@next kestrel no spending 1.5k on a second stream PC is a waste
spend as much as you need on a main one
it makes sense if you want a second PC that your friends can play on if they come over
@next kestrel my opinion on that is that 10c for 450$ like the 10850k is good and a good value
or a second PC for other things
550$ is the 5900x
10850k is a 10900k for 100$ less
12 core 24 thread with supposedly better single thread perfs
10850k is also lower binned
10850k is a 10900k that isn't good enough bin
one of the advantages of intel is the overclocking
that brings cpus like 10600k to the 10900k single thread levels
yeah
and 10850k you're kinda confirming that you can't overclock much
i mean if you can buy it for 100 dollars less and you can overclock it to 5.0 ghz on basically all units
and more
Hey guys im planning to build my first pc which cpu is the best overall and is going to last longer and future proof?
10850k was literally because Intel couldn't make enough chips that were good enough to be 10900k
@north umbra wait for Zen 3 benchmarks
those are posed to be great
Can someone make me a 1000$ dollar list
when building

fun
@next kestrel would you buy a 10850k over a 10900k for 100$ less. i mean you aren't a person who wants to overclock a cpu to 5,2ghz or 5,3
i wouldnt buy a 10 core cpu in general no
5,1ghz if you are lucky is the sweetspot if you haven't a custom watercooled pc
the issue isn't 10850k vs 10900k
because i dont do much other than play games
the issue is 10850k vs 5900x, remember?
yeah i know
we're saying 10850k isn't equal to 10900k, so we can't be comparing 10900k to 5900x.
@stoic island i know what you want to say
:)
anyways
back to the start
@spark raven what do you want to do with the second PC? Just streaming?
because seriously a 600$ or 800$ second PC would do just fine for streaming.
yeah you only need a pc with a gtx 1060 or less and a entry level cpu and a capture card
I'd get at least a 1660 super or 2060 for gud nvenc
hm?
Not really unless you want to try your luck at 5900x
it's not a bad chip by any means
it just might not compare well to 5900x from what we've been told so far.
but will all x570 or b550 bords be compatible to zen3 out of the box
because they need a bios update
hello
@little osprey A bit complicated, b550/x570 with AGESA 1.0.8 (already out since like two month ago) can boot with Zen 3, but they suggest AGESA 1.1.0 for good perf with Zen 3
I want to switch to ryzen but im stuck with an i7 for now:/
i cany only think of high end asus msi or gigabyte boards
hm?
it's a bios update
for all motherboards
AGESA code updates that is
for example brb
you guys have any recomanation for a 1660 brand?
Which cpu last longer amd or intel?
i think intel
you guys have any recomanation for a 1660 brand?
@stoic yacht you can find good deals for 2080s right now
but thats my opinion
Good example from X570-plus wifi @little osprey
actually @cold sierra
@stoic yacht Msi Gigabyte and EVGA
@wanton pebble I'd wait for benchmarks for new Zen 3 chips and grab one of those
Yeah I got my 2080 duke oc for 500
@stoic island thanks
that list looks like it'll be out of date soon
How on amazon 2080s are over 1000
Just look around market place and second hand
oh
a h710 is a case which is really a hotbox
i wantewd to get a 1660 for my cousin but i have a
2070
a 360mm aio is in my opinion too much for the r5 3600
take the h510i or non i with the kraken x63
@stoic island it is i am not sure to wait for the 3090 from evga or to get a 2080ti
uh what
Like my pc only cost about 1200 to build when I have a 2080 inside and can use it well
3080 is the best value option
i wanted to get a 3080 but these stupid bots just get it instantly
if you a patient then wait it is worth it
I mean
I dont think it worth the upgrade for me just too expensive right now and I will just get the next gen when it comes
I've seen them in stock before
@stoic island did the thing load yet?
yea it doesn't give current ratings sooo
no real way to tell you how many you can daisy chain or go with off a single header
pshshhshshshshshsh
i seen a kid buy a prebuild pc on amazon and it had a i9 9900k with a 3090 and he smashed it and he was proud the total of the pc was 7000+
💀
i was crying
imagine
that's worth like 4000$ MAX
man i'm dying
2500$ if you build it
ik
is it custom watercooled
that's tough
ikr
hey guys! now that the 3070 benchmarks are released do u think i could get around 200 fps 1080p?
