I mean
why would they
hardware lock PL
when they have like 20 competitors that don't
@barren crypt the motherboard has a hardware bios update button
At first their cards were good, then they changed production for some reason. Idk what happened
so you will be fine to run the 5600x with it without needing another cpu
just need to download bios onto a usb from another pc
@cursive wharf but anyways, fr, you sure about turing having hardware PL limits?
I read about people flashing vbios and getting a higher PL on the 2070 I currently have
i bought a ventus 2070 super, possibly the worst cooler ever
or do you mean only turing ventus cards
thermal throttled pretty hard at stock
wait
needed to be undervolted by 150mV to stop thermal throttling
@stoic island consider this: take the concept of binning. And keep refining it. and you end up with hardware PL limits
I think their best 2080Ti was 450w/500w(Lightning X?). Even on custom loop (so no really exotic stuff) 2080Ti could do 630w
will my ventus gpu have bad cooling
hm
ampere ventus is alright
Ventus for 20xx and 16xx is bad
we are talking about turing ventus
ventus for 30xx is good
well, good for MSRP.
the cooler was good enough for those lower gpus
@earnest olive heatsink just bad, the 16xx just weren't hot enough to show you how bad it was
:P
Im talking PL more for custom loop stuff, so ignoring all the stock cooling stuff
the cooler design matters less when there's not much heat to begin with
i did a few overclocks on gtx 1660 ventus and still stayed around 70C
70C after 60 runs of fire strike extreme back to back
the 2070 super ventus climbed to 85C immediately and throttled to about 1700mhz
heh
after undervolting to 900mV it would do 1890mhz at about 82C
not quite throttling but on the cusp
though in my defense
it was the beginning of covid and it was literally the only 2070 super in stock
hey guys i need help with a $400 pc list. im good with lists normally but not on the lower end
sad
there was a 2070 super gaming x trio in the cart that went out of stock in the 3 minutes i was ordering the other parts
if you want a $400 new build you're looking at a ryzen 5 3400G based build
sips no
but used would get you much better performance
yea
well
I just don't like ryzen apus
im good with higher end but ive never really made a pc with a low budget
I mean 1650
\
or upgrade the psu
oh yeah, Trio was the standard highest end card. Lightning was the super rare one or smth
120$ optiplex + 150$ 1650 + 60$ mp34 512gb
sry my pumpkin pressed / then enter
is nice
could plop an evga br in for $50 into a $100 optiplex and then put a 1650S in
wouldn't be too bad
oh is it proprietary for optiplex
does anyoen know how to use gparted
all the ones I've seen
cause i think floppa has an optiplex with a different psu
@earnest olive I put the desk price in there so I would know the full price
he's probably the one to ask
he's running a modded rx 570 in his optiplex
@kind flax yes
just make your own connector hahaha
plz dont, seriously
do ur guys parts get damage during shipping
have had a few get damaged during shipping before
@cursive wharf don't worry among us counts as electrician training right?
to start off, whatever the hell this is, I dunno where the mobo power even is
did u get refund sips?
save like 40k+ (idk pricing) on Uni and just do Among Us electrician for training
k
i give way too much money to amazon and newegg they're both interested in keeping me happy lol
power?
dunno

anyways hard to tell with this one, I'd assume proprietary
I've been looking for it in that image
just can't find it
oh well
i wonder what floppa did
again, can't find it, prob proprietary again
stop i don't like these pictures
left is CPU right is mobo, guessing
proprietary bad
this one might be good, count the pins maybe
but is the pinout correct?
i hate that that's a valid question
there are two imposters among us
it's the optiplex 9010 if you want to check with dell, I'm gonna dig deeper on ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Optiplex-9010-Intel-i5-3470-3-2-GHZ-8GB-Ram-500-GB-HDD-No-OS/333756484347?hash=item4db56fcafb:g:v3YAAOSwcqhfietD
looks like a single 8 pin fir this one
that's enough ebay digging
mostly proprietary stuff
i'm curious what would happen if you tried to run a 10900K under synthetic load with 4 pin EPS power
would it just power limit throttle or crash
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mh4Zwz thoughts comments and concerns?
