18/(3600/2000)=10ns

So while the frequency (cycles/second) is higher with 3600 MT/s, the number of cycles between sending a column address to the memory and the beginning of the data in response also takes longer. The real world impact of this also depends highly on application: on average I'd assume the 3600 Cl18 has marginally better performance at XMP due to bandwith scaling being more common but when you're not looking to overclock either one of those kits because they will just go poo poo

first build, any feedback/suggestions? probably going to buy my parts by the end of this month, just to give it some time for some possible price drops (CPU isnt at normal price rn) and for the Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super to hopefully get in stock (cheaper + better cooling?). trying not to go over $1100. wireless adapter is because it's not possible for me to route an ethernet cable to my room. 600W PSU is for possible upgrades, but would it be better to go with a 500W one and then whenever I do end up needing an upgrade, buying a nicer (semi-modular or full) one?

Mostly it's something like 3600 vs 3600x, 3700 vs 3800x, 3900 vs 3900XT, etc. Which is literally just small clock differences