warzone and other fps btw
he smshed it bc it had a 200w power supply and yhim being the dumb person he is he decided not to change it to a better one then smash it
Depends on your cpu @wheat axle
@stoic yacht 200 whaaat
otherwise i already have a 3800x'
@stoic island any guesses as to how much stuff I can put on a single header
no idea
i'm watching GN video to rtx 3070
I don't know per-rgb current ratings, nor the per-header current ratings
I only saw LTT earlier today
so I watched that rq
and it gave like nothing useful
yeah you know it's Linus
like ofc there's good info like this in GN vid
RDR2 1080p fps does not give you 200fps but other less-intensive games will likely be fine @wheat axle
is warzone less intensive?
can someone buy me nitro
@stoic yacht just help people and they'll buy you nitro >:D
you want a higher core/ boost clock correct?
@outer heart for what
Is 750W enough for an ASUS TUF 3080 OC and a 5800x?
3070 and 2060s
@uneven blade we're not completely sure on 5800x power usage, it should be fine, but for a new build, grab a revolution D.F. 850w for 130$
@outer heart it's really hard to compare clocks to clocks accross generations
@stoic yacht if you're asking then you first
and remember the core count differences
Because the ASUS website recommends an 850W power supply and EVGA reccomends 750W but they both have the same listed wattage
oh yeah
i will use a gaming x trio rtx 3080 with 10850k on a 750 watt
I'm confused what do you mean new?
dunno why I typed new when I wanted to say need
Becaause I already got a 750W power supply because the EVGA 3080s recommend 750W but I've been waiting for a long time so i'm prepared to buy an ASUS but it recommends 850W so I don't know if it will run
if you already have it, wait for 5800x reviews on power consumption
watch GN, they'll 99% do power consumption testing on it.
I bought my power supply from Best Buy and its the SeaSonic Focus Gold 750 so i don't know if I can return it and get an 850W
Were you referring to a 750 or 850W?
When Ryzen 3 4200G came out?
750w should work fine
rate my friends setup
(TDP Does not tell you about real power draw, for example, 10900k tdp is like 125w, but with a slight all core OC, it's 300w draw)
@stoic yacht I'm going to hope the right side monitor is the main monitor and is parallel with the wall
and where's the mousepad lol
well its clean
i cann show you my setu
I went online and got on a wattage calculator and I put in a Ryzen 9 3900x and a 3080 and it came out to like 550W I think
i like clean and colourful setups
and by the way
that picture is on a lot of websites, so I wouldn't doubt if it's not his @stoic yacht
@little osprey meh, I like pcpartpicker's wattage calculator
or just doing it yourself
CPU draw+GPU draw+~100w system draw
they say a 10900k with a 3080 will use 1000w
who?
I can tell they are exaggerating they are saying it will use 743 W
3080 FE draw is around 320w, 375w OC. 10900k 125w tdp, 300w OC.
so that's 675w CPU+GPU draw OCed, then plus 100w system draw, so like 775w total system draw.
3080 power draw source
I don't like the look of the case tbh
Should I just see if I can return my power supply, I think I can get it back in the box the way it came, the only thing I don't have is a little plastic bag that came with it
just teporary
its ok
@uneven blade I'd wait for testing first
its clean but the cables should be better managed
ok
The problem is there is a chance I'll get an opporotunity to get a 3080 before the 5000 series comes out
the console
and the case kinda bothers me tbh
ik man
it just doesn't fit there
idrc about cable management as long as it's not in the way
and I think the PC should go where the console is, with front fans facing you.
yea
i mean everbody have their opinion on the looks of cases
If I got an 850W PSU, would I be pretty much guaranteed a powerful enough PSU?
@little osprey I mean how the case is positioned bothers me
I don't want to see the back of the front fan
@uneven blade unless AMD decides 3800x will draw 400w, yea basically.
Revolution d.f. 850w for 130$ is good
I don't plan to overclock so yeah
ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S
@stoic island ahh okay
i mean u could get a 850w psu from like taobao or something that is worse than a solid 550w psu but usually a 850w should be a decent psu
ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S PowerSpec/Lian Li ATX 205 Intel Core i7 9700KF (3.6GHz) 32GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 750 Watt those are the specs for my pc
are they good?
