Idea: the blub skin. Where it's a transparent blob with a fish in it.

possible specialization:
glutton blob - max growing range +1
mitosis blob - max quantity of splitting +1
buffing blob - protect ally units in range
toxic blob - causes damage to enemy units in range

Blob: Melee Uncommon Unit.

Effect: On enemy attack, gain a stacking buff of 5% damage. On enemy kill OR reaching 10 stacks of the buff, splits into two blobs, stacks reset.

Milestone: Stacking buff 5%/6%/8%/10%/15%

Specializations:
One Man Army Blob: Loses the ability to grow beyond the first stack, but splits into blobs much easier after two hits.
Unrepenting Horror Blob: Loses the ability to split, but constantly keeps growing in strength with no limits (secret limit of 100 or 1000 I don't know). Now gains two stacks of the growth buff per hit.
Advanced Learning Blob: +1 Range

Blob sounds cool. Speed of splitting could be a spec. Will it split over time like necro, or split on taking damage, or on getting kill?

A bard with a conal aoe would be another idea for the future:)

This is probably a coding nightmare, but if multiple people placed a blob adjacent to each other in the placement period, during the battle the adjacent blobs could merge and form a super blob that's stronger and tougher. Alternatively allow blobs that weren't placed together at the start but become adjacent via pathing at any point during the battle to also merge (not sure which of the options would be tougher to code for). Stats might be difficult to track but perhaps could leverage the stacking mechanic for when maps reach 2000+ units? Or just allow stacking anytime for just the blob unit and multiple people can place blobs on the exact same square at the start?

Coming in late, I did blob stuff last weekend as part of a captain push for blob. At level 18, you need to pick a specialty. Problem is the text describing each one is tiny, and if you zoom in, the image with the descriptions gets smaller before the text becomes readable.

Biohazard Blob - Infect: Blob and Small Blob attacks POISON units. Poisoned units receive 20 damage every 5s and if this damage kills them, a Small Blob is spawned.

Goopy Blob - Goop: Attacks apply STICKINESS for 15s. Targets have -20% Speed and Attack Speed. After performing an action they are also stuck in place and get +50% Damage Vulnerability for 3s.

Symbiotic Blob - Alchemical boost: Restores 30 Health and grants +20% Damage to a nearby unit on death.

I assume that the ability is supposed to apply to both the first Blob and the Small Blobs that it spawns. But Biohazard is the only one that mentions Small Blobs in its description.

It is hard to tell when watching a streamed battle which Blob is what spec and how well that spec is working.
