As a captain that has ran many campaigns in the 2 years i have been one this is a huge drop in the amount of laurels players get and as can be seen has alot of people unhappy. I think we need a happy medium here with the amount of laurels we get. Going from getting hundreds-thousands of laurels in battles to maybe double digits is an insane drop. Can we please fix this so the players can be happy again? We just got the influx of new players which brought my faith in the game back up and now there are just as many unhappy players as there are new players. We also need super bosses add to the event.

Yes, this is just brutal. I was usually only getting 25 to 100 laurels, hadn't had any outliers like others had, yet.
Now I haven't had a single one give me double digits yet .. that's off-putting when not getting the skins from the chests after spending thousands already.
It's not good for new and casual players plus captains, if even grinding you get nowhere.
legit what's the point in me putting my units down for my captains to just get meager returns on laurels when I just want to get the skins like it was OK with 25-100 laurels per battle if I'm lucky now you nerf it to the ground at single digits whats my motivation to keep going?
This event sucks. 0/10 Don't play until they reverse this decision.

I get that and I apologize for that comment, but CTV did everything wrong with this campaign
They messed up horribly and basically annoyed everyone.
I'd love to know the rationale behind this decision.
Polterheist was the worst, Snowfall also was bad with presents not scaling properly with battle size .. now Olympiad.
They all could be great events that feel good.
I’ve put thousands in already trying to get the last old skin with no luck. And now I have to farm even more for chances at the skin?
This event is also only 3 and a half weeks long, overlapping with Dungeons 18.
I wouldn’t mind the nerf if they had dupe protection but they haven’t for many events now.
these could have been great events but all were marred by the currency chest system, if you were looking for skins, which most people are.

I just got back to back Legendary scrolls….
There is over 3 weeks left in the event; are we really expecting to get all the skins in the first couple days?
Grinders getting stuff in the first 2 days is normal. If things are this bad playing 10+ hours a day, battle hopping - levelled units, etc .. that translates poorly for anybody for whom this is a side-game, the intended use of the game.
Then for those of us who have both a captain and viewer side, that's a double grind we're asked to do. (Not asked, and captains with their own skins might not care - but still ...)
I’m not expecting 50 currency (if lucky) for wiping out a map practically on my own then getting nothing from the chests
Now I’ve just been told to skin bomb if I really need the currency by a dev
I'm used to it now, so it doesn't disappoint anymore and I don't get upset anymore.
First no Laurel, then you get 100 so much that i claim all over 1000 (gap is 2000 and dont know if there will come special skins to buy for 400 or legi scrolls for 200 so i save)
But opened i only got common scrolls, later it went better, there were also 2 updates and had 4 issues for reload.
I dont understand why the chests arent good programmed from start! It isnt the first special chest campain.
Sorry guys i got all new in first 24 h, the old needed a bit more, but now i have all. I love Athena Centurion and Demeter Fairy. Apollo Archer looks good.
I am in gold loyalty of 4 and silver of 5 captns. I make my kills without soul, because i cant stupid make a baby to a great spec and master unit and then bring to Jerry, so i have no soul.
So I'm a newer player with units that are just starting to reach specializations so this comes from that perspective of not having the best available to farm laurels with.
A good game for me would result in up to around 300 laurels which probably is too high and I've seen vet players reporting that they had earned 10x that amount in a single battle, well clearing the cap for laurels in just one battle and on that note can admit it was tuned way too high out of the gate. Now though the same level of units will earn me a high of around 12 laurels, way more likely earning 0 or 2.
With the drop rates in the chests for the skins so low it's going to be extremely difficult for any kind of laurel farming for a newer player. I definitely don't think it should go back to where it was but some form of medium would really be nice or the newer players won't have much of a chance to get all of or at least most of the skins from the new/old god boxes.
I agree we don’t need thousands per game but it also shouldn’t take thousands to unlock skins.
It took me 90 chests to get the 4 old skins (2250 laurels) and 63 to get the 4 new ones (1575 laurels). I don't have an opinion on new drop amounts yet because I haven't played since the patch, but it was so nice for once to be done with the skins quickly and not have to stress about currency throughout the event like usual. Seems like it is back to the grind for people who weren't as lucky or weren't able to play as much as I was pre-nerf. ☹️
I got a few thousand Laurels before the nerf and needed all 8, I got 3.
This laurel drop is going to make people accuse SR of promoting event token sales, i.e. promoting loot box mechanics. They do NOT want that. While some reasonable nerf to laurels may have been in order, this is way too far. 25-50 a fight is fine, 2 to 4 is absolutely not. I'm not even sure what to say beyond that (other than I am not paying $ for laurels).
Yeah I’m not expecting thousands each game anymore but since the drop rates for the skins are awful I’d certainly like more than 4 for a 30 minute battle.

