where can one find a 3rd Gen i5 CPU?
probably ebay or r/hardwareswap
Which channel should I ask about how much a part of mine could sell for
Thanks, i appreciate it, this saves alot of money
What would a good budget for a pc build based around the 3080(or whatever AMD brings out)?
701
Nachos I think they meant the whole build
Yeah just the whole pc build
nachos just wait for when I'm a mod >:D
no stop kick before he has to much power
@stoic island you being a mod
$87
yeah if u need 32gb
@deep skiff just wait
prices might drop
And AMDs new GPU might be better
*don't quote me on that, I haven't really followed the new gpus much
In my opinion, I'd go older gen for now.
My forcast is that the 3000 series and the new AMDs will sellout quickly like the b550 motherboards did
I'm getting a 5700XT myself
A 2070 will do
it?
rt minecraft can be handled by a 2080 super
and if u buy used
u could prob find a few under 500$
Nor do I want/need RTX
I have a gigabyte 570
does everyone have a spare 500$ to spend on a gpu?
I spent $200 on my 570
buying a 144hz monitor is useless
if you want to ray trace
also used 2060 is more common
you havent bought used parts have you
Oh...another reason I'm not getting a 3000 series
I'm using a tv, not a gaming monitor
find a used 5600xt for under 200
A 5600xt is worse than 5700xt for the value
you can play minecraft vr with a 2070
Minecraft has VR?
literally
vr can be run on a 1660 super
to run high settings, you need nothing better than a 2070
if you dont NEED a 3070, there's no reason to really buy it
Everyone needs a 3070 in their life
They just don't know it
ok then get it?
if you know you need it
don't ask us lmao
why are you asking us a question you know the answer to
so funny i forgot to laugh
my bad
that statement was just as important as your entire question
im assuming thats a workstation
Anyone think I should change anything on this build?
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DominatorDomPro/saved/#view=wWCd99
looks fine to me
not the worst thing ever i guess for 600
good on you
yeah, the case had a big discussion on here to get the best one
it was pretty fun to build in
only downside is that once you remove the covers for the pcie slots u cant put back
lots of budget cases do that
but you prolly can buy some aftermarket covers later down the road
pretty much every case ive ever worked with does that

I need help
K
I recently installed corsair vengeance pro ram, 3600 hrz, So I enabled XMP profiles through my bios and now my computer won't boot at all
I can't even change it in the bios, it seems to disconnect my M and K after a few secs of being in it randomly
It was working fine before I enabled the XMP profile, though it was running at a slower speed than what it is capable of
Oh... Well this ain't good lol
@coarse coral I believe it was you that helped me a fair bit earlier this week with RGB related issues. I'm having an altogether different issue right now and I have no idea where to turn - can I ask about my build specific tech problem here?
What software are you using?
Me?
Ah, it was an x570 board not turning off LEDs in sleep or shut down, and bios not accepting the changes to Stealth Mode. We resolved it (mostly) but now I've removed AI Suite 3 or whatever it's called and my CPU doesn't seem to recognize that I'm in a game so I'm getting 5 FPS.
So iCUE is what I need to have for my Corsair fans/AIO, apart from that no other RGB software.
I fresh installed Windows this morning before work, home now and I swapped the USB for the AIO from the Commander Pro and directly plugged it into the motherboard again, no change.
Ah ok did you try update it’s firmware? try to check if there’s any software update that needs to be done.
Firmware for which? The CPU?
Yes and mobo
@coarse coral I believe it was you that helped me a fair bit earlier this week with RGB related issues. I'm having an altogether different issue right now and I have no idea where to turn - can I ask about my build specific tech problem here?
@lusty glacier yeah sure
Here's the timeline:
Day one you helped me, we mostly resolved the issue.
Day two I bought a Corsair H150i XT AIO and hooked it up. Gaming and everything else worked fine, temps were acceptable.
Day three my six QL120 fans arrived. I hooked up the Commander Pro and plugged the USB cable from the Lighting Node Core into the Commander Pro. I could control fan speeds but not RGB for the fans. I unplugged the AIO from the USB header on the motherboard and plugged it into the Commander Pro, then I plugged the Lighting Node Core directly into the motherboard. I could control the RGB and the fans and the AIO. Did no gaming so not sure if this is where the issue started.
Day four I noticed the AIO missing from iCUE, so I searched my PC for any traces of software that might cause conflict and I found AI Suite 3 and removed it. Loaded up a game, was getting 5 FPS (WoW), unplayable. Did some googling and found no results, went to bed.
Day five (today) I woke up early, reinstalled Windows, and went to work. I got home and plugged the AIO back into the motherboard and I can see it in iCUE. I plugged the Lighting Node Core back into the Commander Pro and I can no longer control the RGB (but that's a problem for another day, my biggest concern is the CPU performance.)
