"Hey, team! I've been on the lookout for the elusive 10 spy scrolls to unlock the spy unit for over two months now. I've got this fantastic epic skin in the store waiting to be used, but no luck with the scrolls. I've noticed that PvP Clash seems to be the primary route, but honestly, I'm not a fan of PvP; it feels a bit dull and inactive.
Is there something we can do about this?

The Spy is designed to be a Versus exclusive unit. In the future we might sell scrolls in a premium pack, and that's still something we're not sure if we will actually do. And I don't think we will grant Spy scrolls in any other way besides opening Versus chests.

pretty sure the dungeons had spy boons in it but sure wish i new that before i wasted a epic Skin on a VERSUS only unit , I guess its just the way of the road Bubs

It's not a Versus only unit. I didn't explain it well. The Spy can be used in any game mode, but you can only unlock it and level it up by playing Versus. There are Spy boons in Dungeons so players can use that unit in that game mode. But we designed the Spy to drive people to play Versus, with that unit being a reward for those who play.
BTW, the Blob is similar to the Spy in that regard: its Scrolls are found in Dungeons only.

My problem with Spy scrolls only being unlocked by playing versus is... half the time when anyone WANTS to play versus, there isn't anyone playing. Or me, as a captain, trying to play versus and getting timed out for 45+ minutes on repeat is BS because there's only 2-3 others MAYBE half assed playing and it's a CONSTANT battle to even try to run versus. So that seems like SR is penalizing people who want Spy scrolls. VERY unfair. 😦 Everyone in my chat was gung-ho to play to get scrolls but then we sat there for an hour not getting matches, so we said nope, not today Satan and quit wasting our time. I would say make spy scrolls available in the shop.

I fully support making Spy scrolls available by other means and avoiding locking units to specific game modes. It was payday today, so I decided to check out the Black Friday Packs, got some great loot. Then decided to run one set of 475 Bones since I could open 5 of the 100x chests that way, hopefully get some more Spy scrolls. And just like the last time I was weak and wasted money on Bones, 0 Spy scrolls.
As of right now, unfulfilling PvP cycles in, I try to get at least thru the 10x scroll offering, maybe the final set if luck is on the Captain's side, and then fall back to Campaign and Dungeons if available until PvP quests reset.
