So when opening the chests, somehow a Bonechest screen appeared. Every time you open a crystal chest you can see for a little moment a bone mark appear on the chest icon. I believe something beneath it is covering a Bone Chest which led to this error. The X was not clickable, so the only way to solve it was close the game entirely. It is fixed now, but this actually happened. So might want to look into it, and understand why this might be happening.