It wouldn't boot afaik
oh really? interesting
@earnest olive thought they can only boot with a 8 pin eps
it's like a gpu where it has a minimum requirement?
depends on mobo
I thought, am not sure
cause there are some modern mobos with only 4 pin for cpu
on lga1200?
EPS 4pin could probs do 240w before melting
that's also true, but before melting is a high standard
poor VRMs if it's a board with just 4 pin
and usually they do melt, seen that for EPS 8 pin
@still bay if it's for gaming, a 5600X is better, mobo seems overpriced, ram is definitely overpriced for 3200c16, otherwise looks alright
3020, 7020, 9020 all proprietary, avoid
3010, 7010, 9010 SFF, MT, DT use 24 pin
some other guy tried pushing crazy power through a 8pin, it melted
I think it was 500w - 600w
is the Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS Wifi a good mobo
good, but pricy for what it is usually
its 136 pounds
i'm not sure if there are any H410 with 4 pin cpu power, i have seen A520 with 4 pin cpu power
I mean, also OEM stuff
yeah OEM is more likely
it does list support for the 9900K
9900k should be fine tho
so it would definitely boot
10900k tho
stock PL2 is 250W no?
yeah it won't stay sustained 250W at intel spec stock
but it can go there
spikes won't really melt anything
most motherboards will unlock power limit time window anyways
and run it at 250W stock
I doubt a h410 will xD
@barren crypt AsRock Pro4 b550M is like 99 pound and Phantom Gaming 4 is like 105 pound. TUF has no features that really make it worth the extra money unless you really need the better VRMs. Tho in that case I'd assume 5950x OC or something and you'd be getting a better mobo anyways. So basically, not really that great of a choice usually
but i don't know if that applies to a $60 H310 board
dunno
intel is weird
maybe the mobo manufacturer just wanted to see the world burn
one mobo at a time
i bought a b550 aorus elite for $150 and i'm very happy with it
better ram overclocking than my old b450 tomahawk max, vrms are good enough for an OC 5950x, has exactly the rgb headers i need and has sata ports on the bottom of the board
having sata ports on the bottom of the board seems surprisingly rare on b550
If you need the VRMs and still maintain best quality at cheap price, TUF was the best last I checked given the price. Maybe good for like 5800x major OC or smth. Tho I did check some weeks ago now
also noticeably better sound than the b450 tomahawk max
I mean, b450 tomahawk was garbage soundchip
the b550 aorus elite has 14 phase that i believe can do sustained 200A for $150
pretty beefy heatsinks on them too
@ebon matrix why are you so negative about peoples builds?
sic651
i say i dont like rgb
@edgy wagon
14 virtual phases, 6+6 CPU with 2 SoC
running prime95 small ffts on it right now at 82A EDC
ok
VRM temps 34C
and i have an aio so no airflow onto vrms from cpu cooler
it's only a 3600X for now though so not exactly the best stress test
tho, still best within the limited pricepoint VRM wise
yeah for $150 it's really really nice
supposedly performs like sic639s
considerably cheaper than the tuf i believe
and yeah the b450 tomahawk max had the older realtek alc892 audio chip
but the difference is still more than i was expecting
this board gets 3800C16 stable while my tomahawk max couldn't
i would love for you to post that on reddit
heh
post what?
