You cannot explore after the point of no return, it becomes a pretty linear segment no matter what story path ending you're on

Understood, well sounds like a fun challenge. Any chance GSC will do a fallout 3 dlc type continuation where you hit a point of no return but still can explore after so without expanding the story? I hated that this was done with Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully they’ll consider something like a NG+
The dreaded point is at the apex of all you've done. You can EASILY walk away from it and then return when you're ready.
But what happens after said point is, well. No return.

Guys - First of all, greethings: Secondly, I am having an issue where I started a new game at master difficulty and after the cutscene in the slag heap where you first meet Korshunov and Daalin I have to speak to Richter as part of the 'Back To The Slag Heap' main quest. Problem is Richter won't speak to me. I have tried shoving him around, I have tried getting the developer console working (no luck), I have tried reloading saves, sleeping days on end, letting emissions past, travelling to other regions and coming back etc. Nothing works. Does anyone have any advice on fixing this issue in 2026?

Hello i have an issue with the quest " Hot on the trail " i spoke to the guard i show him my pass, i go through the tunnel and the game crash with error 0x000000000000, somebody have the same issue ?
if you are playing vanilla (i.e. no mods) and loading an earlier save doesn't work, consider submitting a ticket to #s2-support
How do I survive the assault on duga on the ward path? I get to where I'm holding the check point and then am supposed to escape and it's just impossible to get past all the phantoms
If it’s phantom projections, you can counter them with Psi-block. Try using that.

Does the Malechite hub get bugged out or something later in the game? I'm playing in a "free roam" kind of mode now having completed the game but with a save prior to the point of no return. I wanted to check out the old Brain Scorcher site as I hadn't investigated it yet, but after using a guide to fast travel all the exits are locked? Is this because the Ward no longer like me because I sided with Spark?
Yeah you might be hostile to ecologists/ward depending on your story choices, but either way try the secret entrance through the pipe in that anomaly-filled basin just to the east right there in the compound, the one you have a conversion with Scar in. Have seen some players reporting that entry as still being locked, don't understand why would be the case I don't think you're necessarily supposed to be able to lose the hub entirely the way you could potentially with Zalissya
I'm definitely hostile to Ward. The base west of Zalissya is red to me after escaping in the story. I'll try the sewer entrace again, I fast travelled to Rostok and am almost at the X site for the Scorcher now :).
I have access to Malachite (all doors open) on Spark route on current patch; I had access to Malachite (secret door only) on Ward path (both vanilla after Visions of Truth)
Huh curious, I'll try accessing the base from the exterior with the passkey. I'm running vanilla 1.8 also.
Is it normal for there to be a bazillion Poltergeists at the Scorcher? Looks like there was a big A Life fight off screen because there are like a dozen Poltergeist corpses and a bunch of dead ward exos.
poltergeist spawns in scorcher is very normal
So Malechite is still locked to me. The Ward NPC directly outside is friendly, but the patrols are hostile. I have the passkey on me also.
if your save is right before Point of No Return, you should have already used the passkey (at least for Visions of Truth) - the passkey should no longer be marked as a quest item and the base/doors should be accessible to you. My only guess as to why the base may be locked is you may have a stray shot or two hitting a scientist/Malachite crew during the battle, which puts it on lockdown (I have Malachite in Green reputation prior to X17 and it stays Green afterwards) then you may need to rely on a Guide to get inside the building; if you like, consider submitting a ticket to #s2-support so the devs may look into it for you (and others)
At before the point of no return I noticed that malachite was only accessibly through the sewer pipe or guides but it still was accessible
You can still get into Malachite even if ward takes over. You just have to sneak in.

Once Upon A Time At Kazkovyi Mission seems bugged if you've already explored and completed the place prior to the mission. The key is missing. I checked my personal stash. So nothing at the stage triggers.