I was thinking of going with a SeaSonic Gold 850 because I might be able to get an exchange at BestBuy
Enermax is a name brand that's been around even sold in Comp USA, but not known as a high end like SeaSonic

Nice handwriting haha
Yeah I was saying the same thing about my Apex Gaming Gold 850 yet....
thank you i wrote it on ms paint at midnight

You can always check psu tier list
@winter marsh Revolution D.F. is listed as A tier on PSU tier list, only PSUs from Apexgaming are in tier D.
I'm just gonna keep my 750W and if I need to upgrade PSU's its only like $20-$30 more
So that would be where we get our "Apexgaming isn't as good" thing from, if we had any
yea
that works
ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4S Lian Li ATX 205 Intel Core i7 9700KF (3.6GHz) 32GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super 750 Watt those are the specs for my pc can yall rate them?
Is that a list
Or current
thats my current pc
not bad
Fine could’ve got better for price
Model matter more than brand, but there can be cases where some brand tend to be good or bad with few outliers
what is clock and latency on ram
I'm Mr. Mom everyday with a empty Fratal Disign mid tower off my left armrest, a Cougar MX410 housing my X570 build, a Zalman S4 Plus housing my z97 build, a Sama midtower I upgraded to a Msi z97, plus six more active pc builds around the room
@sullen spoke "clock" is just frequency
yes
I am basically swimming in pc tech and toddler toy brawls
i mean like the specs he list
latency usually talks about cas latency, mainly about number of cycles before read and write operations.
lol
ah
just 32gb
i should specify more xD
96000 btw

Im building my first pc and am wondering if i can ask anyone if they know some parts i haved picked out will work together
sure. ask away. send the list
mhmm
ok https://newegg.io/b8ce2cc it wont let me add a power supply but im gonna go with a 500w
ok this is why i asked
@torpid belfry https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CzpZRT
this thing literally is like 4x better than your other one lmao
ok thank you
i swapped out the case for a masterbox argb mATX case which has 2 fans presinstalled and used the excess cash for a 500 gig nvme drive
@torpid belfry @fast dust
p2 is pretty good
is the MP34 around that price?
if so, get that instead
and the meshify C has 2 fans btw, and its full ATX, leaving room for upgrade
yeah but i would take the masterbox and a 500 gig nvme over the meshify c
@fast dust usually it's p2 60$ and mp34 63$ so
You can ask your question, someone will answer :)
hey does anyone know if a cooler master liquid aio work with a asrock z390 pro4?
@little osprey if it includes lga1151 mounting, you just need to check if the case will fit.
I have 1Gig ISP UP/Down internet connection, i need router/firewall who can give up/down of atleast 1 Gig speed.
i'm thinking to give Cisco ASR1001 1001 Aggregation Services Router.
cool thanks
What kind of specs do you need it to have in terms of ports?
Can someone make me a 1000$ build list
soo uh does anyone know any good ITX cases w/o a clear side panel at or under $80?
I'm currently considering the define nano s
Anyone know what SFP is best used with HPE JL357A#ABA Aruba IOT Ready 2540 48-Port PoE+ Gigabit Ethernet 4 SFP+ Switch?
nr200p is like 100 but has a glass side panel and a riser cable but its usually oos @trail ravine
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mmd4qp 800$ budget? this good
^
get a cheaper ssd
considering what
and what ssd you think @little osprey
ok
but u could stick with the one u have if u want
ur choice
well i have a test so cya
Cheapest or best value ssd?
value prob
Look at the MP34 or SN750, whichever is cheaper
ok
If that's too pricey, I can recommend some cheaper ones that aren't bad
ok brb
mp34 is probably best for that build. About the same price as the WD blue and way better
yeah thats what ill go with
Also maybe look at a cheap b450 or b550 board vs that A series one
This is a slightly better PSU for less: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FL3H99/seasonic-s12iii-500-w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-ssr-500gb3
you can use the $14 you save on that to get a cheap b450 instead
Anyone able to help confirm this memory is compatible with my Del PowerEdge T130 server?
thermaltake view 51 vs lianli o11 dynamic xl?
It's ok. I would prefer a tuf board, but that's fine
ill look at the tuff ones
I wouldn't bother if it's too much more
Do yall know the cheapest streaming build? The one I put together on partpicker is 800$ but I'm sure theres cheaper, it includes accessories too btw.
it all comes back to what you deem "acceptable" stream performance
True
and why do you need the "cheapest streaming build"?