Yeah. I mean, there should be some balance for skins, but I am aware that you can get gold and scrolls etc. from chests too. When I say 25-50 per fight I mean in the context that skin drops be reasonable, which they may not be (seems not from what I am reading).
But yeah SR/Captain TV don't screw this up, your product is way too popular to kill the golden goose here. Many other games have made the same mistake and the consequences are clear - don't take too much away that a playerbase has come to value.
I also think this change is too much in the wrong direction. Ive been captaining battles for a while now and I noticed a big difference in the numbers recently. There definitely needs to be a good middle ground, I completely agree.

I understand why it was nerfed, particularly when comparing event currency from other events. At first I was gaining the full 2000 cap at least three times a day and the explanation that the laurel drop was based on the old configuration is reasonable.
But while I didn't oppose nerfing the cap definitely the intensity of nerfing the laurels as aggressively as was done will really harm more casual players especially - I might be able to survive, but I almost always have this game up whenever I am up.
Following up on my previous post. Thank you for the laurel buff. This is a definite improvement. I am not 100% sure it is quite enough, but it might be, I'll have to figure it out. I would also point out that while this might be okay for most things, if the skin drops are as low as they have been, that is still going to be an issue, for the purpose of getting skins (as opposed to gold and scrolls).
Ok, so i just spent 1k laurels and got all three of the remaining new chest skins. Accident? Compared to before, doesn't feel like it. I'm going to say that the skin drop rate is probably OK now. If anyone else can share their experiences, would be cool, thanks.
I've spent 400 laurels today and had no skins. I got 2 skins before the patch, each taking me 1K laurels...had nothing since (all on New Skin Chest)
I still have yet to get any of the new skins, I had to use so many Laurels for the old ones I wasted them all when the farming was good and the FOMO is hitting even tho there’s still a little less than 3 weeks left.
this matches pretty closely with mine within about 200 laurels - unfriendly to new or more casual players post-nerf + lack of loyalty chests until recently (still not sure if on par) and continued lack of SB on 6 don't make for a great showing
I feel like skins droprate is way too low and it is really frustrating.
I am playing on 2 accounts and it took me thousands of laurels to get a couple of them.
Not only do I find that the investment required to obtain the laurels is too great compared to the reward (hundreds of games & hours played to get a couple of skins), but I also find that the drop rate being so low causes a lot of frustration. To choose, I would have preferred to obtain 10x fewer laurels but make x10 the chances of obtaining a skin.
In the end, the quantity of skins would be the same but we would at least remove the frustration factor.
The lack of dupe protection is something I’ve complained about for several events now. So many times you’ll get legendary scrolls before the skins you’re trying for. They think this is some sort of amazing bonus when really it’s more of an annoyance. Do I want more legendary scrolls? Sure, but I’m grinding for these skins first.
The Laurel nerf was basically a penalty on new players that don't have high level enough units to wade in to get kills. The "full slate of 30s with dupes" players are still going to get enough laurels to get all the skins and plenty of loot. The only people this seriously hurt are the lower level players that don't have piles of skins to choose from and who also still NEED scrolls to build.
I've got several lvl 30s and all units lvl 25+ and I still don't have all the skins
(and that's just for the new gods chest (I haven't even tried for any of the skins in the old gods chest)
Im sorry but this doesnt just hurt the new players. I have been playing for over 2 years and it hurts me just as much.
Same here. Also playing over 2 years and same. I wish laurels were upped a bit more.
Any system with rewards based on kills would favor older players with more high level units. If you want something different, the game would have to do something like actively look in player inventory and inverse scale rewards for players with less units unlocked. But then older players would be complaining about unfairly getting less rewards.