@gaunt lagoon so i actually just got through it funny enough. not sure what will help but ill tell you what i did after like 20 attempts. so i decided to change weapons and brought the clusterfuck sniper rifle instead to do that i had to go all the way back to the chemical plant.
returned back to the mission marker it was mid day in game. slept then woke up to begin the assault run just behind the squad of ward so they don't stop and get stuck and moved up to the first truck on the road. picked off a few enemies until some one calls out over the radio about them needing to be headshot. continue clearing enemies and move up a little bit not too far and wait for the helicopter to get shot down waited a min or 2 for that sequence to end then took out all the enemies and the emitters in the compound before entering through the gate.
so on the rest completed with no issues. not sure what out of all that had an impact but after watching a load of videos online and all sorts this is how i was able to complete the mission. but prior to that i had literally tried every other possible option with no luck. sorry for the essay

I think I did the same but with one mistake, every ward died except one (master difficulty), and he was standing still before the gate ,maybe that was causing it to break the progress.
Ah well, I am at machalite know, taking to the new mainquest npc, and he allreadybgive me a new main quest marker so i can continue
im pretty sure all the ward died for me too but it made no difference in this case.

I am doing "A Minor Incident", at the boathouse, I had previously killed the cat and now I cannot loot the collar from it. I hear the beep from the collar, but cannot loot. Killed a Bloodsucker there too, has a collar on, but can't search it either. ANy workaround for this?
I’m at the point of no return, but still have a lot of side activities left. Did you guys finish the game and just reload or try and clear everything first?
completed as much as i wanted (all sidemissions and much loot), made saves, made end, and playing now with the save before point of no return the new mission and after that now ultimate upgrade with new thingys and rare artefact..and after that waiting for the dlc 🙂
Yeah, that’s likely what I’m going to do. I have the ultimate edition. Might look into those “thingys” if I don’t happen across them. I thought the first dlc was out? Might be mistaken though.
it was fresh sidestoryline but no real dlc. dlcs often cost something. The new sidemission was for free even on standard

Is it supposed to be such a difficult mission? Ive died a couple times now, and nearly instantly when Faust showed up.
I had no deaths to enemies before now, just missteps into anomalies
I'm using the Vector 9mm so I'm popping heads easy enough (although it might take four or five rounds per monolith soldier)
back to the slag heap is bugging out for me, scar's sawmill doors aren't opening
u got enough psi protection? it's sorta easy to kill faust if you have enough psi protection, and most monolith fights rely on psi emitters

How can I defeat Strelok in master difficulty? In veteran difficulty I defeated Strelok with everything I had. All of my ammo and nades. Everything.
hide behind teleporter, then after 3 gauss rifle headshots he's done
That’s heavy to carry. It only takes 3 headshots with Gauss rifle? He ate all of my AKM-74S ammo. And almost all of my 9x18 using Skif’s pistol.
Also I had a lot of nades with me. Like 99. Not sure how much nades I used on him. But I was well prepared for the legendary Strelok.
well I had dnipro, saiga, gauss and rpg in my backpack prepared for the whole point of no return section
after a bunch of battles I was in green weight zone even without weight artifacts
nades are heavy as well, but honestly they will also be helpful later on (but only like 10 I believe)

It was sufficient and cheap.
Because the economy was terrible in veteran mode.
small amount of consumables + a bunch of exoskeleton upgrades that boost your max carry weight + weight reduction weapon upgrades where possible + limited nrg drinks permanent carry weight buffs
I was able to upgrade and repair it without breaking the bank or going broke.

yeah, I played the whole game with only 5.45x39 caliber guns (like akm, fora, dnipro) just cause the ammo is everywhere
Not for me. Those weapons are supposedly everywhere but expensive to repair, upgrade, and restock ammo.
Even with good standing with a faction.
oh no I mean you can loot those ammo easily from npc bodies
I never bought a single ammo round during the whole game
Most reliable for me in veteran mode was SMG, Skif pistol, and AKM-74S.
It was a different story for me. I tried to loot everything. And stash them. Through the whole game I only had like 999 ammo of 556.

but fora, dnipro and like kharod with caliber change use 5.45
And plus the expenses for those guns. Shotguns are also kinda expensive compared to the smg, Skif pistol, and akm74s.

Takes longer to kill a bloodsucker with a smg than a akm74s. But the smg is very economy friendly.