I'm poor but I wanna start streaming
a gpu with Nvenc and off you go
Ight thanks!
you are welcome
for motherboard do you think gigabyte b450m ds3h
@torpid belfry get the b550m ds3h
if u can
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4RdNQD my current old build.... what would u change to upgrade?
lol
lol
o hi naed
you can keep following:
naed can help
ye
the rest are just "dead end" parts
its ddr3 sigh
that does NOT mean they cannot work just fine
just that there are limits to what you can "get" from them
ye if its working fine for you then thats good
got it i got the 980ti for 1000 when it was new lol
wow
now its trash
ah, sorry, that one you can obviously keep.
i thought i had that in the list at the start :)
649
^
yeah usd i spent 1000 on my gphx card 4-5 years ago
wow
whoever sold it for that amount to you, thanked you all the way to the bank
yeas
and on a holiday after it
unless its a 980ti lightning
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 Gaming OC Edition
that's straight from past orders in new egg maybe i got ripped off a little
does the i7-10700k bottleneck the 3080?
does it matter @fringe kayak ?
is it a good pairing then
its good enough. if you are dead set on going intel and cannot wait about a weeks time
alright
ive never used amd i dont think
Reason: Duplicated text
Guys I still haven't found a good prebuilt for 1k or less
This is the best I got so far but its intel
b u i l d
rip performance
@ebon summit you are looking for a unicorn in a country that hunts unicorns for sport
rip
i thought nzxt had a amd version of this prebuilt
I wish
I was looking at ryzen pcs too but this is still better being wifi built in and stream ready
Building is just cheaper and better smh
i mean its fun to build a pc
Yes
and you can say to everybody that you build it yourselve
compared to that i5 9400f/2060 for a thousand, you could build like a ryzen 5 3600 + 3070
or whatever amd has
I want a pc built and ready for me
a lot more performance
Then do you want to spend hours trying to figure out what's wrong with a PC that was shipped to you?
just watch jayztwocents
I found this too
building a computer looks intimidating but it's really not
Because there's also a good chance the prebuilt has issues too
@stoic island I could ship it back lol
a few youtube videos and you understand most of building tbh
So you want to wait 2 weeks for a replacement rather than spend 2 hours debugging?
just buy the nzxt one its more reliable
heard mixed things about Skytech
skytech is bad
I probably will go with the nzxt
ahh my head
The only thing is its intel and I heard its not the best for streaming
they are using really cheap components
But it does say its stream ready
Then do you think NZXT can fix your things up in under 2 hours :p
Nvenc op
The gpu is good on it or no
@vital warren where's the 170$ coming from
The 2060
2060 at 1000$? Not really
i'm trusting the 3600 goes back down
@stoic island is it too much?
i aint paying 200 for it
Lol
@stoic island overpriced or just not good
It was on walmart for 170$
Because the fps for the games i had was amazing
i think nvidia recommends 650w for 3070 though
but with a low end cpu 600 is enough
though i know its just 50w, lol
@ebon summit I'm pretty sure the 2060 NZXT offers is ventus, which has a thin heatsink and likes to overheat
i think they tested it with the 10980x
ventus ew
Oh it might not be
But everything else does not look promising
B365 board
Meaning 2666mhz max speed
ah yeah

Sad
@little osprey "but with a low end cpu 600 is enough" <- even with a high end cpu, 550 would be plenty.
i thought that ram speed isn't really important on intel
the 3070 is well below 300 watts
@foggy hazel you're right
So the nxzt pro is trash?
Iirc it's 220w tdp
Hm
but 200 watt over the actual power consumption of the pc is better
@ebon summit I haven't seen a good prebuild in ages other than the occasionnal good one on sale
Should I just buy a new egg one?
the only good (as in, the parts are actually good) are generally very expensive
There was one that was 3700x and 2060 super for 1000 I think I can find it
none of what has been said here excludes newegg.