Here we are.
The computer is completely fine at every low resource task - I'm chatting with you on it right now. As soon as I load a game though it feels like it severely undervolts.
do you have any other programs that monitor temps launched?
Looking at system resources when WoW is open, only <5% of the CPU is in use and iCUE takes 50% of the GPU.
Right now no, but iCUE was monitoring. Speccy was matching the readouts.
uncheck enable sdk
Exactly that setup, yes
Except LNC (not pro, Core) connects with USB headers and the CP doesn't want to read it - no big deal I'll buy a LNP
Yup, PWM into CP
did you update the commander pro firmware
Yeah

I don't know what proper voltages and stuff are supposed to be... if I give you readouts from bios would that help?
(I didn't manually change anything but looking into Ai Suite, it may have screwed with it)
Day four I noticed the AIO missing from iCUE did you reseat the usb thats actually connected to the pump?
like, really push it in
Can you take a pic of your mobo and cpu please?
mine disappeared because it wasnt pushed in all the way once
I’m curious
Yeah, it's visible now that it's plugged back into the CP
Sorry back into the motherboard*
It was invisible when plugged into the CP.
that shouldnt be happening
😓
is the commander pro properly powered
its sata right?
Dang
And the AIO is definitely running
id unplug and replug everything and double check your connections
^
also when you go to icue and see the commander pro what are the voltages
do you guys think this is worth $1,100???
I can do that again. At the same time I'll unplug the LNC from power entirely and rule it out as the culprit
id try to connect as many things to the commander pro as you can
I have my corsair aio connected directly to the mobo usb
I'd know if I cracked or shorted the motherboard, right? Like it just wouldn't work at all?
Same my Corsair is connected directly to my mobo
my two lighting nodes take up both my usb slots on the commander pro
i think?
i cant remember lol
Wait a min you did crack your mobo???
Huh
I doubt it, but I'm not fond of the two-point attachment with AMD
Only thing missing now is the 3080
@fickle cradle hi, prebuilt seller here, if that's new i would price it at around $850 custom, 1000 prebuilt
1100 is quite expensive for those specs
if you are looking for a prebuilt try to negotiate it down
if it's used i would say 800 is a fair price
850 if it's used but flawless condition, just cleaned, fresh thermal paste, etc
@earnest olive Thanks! that helps alot. i just dont really know what systems are worth or not worth buying.. thank you

If there’s a crack in the motherboard it’s not visible, so again, I doubt it. I went over all the cables again, disconnecting and reconnecting, and removed the GPU and reinserted it for good measure.
I’m in the bios and the VDDCR CPU voltage is 1.488 V (3700x), and it’s telling me the CPU fan is spinning at 3947 and the PCH(?) fan is at 2230. I think it’s getting pump readings from the H150i.
EZ system tuning is set to normal, AI Overclock is set to DOCP, TPU is “Keep Current Settings” but has options for TPU 1 and TPU 2.
CPU readings: 3600Mhz frequency, 38C, BCLK freq 100Mhz, core volatile 1.480, ratio 36x.
Bios version 2606 (I’ll check the website to ensure it’s the latest)
2606 is from last month, confirmed latest.
Once more, I need help
Yes?
After installing my ram and enabling XMP, my computer won't boot
oh fun, reset cmos time
I've tried updating my bios after resetting my bios, but it won't work
I have a gigabyte Z390 Aorus pro wifi motherboard, intel-9700K cpu, and used to have corsair vengeance 2666 33 GB ram
These were two 16 GB sticks
Tried reset cmos via battery method yet?
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000025368/processors.html
Defines CMOS technology and how to clear CMOS using the jumper or battery methods.
Yeah
I now have four 3600 Corsair vengeance pros, 64GB total
I can't get my comp to boot unless I settle for the default speed
Try manually setting the voltage and all the timings to what they should be
and if that doesn't work, contact Corsair for a RMA
Oh one more thing I should mention
It seems if I run with just two of the sticks, it is able to run the speed
But when I try with four, it just takes a dump
@coarse coral ...what if it's a GPU issue? The fans don't start to spin at all when I boot a game.
is iCUE the ONLY app monitoring temps and fan speeds?
oof that might be a motherboard thing, the more sticks you run the lower the speed you can run most of the time
but, is it 2 specific sticks that can't do xmp or
I installed Afterburner and Ryzen Master 10 minutes ago
And no
I interchanged them and tested twice
I even took my datavac and cleaned all of the ram slots
for example, you can tell on the qvl
can't run everything at 4 sticks xmp
I wonder if it's a board memory traces/imc thing
QVL only means tested, if it's not on the QVL, they haven't tested it.
https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_z390-aorus-pro-wifi_191113.pdf
I finally got my to start at a slower speed again lol, I can at least use my find on page now
It would seem this isn't a tested memory
I checked asus motherboards out of curiosity as well
Doesn't seem to be there either
MY ram's code is CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18
Anyways have you tried manually setting freq and timings?
