Well there are like, 5 places that will have them (Ryzen 5000s) on release, and I have other people helping me try to order one, so assuming there is a hard release time, I have some chance of getting one. Not guaranteed of course, but non-zero.

so now I just learned that a shipment of 3070s only come in about every day and they only have 1 or 2 a day and it's only via back orders, and one location has a 20 person backorder line and they take a deposit to secure your spot in the line and it takes usually a few weeks to do.

That's why when I build my PC in an eventual future, I might just go for a Ryzen 5 3600X and a GTX 1660, since going full-ham on the latest and greatest (like the AMD 6000 Series GPUs or their 5000 Series CPUs) is not going to go well for immediate acquisition
