I want to be a CS student in the future, however the portuguese education system is horrible, I'm forced to learn Biology, Geology, Philosphy and even Chemistry, which I deem useless for what my goals are. I'm in my junior year/10th grade and it's mid year, Also I believe I'm failling Chemistry since first semester in I barely passed.
I heard about the 42 Program, a program for anybody at any age from any background to learn CS and Programming for **free **with no schedules, It has **interships **as a core of the education and I only need to know C(which I know the fundamentals) . One thing about it, that matters is that It DOESN'T require a highschool diploma, meaning when I reach 18 I can just jump into this program. I'm not sure if I should drop out or not.
The thing is that I also have a very bad schedule(that I did try fixing), so going to this program can really be beneficial for me.
I'm 16 and both my parents don't accept the idea yet, The public school education isn't just "difficult", it's also the language barrier and It's really stressful, Since my parents pressure me to NOT fail, I had to drop a lot of my hobbies like coding and skateboarding.
I know this might be controversial but I don't know what to expect.
I asked my parents about homeschooling but both of them work and It's hard to setup since there will be letters sent and recieved by the government back to back and that's time consuming.
I don't know what I want to be either, Either a Game dev or Cybersecurity student since they both feel satisfying.
