#Amazon and Flag Bearer Nerf

I know some Captains will probably be upset about the flag nerf because it overall increases the scaling. On the one hand (as a viewer) I like the change because the meta of "a couple good units and everyone else place a flag" was just so boring to me. But I worry about Captains now trying to control scaling by only wanting placements of super low level units; since I don't have any non-legendaries under level 10 it might be harder to find dungeons where I can participate.
Yeah the new meta of "a couple good units + everyone else should put a lvl 1 otherwise ban" is not really better 🤣
I have a hard time with any Captain who dictates, via threat of Ban, the type & level of any unit placed, especially regarding Quest units. I have already un-followed one Captain in particular who does that. But, this is just a side game for me, so I'm not as serious about the placement "science" as other folks are ...
Captains using do not place markers for where viewers can place low level units is not good.. either reverse the flag bearer change or make a new marker that makes it impossible to place units above level 10 or so. The captains that want to control scaling will still do so, why make it harder for them?
I am a fan of the recent changes. Now we can freely place the units needed to complete the dungeon level with a wide variation of units instead of x # of amazons and rest flags. Variety keeps 4,6, 8 hrs of consecutive dungeons more interesting and engaging. Placing the same low level or any low level thats below “lvl 10” is extremely boring and barely worth a muted tab, much less actual viewership. Previous power scaling had a level 30 archer with a power level of 88. Captain would place their unit, ask for a couple archers, maybe a paly, then fill with flags. Gradually adding more archers and paly before going fully HAM. Using that same strategy now feels amazing with every level 30 equal to 90 power points. Want to throw an orc slayer? ( previously 200+ power) Go for it. I feel this is some of what CTV was wanting……more variety, not more MICRO managing
I think in practice, the Amazon nerf won't change that much, at least for this dungeons. My first impression with this dungeons and this boonset is that Amazons lose access to Beast of Burden and Elemental Summoning, so it is a decently noticeable nerf. That said, I have seen some captains run some mages to generate the Elemental Minion so maybe that is a workaround.
But Huntress Amazons still have access to some very good +range boons, such as Danger Zone and Volley Tactics. The nerf hits the viability of Princesses pretty hard because in the last dungeons, part of the viability of Princess was to pick up Impenetrable and Thick Skin.
If the goal is to nerf Amazons in favour of giving other legendaries a chance to shine, then I think the boonset for a dungeons has to further benefit the other ranged units and I don't think that exists enough here. We have had clarification that things like a generic, "Ranged units ignore 20% resistance" type of boon does not affect Huntresses and I think the addition of some of those might help, or better boons for the other legendaries.