@wary geode if its the one i think it is, its using some 300 series chipset board
Yeah that’s the thing that was a issue when I reviewed it and a 550watt psu
iirc, the psu was also no-name and the ram was ... politely put, very silly
3000mhz or something like that
1660ti is a step backwards lol
We don't tell you building yourself is better for no reason
does it got the new nvenc encoder
I think 16xx has the same nvenc as 10xx, @foggy hazel can ya confirm?
i thnik the super has the new
1650 is using the previous gen nvenc
as in, the version used in volta
which is the same as the one in Pascal
and the 1660 ti
Good encoder then, but 1660ti is still step back in perf from 2060 lel
aye
is the sx8200 pro a good drive
yes
because i am looking for a good drive but i saw the 970 evo plus too
Sx8200 pro is usually much better value
okay thanks i will watch some review
Mhm
i heard that the sn750 isn't as good as everybody say
because i am looking for a good drive but i saw the 970 evo plus too
@little osprey why is good drive and 970 evo plus in the same sentence?
review on reddit
sn750 is good
Breh
lmao
I can pull up Tom's hardware or TPU reviews if you want
^
yeah pls
@little osprey if you are lucky, reddit can find the right time on a broken clock about once a day
I know at least one of the two did a sn750 review
lol
There's a ton to read through, and make sure to read all of it, and not just read one section and dip. @little osprey
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/wd-black-sn750-ssd,5957.html
thanks
Meh
no
ok no
just like any other list, it would be misunderstood from here to heck
?
and what happens when price changes?
or what about the multiple types of workload that behave differently on different bios tunings?
ugh naed
bios above = controller of the ssd
stop being such a party pooper
lmao
make better suggestions.
@vague maple hell, just read that SN750 review and see just how much there are
i refuse not to
There's a huge amount of things in there
i mean after reading this review sx8200 pro is the best value option
@little osprey keep reading
tru
better than sn750
I know you haven't read all of it
you can't go wrong without the sx8200 pro
I know you haven't.
its not that a list is useless @vague maple
lmao
ok i will continue
its that the complexity is very high on anything that is actually useful
mhm
Yea
But yea, I'd only say SN750 is within margin of error with sx8200 pro, both are good.
yeah same
I'm finished
Page 3 was the page with the benchmarks and a little text under it so i was fast reading it
good nuff
but anyways
you did read the part at the end where it talked about sx8200 pro vs sn750 correct?
yeah
good
they said that the two of them are at any means good
Mhm, and sx8200 pro will actually fall behind after it exhausts slc cache
yeah this too
more rare situation, but good thing to keep in mind
you're right
now
here is the "fun" detail
none of what you read actually will be noticed by you
yea
that's the main part I meant with
:)
the rest are just nice-to-haves
maybe shave a second or two off large transfers
that's about it
is evo the fastest m.2?
no
these rtx 3070 review are killing me on youtube. they are everywhere
nowhere near
@desert gulch Sabrent rocket 4 plus is the fastest consumer drive right now
what speeds?
upgrading from i7 7700k to 10th gen, im thinking i7 10700
7000/5000 iirc
thought
10700
o
i will never overclock
7000/6850 actually on sn850
7000/5000 is 980 pro
mr1 have you heard of project honey badger?
do you think it is a good cpu
ltt did a vid on it
10700 is very good
but id wait for zen 3
unless you already have mobo
eta on that?
retail on nov 5
are there leaks on what products there will be
Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X, Ryzen 7 5800X, and Ryzen 5 5600X
at launch
but others will come in 2021
it's not leaks, they're announced already
they're releasing to consumers nov 5th iirc?
as far as we know
yeah
yup
what about 11th gen intel
no idea
idk
between now and whenever
they haventt said
and they had all the clarity of mud in their financial call the other day
so ... yeah
heck knows
maybe they know AMD is gonna win now 😄
Does anyoen know between these 2 builds if there are 4 slots for RAM and 2 ports which would fit 2 RTX 2080 supers?
And
@ocean bolt you planning on gaming?
Yes
a single 3070/3080 is faster than what you are trying to do
Only have 1500 to spend and need a complete new PC
but you wont be getting twice the perf of 1 card
youll be getting like 170 percent perf
of normal card
so its not fully 2x
Understood about the 3k series but can’t afford that right now
you can afford a 3080
With a pc
how much would you be paying for those 2080's?
ik
Yes
what price?
i thought you said budget was 1500
Trying to o decide between those 2
second one is open box btw
Thanks for the heads up, saw that.
