Hi i just wanted to check do you get a battle pass for free as a captain or does it mean some one has gifted me with on as i have seeming to have one without buying on just starting the game today

On your captain account, yes, it is granted to captains at the start of the event. But it doesn't carry over into your viewer account I believe. So you will have to buy the battle pass for your viewer account if you wanted any of rewards from there
