After one makes a battle plan, make it so a captain can save the battle plan pattern into a favorite. Add a Heart shaped marker in the bottom, and there a captain can select a preset battle plan, that was used before (especially good for similar shape maps, or in dungeons)

This has always been a good idea! I still want to do it but very costly for us