Any other sites you would suggest prebuilt pcs. These look like the 2 contenders for me now,
For that budget range
uhh are you a costco member?
sometimes they have some decent deals on prebuilys
backed by good warranty
but you have to have costco membership to buy
I do have a membership, haven’t checked online. Only seen laptops in store
Thank you for the heads up
yup
sometimes they dont have any prebuilts in stock tho
do you have a costco credit card?
because if you do you get 2 year warranty on pc plus another 2 years bc of card
and prolly decent cashback since itd be from them
but it has shown that 3070 is slightly faster than 2080ti at least with rtx on
but 3070 will have 3 less gb of vram
if vram is important to you
Not really worries about the GPU atm. More curious about the rest of the PC and making sure that of these 2 builds i posted that i can upgrade/fit a 3090 if/when i get one next year
But need a full PC atm
just gotta remember a 3090 in a system will make pretty much any cpu the bottleneck
i mean like a decent cpu wont be enough for 3090
so maybe worth waiting for zen 3
well a r5 3600 build doesnt tell us much lol
what motherboard are you looking at
X570 unify is best mobo don't @ me
ok @stoic island
@stoic island he said it
Lol
Mr1 team ram is best ram dont @ me
lol
xD

but i have seen that case for sale all the time @wild briar
id go td500 mesh tbh
better quality imo
true
@sturdy leaf read your mainboard manual
Alright
Boot usually means it's booting
@sturdy leaf Looks like MSI debug LEDs, from what I remember, if it's just on, and everything else works, it's normal.
It's normal for debug leds to go cpu, ram, than vga, then finally settle on boot
No it’s a brand new pc @desert gulch
@foggy hazel I mean this was stuff I couldn't get in the manual lol
sadly
I thought it had to do with the bios flashback
so I had to google for the stuff
but that was a long time ago
yes, which is why he needed to come to that conclusion himself
as in: i have read things: but i cannot find it.
okai
btw @foggy hazel I checked to make sure, the manual is not clear at all, from snippet in manual:
it's confusing asf because it cycles through them on boot
and stays on boot for a while until you boot
which again, IF he had come back with that, we had confirmation that he had actually read the manual :)
which is the point to what i am saying :)
Yea I just remember manual was unhelpful personally
so I decided to give it to em without the trouble
aye aye :)
Thank u
I'm currently in the proccess of figuring out what parts to use to build my first ever pc
I have a small budget though
And that is..?
Need to know if I should upgrade, or if what I got is still okay. Currently I am running the ASUS B150 Programing Arura, Samsung solid state as primary, Western Digital as secondary, Corsair Vengeance Ram 32G, Gigabyte 1060, and a Corsair CX600 power supply. My CPU is Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50GHz. I have been out of the computer world for a while. Also need a good air flow case. Budget max $1,500.00 USD
The CX is green if im understanding what you are asking for
if it's the old 2012 green label, I wouldn't keep it, but if it's the Gray label (I doubt it, since 600w), it's good
Yea alright
@fringe hearth what's the frequency and timings on the ram?
DRAM Frequency 1063.6MHz Cycle Time (tRAS) 36 clocks Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 374 clocks
NB Frequency 3887.6 MHz
not familiar
Or do you know what the kit is rated for?
because 2133MT/s is JEDEC standard, and default
build is probably 5-6 years old
(I know, but 5-6 years old should still have at least 2666mt/s ram)
check if it says on the sticks
@winged tinsel when are you going to be building?
As soon as I can figure out what the best parts are for my budget and then order the parts
Need wifi? @winged tinsel
wifi?
Are you going to use ethernet or use wifi?
oh fun that's actually a 2133mhz kit
damn
ohhhh yeah going to use wifi
is ethernet not an option?
re: ram: remember age of things. high speed kits werent exactly normal at the time (at a remotely reasonable price)
@foggy hazel yea, I was expecting at least 2666mhz as I assumed more "high end" sticks at 32gb
so for ethernet do I have to have a router next to my pc?
which is better?
@winged tinsel you need a ethernet cord
I could do ethernet
Ethernet is superior to wifi, but wifi is the only option in some cases
so uh LTT released a vid on the 2060 pretty much saying it was a peice of trash should i be concerned? @stoic island (sorry for da ping)
@stoic island So do you think anything needs upgraded at this time?
the what
mr1111 is gone for 1 minute lol
@languid cedar where
@winged tinsel here's a list with wifi slightly over budget

The lowest-priced RTX-capable graphics card has final...