that the "mighty" tomahawk couldnt save the world
VRMs should be solid
eh, it wasn't a bad board
oh no he's been on reddit for too long
i did buy it based on others' advice before i knew what a mobo did though
no bad products, just bad prices
i got it for 115
and the tomahawks are badly priced for what they offer the regular consumers :)
I got a B450 gaming pro carbon ac for 110$ smh
my ram ran at 3733C16 on it
b550 TUF plus was a bit cheaper then non mATX, but still worse VRMs
i decided to upgrade it mostly because of the msi software
tomahawk hasnt really been a popular board for a while since other b450 boards can support ryzen 3000 fine and b550
dragon center pissed me off one too many times
uninstall is good
b550 steel legend is basically same as elite but SiC654 instead of SiC651 (VRM wise)
654 should perform the same as 651
buit it's $189.42
you get LCD debug thing tho
also doesn't have a sata port on the bottom like i needed
yeah i won't deny that is nice
b550 pro4 has post code display on the bios splash screen
which actually saved me while i was doing a build on one
told me that there was a faulty usb device
no BIOS flashback thing tho
not sure i would have ever figured that out without that post code display
the wifi adapter i bought for it was faulty and preventing boot somehow
not a fan of having to plug in sata to the side of the board for cable management reasons
bottom looks better
which is why it surprises me that so many b550 boards only have sata ports on the right
wouldn't work in this case
hey what would you say is a reasonable idle temp for an i5 9400f on a slightly better than stock air cooler?
i'm trying to build my boyfriend a new PC for christmas , i'll save up to 1300$ and i want to make it good enough so he can play the VR i bought him last year (the rift S) can someone help me
those sata and usb header cables stick out
especially if you have white custom cables like i do
hm
even more contrast
that's on a b550 pro4
THANK U
any tips for me anyone? i just wanna make him feel cared about and i wanna Blow his mind by building it myself
@little osprey you could get a custom engraved gpu stand with your names on it or something?
fair enough
Don't mind the totally correct SSD mount
@cursive wharf if it fits it sits
im not trying to Go overboard bc what if we break up 🤣🤣 then that's a GPU of awkward
mhm
that's so freakin cute!!
could be good
good way to make it a more personal gift
hm, "awkward", but also spend 1.3k tho too
ima edit the list to be 1300$ for just pc
@little osprey you sure you don't want a monitor with it too?
Ahahah money is no object to make him smile im not gonna think abt that
i just bought one, the seller is really responsive and yeah you really can pick anything
shipping takes a while though
Reason: Bad word usage
if it's for christmas i think the expedited shipping is guaranteed to arrive before christmas
Oh crap
what Im saying is that if you go this far, probs make it nice and personal
his computer is bad with good monitors
gah what is MSI doing with bad sound chips
or you could get one of those antisag brackets that is screwed in
thing here is that "good" can be subjective. Do you know what monitors?
Good PC can handle good monitors :p
@ripe wedge i picked this stand to support any pcie slot height
uhhhh , he loves them? his best friends got them for him they're curved
since i don't know which gpu i'm buying yet
ah
I have no idea im a dunce
I went yolo and im going without an anti sag bracket but it isnt starting to sag yet
i wanted the 3080 aorus master 4 slots
alright if he's already got good monitors
but can't buy 3080 :/
intel vs amd. what made you swap if you did ?
just cuz the GPU be rather powerful and the monitors might just be "decent" instead of "good". Depending on that it might be worth to get better monitors
@fallen oriole look at product not brand

Ah if so i'll let him take care of monitors so he can at least pick some stuff
but i just wanna allow him to play the VR that won't work on his computer now
Not rn im at work but i can soon
yeah i meant in general
sick yeah i'll check
you can find this in windows settings
this might be a more "rounded" list at 1250$, more money spent on looks than the last one, and CPU actually in stock.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CcgZwz
you OCed your g27qc?
BET
settings > system > display > advanced display settings
no it's 165hz out of the box
whaaa
basically just factory oc
doubt it has any more meaningful headroom
c stands for curved
That GPU is still outta stock
I'm a fan of curved
if you can't snag an rtx 3070 keep an eye out for the rx 6800 launching soon
and i'm not super worried about looks as much as i am worried abt performance since he streams and wants to play the VR
3070 is basically a requirement for a 1000$+ PC nowadays
@earnest olive did you see that article with Asus being concerned about selling out 6800 right away?
rx 6800 streaming encoder isn't as good but gaming performance is better
so dunno
they said minutes
pff you know they mean less, and they're admitting it, which is concerning...
if it lasts 1 minute then it was already in stock for 600 times longer than rtx 30xx
do we know much about rdna2 encoder?
