there has also been some confusion re 4000 series and 5000 series as well. 4000 series is just zen 2 w/vega graphics, for both desktop and mobile. 5000 series is true zen 3 and is currently only slated to be the desktop chips w/o graphics

If it is indeed an actual burnt smell, not just the terrible smell PSUs tend to have brand new; It could have probably already damaged wherever the likely short occured

Could there be something you plugged them into that was shorted? that might make them go bad. I am no expert on the inner workings of power supplies so I can't tell you for sure

So I recently upgraded and bought an all new computer for myself. My wife loves it and realized that she wanted one as well. She may do a bit of video editing but just very basic for her YouTube as well as picture editing but again, nothing big, mostly just hobby.