@fringe hearth I think basically everything should be swapped
hm
hmmm
look at the date
you think that's relevant?
i have no sense of relavance
the primary issue is this part, this review was before the price drop to 300$
ohhhhhhhhhh
@stoic island Got any good recommendations haha?
they prob did that bc of that vid
I'll slap together a 1500$ list real quick, @fringe hearth what SSD you got right now?
And when are you planning to build, what workloads, and any other specific requirements? @fringe hearth
@foggy hazel I thought it was the launch together with super on top of response to 5600xt
aka. Disguised as just dropping price as a part of super launch, but really to counter 5600xt.
@stoic island Solid state is a Samsung 250g. Primarily gaming, but would like the best workload possible. Would love to go back to two or three monitors again.
When are you planning on the new build?
I see
the price of the 5600XT was known way in advance
The new build within the next two months
Hey does anybody know a bit about PCs who can help me a bit
depends on the issue
Alright I'll get started on making that list
what did you want to do with it, what kind of a budget did you have and what do you already have that you don't feel like you need to replace
I have nothing except for a desk and i have 2500 for everything
when did you want to have it
Anywhere between now and January
wasnt the 2060 ko before the 2060 price cut
ic
or something like that
just raw performance gaming or were you thinking about streaming anythign specific like must have RGB or don't care about RGB, hate RGB?
Can someone let me know if this is a good pc
Its an interesting timing as the new AMD CPUs are getting released 11/5 and the announcement event for the new GPUs is tomorrow
ah, yes, because that is a direct decision from Evga @deep skiff
Uhm what is that?😅
New Processors and new videos card
Oh okay
Alright lemme list the parts
But first off all
Is the i7-9700k good
Or can I get a better cpu for the price
like amd
I kinda like intel tho
yeah the ko was unrelated to what u and mr1 were talking about i just thought it was the $300 2060 before the price cut
@zealous edge its OK, but the lack of multithreading hurt the 9600 and 9700 for productivity - my 9600k was bought knowing this but I needed HAXM commands
aye, i remembered wrong, thanks for me reminding me about that. Its been noted :) @deep skiff
:)
Ok
So let me list the ret of my parts now
let me know if its good
and give me suggestions
Its my first build and I dont wanna mess anything up
@fringe hearth preliminary list, I'm lazy rn, I know it's over budget, but let's talk about it first.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cRYP3Z
I know stuff about computers and stuff
Not a complete noobie lol
But still need clarification that im chosing the right parts
Alright @mighty bobcat my friend send me this, is it good?
rn I'm struggling on picking a mother board for a i9-10900k since it goes well with an RTX 3080, but now I'm thinking that I could probably go for a i5-10600k and be okay for gaming and streaming
`Cpu: 9700k
oh cool, I'm a regular now
@craggy kelp for the same cost I would look at an R5 3600
Europe
what country
or wait a few weeks for a 5600x
Netherlands
oo fun
Alright
Tbh I dont really like amd cards
one sec
oo fun
@stoic island lol not rlly
@craggy kelp I assume for gaming, what budget?
2500 for everything except desk
and he has a desk lol
2500euros?
i think intel cpu are more for gaming, amd is just for overall
Yes
oh did i flip it
It’s for nothing heavy just minecraft and among us
It really depends on what the Zen3 arc gives us
those just rambling, please move it to #general-chat
People are being helped here. So please respect that.
Can you check if this could ship to you? I'm likely going to slap this in as a good placeholder in terms of headset.
https://drop.com/buy/drop-sennheiser-pc38x-gaming-headset
@craggy kelp and also, when are you planning to build?
Between now and January
@zealous edge if you have a PCPP list, post it. if someone wants to look over it, they will.
alright
OH NO PCPP IS GETTING MY HOPES UP AGAIN
OOOO
@foggy hazel can you check on your end for me to see if PCPP search got fixed?
is a power supply something that can be kind of cheaper out on or is that kind of risky
Never cheap out on power supply unless you know what you're doing
Lol i got super impatient with my cpu cooler coming from china so i just said f it and ordered an nh-l9i with same day delivery so im finally gonna build my velka 3 pc today 😄
oo velka 3 nice
@stoic island 2sec
send a pic when u finish
will du
same result as you @stoic island
thats the list