@earnest olive remember, 30xx technically lasted 10 minutes per launch
that's what they were saying
:P
what a joke
exactly
I was there at launch lol
Thank u guys for ur help so much! i'll be back with questions later on 🤣
so I seriously wouldn't bet on it with what Asus said
went from coming soon to sold out instantly
Before this, no one admitted any stock issues premptively
It's just concerning, anyways, I'm not too optimistic for the launch
i have hope since it's on a more mature node than rtx 30xx, but at the same time supply constraint on wafers
GN having fun...
refresh
coming soon
refresh
coming soon
refresh
sold out
sad
3080 launch
I remember now
if I can snag a nitro+ 6800xt I'll be so happy
@cursive wharf I thought you were talking
https://store.gamersnexus.net/ for a sec
isnt 6800 non XT 650?
thought it was 550
6800xt is 649 and 6800 is 579
6800xt is 679
wha
it was 650$ on the slides?
no I am
and i cant numbers
i definitely remember people screaming about "50 less than 3080"

too bad 3080s are actually $50k
techie club = can't remember numbers club
rip
might have better luck in Hardware swap
seen fair few Ampere cards with MSRP+tax pricing
woohoo
in case would look sike
lol
i agree
it is trash then
when i got a asus laptop for xmas i called is a sis
i took a look at r/hardwareswap
the 3080 model i want is being sold at 1100+
mmm no thanks
i can afford it but i'm not interested in supporting scalpers
msrp + tax + shipping + a little bit for the seller's time still shouldn't exceed 1k
I look at Canadian HWS and it's rather good usually (and C-HWS is much worse in getting nice deals to to less demand). Due to the community they'll get a lot of hate for scalping prices too
tho, taxes usually be high, 5% to 13% depending on province/territory
usually 13% cuz most popular province
(the 3090 is a placeholder for RX 6800) rate this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hTVfvf
fix it if i did dumb dumb mistake
you don't need an x570 board
you're using a single x16 gpu and no nvme gen 4
pick up a b550 aorus elite and save some money
Reason: Duplicated text
and you don't have to worry about a chipset fan either on b550
ok
otherwise looks fine
have fun
make sure your gpu fits in the meshify c
especially if you plan to front mount that rad
meshify c isn't the biggest of cases
how about know?
now*
god im dumb
also anything i should replace to make it cheaper
When I turn off my pc I just click shut down right? Instead of sleep
lol 1050ti with 2gb vram
please do not turn off your pc by unplugging it
Lmao
about the same as holding down the power button just faster
wait what the heck is that a $109 case with no psu shroud
using the built in shut down command is nice to your hardware and software, it tells your operating system to pack up what it's doing you want to turn off
using the power button is like taking your arm and shoving everything off the table screaming SHUT OFF NOWWWWWWWW
not using proper shutdown can cause file corruption if disk turns off in the middle of a write
i've gotten OS corruption before from hard shutting off a pc that got stuck during overclock tuning
kinda don't feel like using 2k on a pc even if it lasts for a while
not something you want to be doing regularly
you could tune down the monitor
rx 6800 will not hit 1440p240 in most games
in fact it probably won't even reliably hit 1440p144 in new AAA titles
maybe if you turn settings to low
is X570 better than B550?
not AAA titles
spending more on monitor than gpu is not advisable
then go 1080p240
you don't play esports titles for looks
@south jungle For the average person, those chipsets are essentially the same.
you're spending the extra 1k on your monitor and gpu
fair
that's the simple answer
so, those would be spots that be the only spots to save money decently.