Very reliable. Wouldn’t be my primary though. Only for when everything else has gone. In my next playthrough I will definitely go with skif pistol and smg. Since akm74s was kinda hard to maintain in veteran mode economy. Can’t imagine in master mode. 
I really liked skif's pistol (at least before sircaa), just because of repair costs
It’s still very economy, friendly.
The damage is decent too. It’s like my ace card.
Even with the normal 9x18.
it takes some time to find out the optimal way to maintain resources, but once you got it becomes pretty easy, even on master difficulty

I was already doing what you said on tips. I didn’t know I can sell mutant parts until later on in the game. And I did made a mistake on selling all artifacts. Lol until I stopped. I needed the money once I went broke.
I only sell the weapons, ammo, and energy/alcohol drinks.
The ammo depends on the value though.
I don’t collect everything I see because of space.
mutant parts requests in Malachite and artifact requests is the best money income

well I always tried to choose weapons that oneshot enemies in the head at each stage of the game, that seems more efficient resource-wise after all, cause you spend less ammo and repair the weapon less frequently
I used fora mostly after leaving the lesser zone, but after sircaa I needed like 3 headshots for one opponent with it, so I switched between dnipro and kharod
True but I have a problem with micro adjusting with regular joysticks. Since I play on controller. I hate joysticks for aiming. That’s why I use gyro. I love gyro.
So it takes 3 headshots to take away majority of his health?

For whatever reason in Dead Frequency quest, the bloodsuckers in bravo basement are tougher bloodsuckers than regular bloodsuckers. I dropped 10, 20, and then 36 RGD-5 on the small groups and it still did not kill them. I been at it for almost 30 minutes now. Not sure why they’re tougher. Almost like it’s scripted to avoid killing them all.
Very disappointed. Feels linear. And I hate linear games. Not sure why this specific quest in the specific spot is linear for master difficulty.
I’m just going to avoid them now since it’s ridiculous and not lack of skill in my part.
To clarify I’m talking about the bloodsuckers in a huddle and sleeping.

Guys, what am I missing on Ad Astra Per Aspera? There's an objective to "Reach the Clear Sky Base." I've made it to the CS base where Faust is, I've shut off all the beacons, I've weathered the emission, but the game just doesn't recognized that I've reached the base. Is there some other CS base I don't know about?

You're at sircaa right? They only attack you for a few min but after that it's stopped and everything is back to normal. Idk if this is the reply you are looking for

Its a part of the main quest, go for it and dont hesitated to kill some npcs.
All is scripted, and will be explained after, don't worry.

Faust and Korshunov were good but Strelok's fight is not bringing me joy
He tanks too many shots and his gun does ridiculous amounts of damage
Streloks ending was my first ending and getting all the different endings was horrible just for the fact of fighting strelok every other time

I noticed he has a conversation with Zulu. Also, who is Zulu and why is he such an important character? (I've only played STALKER 2). Thanks Would you recommend playing the older games? nope, killing Roosevelt wont botch your reputation with Duty.
Zulu is from Call of Prypiat (3rd and final addon to the trilogy, but we see him in the new Cost of Hope trailer; first major DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, so its most likely if not positive he’ll return.)
he’s located at the Yaniv Station tower in CoP.
i’d highly recommend playing the trilogy, you’ll get a better understanding of the story and the older games are ultimately pretty dope

have another question regarding the faction treaty established by Korshunov in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Why did Duty (or Freedom, as I recall from the DLC trailer) break the treaty? Do we know how it was broken? Also, I heard that Patch 1.9 added a note regarding Freedom and the Iron Forest how does that note tie into the story?
Well we’ll have to see once the dlc is out but it seems that it takes place after the events at SIRCAA so my best guess is since the ward got practically dusted after that so they don’t want to follow the treaty anymore
I have another question Is the relationship between Duty and Ward actually good? From what I've seen at the Cement Factory, you can hear over the loudspeakers that Ward is assisting Duty, suggesting they are allies. However, after the destruction of SIRCAA, the announcements change, stating that Duty must continue its mission to protect the Zone without Ward's support. If they have or had a good relationship, will Duty receive help from Ward in the DLC, or will Ward be too busy dealing with Spark?
Ward was pretty clear with the D4 Treaty, i dont think they'd help Duty in a conflict with Freedom
Ward probably won’t be featured in the dlc much other than them being a ruined faction after their failed battles
