components work in a way such that it's like running around a track, each time you pass the finish line you can start a new instruction (so like doing some math such as 1+1 or smth). Clockspeed would be the rate at which you go around the track. Stock speeds would be the rate at which you normally move at, so probably walking or jogging for most people. You can overclock said component, and that's forcing the component to move as fast as possible (so like you'd be sprinting). OCing is basically saying "run around the track faster"