@south jungle only go x570 if you're running 1 gpu with more than 1 gen 4 nvme ssd, or multi gpu
otherwise b550 is enough
I mean I want something with no USB 2.0 ports
bruh what
why
you can use usb 2.0 for keyboard/mouse and stuff
it's perfectly fine
many usb devices do not need usb 3 speeds
eh
nothing
some even only work in 2.0 since 3.0 messes with wireless signals
@timber swallow you can also get a used monitor for the second one
I mean, how many keybs/mice actually have a 3.0 protocol?
Yea 2.0 can actually be more stable
is there a BIG difference between 1440p and 1080p?
i got a nicer monitor than that one used for $30 including power and hdmi cables
for looks, according to people, yes.
@timber swallow you can also get a used monitor for the second one
@earnest olive oook
for esports? no
media devices are the only things that benefit from fast usb, keyboards, mice and peripherals typically work fine on slower usb
what's the best for someone that's planning to use 1 GPU with at least 1-2 SSDs?
@earnest olive for chilling on disney plus or yt
if you'd like to have 1440p for productivity like schoolwork
@timber swallow entirely depends on size of display and viewing distance from display
is there a difference
then you could do a 1080p240 monitor and a 1440p60 second monitor
THAT SOUNDS SMART
@south jungle are both ssds gen 4?
IDK yet but probably
@earnest olive at that point we tell them to not get a gen 4 drive
logitech mx anywhere mouse only works well in my laptops 2.0 usb it gets all jumpy in the 3.0 port
UW-QHD be better tho
B550 great choice
can you recommend one to me?
I kind of need wifi
@timber swallow you can also downgrade on the cooler, the 5600x runs cool on basic air coolers already
you can always add wifi externally
otherwise I gotta use a powerline adapter
pro4 + WiFi AiC + antennas
I suppose that's true but what about an internal capture card I plan to add?
oh true b550m pro4 has a m.2_e slot
I don't want to use USB wifi
it's not usb
my b550 aorus elite has 4 pcie slots
yeah b550 pro4 supports wifi over m.2
close nuff
Reason: Bad word usage
so you can use 4 GPU's if you really wanted to?
internal capture card doesn't need to run at pcie gen 4
lets just remove all the annoying stuff and call it m2e
right it uses the smaller one
top slot is gen 4 x16 for gpu
Reason: Bad word usage
Reason: Too many infractions
ah
how unfortunate
not to mention, do we need more then NVENC?
so what's best for me then?
b550 unless you REALLY want 2 gen 4 ssds
I want at least type-c an
if you REALLY want 2 gen 4 ssds then money is probably not a consideration
so might as well x570
I dont see RDNA2 beating Ampere much on raster unless OCing, so Nvidia might be a nicer option
well I mean I'll spend 250 max I'd say on a motherboard but IDK yet
asrock b550 pro4 is like $135
my gigabyte b550 aorus elite was $150
you can find good x570 boards for under 250 though
I don't know if I want asrock brand I was looking at MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE
it's just not something that most people need
@south jungle basically
product > brand
b550

model matters
whats the difference between b450 and b550 mobos?
yeah
i personally ruled out any micro boards instantly
breh
matx board in a td500 mesh would look comical
save 40 bucks against atx
just get small case
i mean
MB311L then
ez fix
I still gib suggestion
can I use the same case I used 15 years ago?
yeah i've done micro atx builds in the mb311l
prob not
good case
depends
does it have ATX mounts?
size might be wack
erm, you want to spend a whole bunch on mobo but save money on case?
no idea
MX330-g air at 55$
send me some links if possible
15 years ago airflow wasn't really a big concern
the cursed top mount psu
so your 15 year old case probably won't be very good
15 years ago it was abnormal for gpus to even have any external power connectors
now we have gpus drawing half the wattage of a literal room heater
@timber swallow i don't like that case
pg4 too
I might have to send the cursed ds3h
talking about the other person
im going to do video editing and photography
ah okay
plus this is pc for like 3+ years unless i become a ytber and make 5k in 3 months
or something
lmao
different case
@timber swallow https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bNVfvf this should be fine
i fixed the link
you can run it with the stock cooler and upgrade later if you want quieter
but the temps will be fine with stock cooler
is good
@stoic island what was the air cooler you recommended always again? I may go air cooler after all my crazy z63 thinking
sweet. high-end for sure
i heard some good things about the dark rock pro 4
MHMMM
what about something with more USB ports?
