If you are only planning on playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC once, I suggest you to download OGSR, just like Saint Jester said.

So I figured that taking on the whole Bandit base in CoP would be hard, since 15 or so bandits linger around there.
I had to think of a strat to reduce the numbers of people I must fight after I decide to save Mitay.
So what do I do to lower the amount of bandits while staying neutral to their faction/group? Lure mutants in and let them eat them alive!
In my case, I led a pack of 6 dogs+ 2 pseudo dogs with me and let them kill as many off.
I went from around 15 to 9 after that, 14 without the hostage.
The only problem after that was the fact that 4/8 were in the room with the hostage.
Regardless, saved me medkits and ammo.

Anyone know how to get Owl and/or Hawaiian to sell me the other variants to SUSAT and PSO scopes?
Not sure of the name of them, though they have Red, green, blue, and yellow variants.

Hawaiian: Red PSO is only obtainable with the Friend of Duty achievement. The Double Blue SUSAT is only obtainable with the Friend of Freedom achievement. The other scopes will be unlocked as well, the further you progress with their quests
But I doubt you'd like that, seeing you're a Merc, I assume you wish to stay neutral.
Owl: In that case, try to achievement the One of Ours or the Boss achievement. Other than that, other missions around Zaton would also help

@lyric forge You can't have Strider unless you help one of the Factions. I would suggest giving Morgan's PDA to either Duty or Freedom and then ask for the Monolithians to join their faction

As long as you do not shoot the Faction you work against, you will be Neutral towards your enemy
However, if you shoot, for example, Duty when you side with Freedom, they will become hostile when you get the "Friend of Freedom" achievement