@earnest olive tbh u12a is gonna become my go to now
it's a d15 without interfering with ram
with the godly nf-a12x25s
i'm the wrong person to ask about high end air coolers though
i want a z63, but for long term cooling idk
@crude hazel here's the thing
i'm happy with its thermals and performance too, but the snowflake made me pull the trigger
i already had a decent air cooler
Noctua fans, especially nf-a12x25 is unbeatable in performance
I was going to say almost unbeatable, but I can't think of anything that'll even threaten it's throne for noise normalized perf
btw the reason why noctua doesn't automatically make their fans all black is because painting them actually changes some of their characteristics
mhm
oooooo
so that's why they have chromax fans and then also still have brown fans
@crude hazel if you want to wait, they're working on NF-A12x25 chromax for q1 2021
Noctua spends literal years for development of each product
NF-A12x25 itself took what, 3 years?
and honestly
powder-coating heatsinks like D15 took them what, a year to two to perfect?
And they are really good because of the work they put into them.
i'm a fiend for monochrome builds with white lighting, but i still think a no-lighting build with some brown noctua fans looks sweet
i can wait, since the 3080 and 5900x stock isn't coming this year 😛
yeah i finally grew myself out of "why do i need rgb on every component"
so some parts im willing to do performance over looks
goodbye z63
This roadmap allows you to stay up to date regarding the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of future Noctua products.
for me ROOM will be rgb but the pc nahh
I didn't even know they're going for a new fan hub
@timber swallow exactly what im thinking. pc can have some clean to it
is the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus good for the price
@stoic island should i do one 75hz 1440p monitor and one 1080p 240hz monitor like sips said or somethin else
damn Q3/4 has a new generation of coolers
Hey yall can you help me
Does my MOBO have a display port
I'm confused
Website does not state it does
ryzen 5 3600 does not have integrated graphics
so it really doesn't matter what video outs are on your mobo
@foggy hazel by the way, you think they can make NA-FC1 even more overspecced, this time with 8 different 4 pin headers (moar fans, or maybe this time they'll do RGB..?), and do you think they could finally build in the rotosub thing I was talking to Hei about in cooling a while ago?
because none of them will work
wdym
Motherboard display outputs are only for iGPUs
mobo video outs are only for integrated graphics
you will be connecting monitor to the rtx 3070 directly
@crude hazel only NH-D15 replacement tho
and it has displayport
Sweet
it's the very chonky boi
Also
2 hdmi and 3 displayports
Do yall think this is all gonna fit
@stoic island when is the wedding?
Noctua deskfan is gonna be interesting
Im worries about sized
the td500 mesh is a very large case
sizes
it will fit
Q4 2020
oh damn that boi is chonk
Even with the 3070?
you can fit multiple 3090s in it lol
I have a D15, I can vouch for the size of the chonky boi
Sweet
@foggy hazel i grew out of the z63 bro xD
no no, i mean, between you and the NA-FC1
Is the airflow good
Sweet
there are 1660 supers larger than that
Q4 after seeing the replacement >:D
tsk tsk
td500 mesh has good airflow yes
Is the power supply enough yall
@crude hazel hm?
you could realistically get away with 550W but wouldn't recommend doing so
650W won't be any issue
Sweet
remember that build you help me with and was like that fan was a big problem
price wise
I'm changing it naed
naed helps too many people a day, send a link instead of asking him to remember
Would yall be interested in helping me with my build when I do it
In like a month
@still bay still think the mobo is overpriced
and in a $1500+ budget build you can afford a better ssd than crucial p1
bro i ahve a 970 evo and someone said no point get a crucial p1 its cheaper
Is it not okay?
iad
m p 3 4 time?
mp34 or sn750 would be better options
is the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus good for the price
if u know what mobo im buying (x570 taichi) then you'll know my mobos arent arguable
both are around $68 right now and are significantly better than the 970 evo
i mean
significantly better than the crucial p1 lol
the 500gb 970 evo is actually at a decent price right now
But not 1tb right
but it's not really significantly better than those two
just make sure it has hardware bios flash
a who what now
unless you have an older ryzen on hand
it's not guaranteed to be compatible with ryzen 5000 out of the box
if it isnt ill get ad iff one
does a bios flash button just auto update bios or what
it allows you to update bios via USB
all you need is mobo and power
and maybe without ram
and a cpu or no
the entire point is
you can update to a bios that supports ryzen 5000
without needing a ryzen 3000
so no
you don't need a cpu for bios flash button
bababoi
they do
really budget builds
any balanced build with a ryzen 5000 is no longer a budget build
mhm
since the minimum gpu you'd be wanting to pair with a ryzen 5000 is like, an rtx 2080 super
honestly a b550m hdv being 80$ evens out a lot of the 'saved' money from b450 for the upgradability
budget builds are still going ryzen 3000
mhm
i believe not all b450 boards are guaranteed to get support for ryzen 5000
mhm
and if they are it's not guaranteed to be soon
all amd really said was "we won't stop board mfrs from adding support"
it was more "we'll work with em, but they're gonna do most of the work"
something like a gigabyte b450m ds3h getting ryzen 5000 support is questionable
although the vrms should be enough for a 5600x
"since the minimum gpu you'd be wanting to pair with a ryzen 5000 is like, an rtx 2080 super" <- i dont agree on the GPU part there @earnest olive
for a gaming build? okay-ish
for a build in general? no.
fair enough :)
5950x + gt 710 is perfectly valid for workloads that don't scale with gpu acceleration
though i would not call a build with a $800 cpu a budget build either
gonna want some good board and cooling
aye aye
not calling it budget at all :)
going to be interesting to see how far down the binning gods makes AMD go on the cpu stack thou
now i want to see a really tricked out 5950x build with a gt 710
Anyone know the quality of SILVERSTONE LSB01 RGB LED HUB?
I’m building a rig that has a lot of rgb and 2 rgb headers won’t handle 9 fans so I’m looking around for a hub instead of A 1-2 splitter
sorry, i don't know anything about rgb hubs
should be fine
just make sure your cable management is really on point if you're putting a micro board in a mid tower
ive never made a pc before
it's not easy to make that look good
alright i might switch back one second
some mid towers have extra routing holes for micro boards
some do not
here's a micro board in a mid tower that turned out not completely terrible
nice
and here's one that did
the difference is that the first case has microatx routing holes
and the second one doesnt?
do you see any? 😛
do i need 850w for 3080
the second case, the builder just didnt use what was available there
but still it's harder to make it look good
agreed Sips :)
okay can we get a poggers
i also wouldn't be super happy about putting a 3080 inside a micro tower for airflow reasons
but it would probably be okay
christmas build budget is 1,500-2,000.
i get 200 dollars (separate) for buildimg my cousin his PC
i get like 600 for selling my current pc
just a little less okay
coolermaster MB311L only has room for 3 slots height
unless you have one of the rare boards with gpu on the highest pcie slot placement
ye is your budget us?
2800 is enough to go pretty much all out as far as a gaming build goes
you'd be fine with a rig around 1000-1500
i wouldn't spend more than that
unless you're going competitive
and are streaming ig
i was asking ye because my budget is 1500 aswell and i wanted to compare
overspending on shiny toys is the spice of life
does the 5800x come with a wraith prism cooler
no
overspending on shiny toys is the spice of life
@earnest olive lmao
yeah
good thing you have ample budget for a 360mm aio
and here's one that did
@earnest olive cute motherboard

i5 small number
he nearly spent 100 on Windows 10 home
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L48xsX