No, but I did just figure something out that worries me
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO Series DDR4 overclocked memory lights up your PC with mesmerizing dynamic multi-zone RGB lighting, while delivering the best in DDR4 performance.
So this is my exact memory kit
And I noticed it does say that it is XMP certified
But the thing is; There is another kit for way more
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO Series DDR4 overclocked memory lights up your PC with mesmerizing dynamic multi-zone RGB lighting, while delivering the best in DDR4 performance.
This is it
So I was thinking, is that why it isn't able to run the whole XMP thing? and if so; I should probably return my ram
Also, I did look at the indivual speeds XMP turned on, and they matched the specs I saw online
that's 2 sticks of 16gb vs 4 sticks of 16gb
uhh okay
But because they have a kit for more, does that mean that isn't able to run it with four and XMP enabled perhaps?
Oh I see, that difference could definitely jack up the price...
I have no damn clue then...
Anyways can you try setting frequency to 3200mhz, and timings to 16-18-18-18-38?
I will try, why those specific timings though may I ask?
tCL, tRCDWR&tRCDRD, tRP, tRAS
Because I'm thinking if it can't run at higher frequency, so try lower it down to 3200mhz and common XMP timings
Okay, i kept the default timings
But it would seem setting the multiplier to 3500 let me boot
Time to try again I suppose
It works on that confirmed
@coarse coral I ran some benchmarks, Cinebench is excellent but Heaven is reaaaaally bad. The problem is definitely the GPU - which is strange, it worked fine before I made the changes I was talking about earlier.
Any idea how I can ensure my GPU is running properly? Drivers are up to date
@stoic island well, thank you so much for the help anyways
Im gonna settle for the 3500 speed
Fair enough
@lusty glacier drivers, can try to double check the psu power cables too, gpus can still get like 5-10 fps in heaven through pci power even if no pcie power cables are connected
hmm
The cable is definitely connected but I wonder if I pinched it. I'll check it out soon, replace it with a different cable if I have one to be safe
It's my old 1060 I'm using until 3080 is available. It's been fine until now =/
so i just finsihed building the pc what do i do now
Plug it in
Typically from there, you will have to put your usb as the boot
also i dont think its picking up the m.2 drive
After that, it will automatically go into the windows 10 installation process
When you first build your pc, your storage will [have to be formatted in order to work
so like in the bios it says not presnet
Is your usb drive itself showing up?
yea
Like I stated before, your ACTUAL M2 storage will not be usable until you format it
so first i need to go to windows
Set your usb as primary in your boot order
And make it your boot drive in the process
Not a key, the installation media you created on the hard disk
But have your key ready
no like in the boot priotiry it says usb key
I suppose then
Hard disk
so the uefi usb hard disk?
@coarse coral ....you were right. The cable dislodged from the psu and I missed it. Reconnecting and testing
lol
Just try different boots until your windows 10 installation pops up
yessss
Got it?
YES IT GOT INTO THE WINDOWS SCREEN
Good
Omg. That was it. Smooth as butter now.
I'm so stupid.
well glad that fixed
dont worry
same thing happened to me
with my 1080 ti
lol
i forgot to plug in both pcie on the psu and was getting like 10-20 fps
Now I've just got to figure out why the USB ports on the Commander Pro don't work with the H150i or the Lighting Node Core.
Weird...looks like my message got removed.
my node pro doesnt show the node directly on icue
Was it a link @tawdry bone?
you just have to set it up via lighting channel
@lusty glacier nah
and pick your ql rgb fan
All good though.
I have, on both channels independently and simultaneously, it has no effect on the RGB
You're using a Lighting Node Pro or a Lighting Node Core though?
Lighting Node PRO
Ah yeah the QLs come with a Core
is THE FIRST port on the core occupied?
It doesn't have the "RGB Channel" plug, the little two prong or whatever, instead it has a 9 pin USB
I've tried on both, right now I think it's plugged into the port closer to the middle
Ohhh yeah it has six, all six are occupied by fans
okaty
Honestly I think the Commander Pro or the Core or both are faulty. I should be able to plug the H150i 9 pin USB directly into the Commander Pro and have access to it, but it doesn't show up in iCUE if I do.
and you made sure the power connections from core to sata and sata to psu is connected snuggly? xD
Most definitely - it's a four outlet SATA, one is in an SSD, one is in the CP, one is in the LNC, and one is in the AIO.
So it's for sure plugged into the PSU lol 😅
hmm
firmware is updated?
so the rgb isnt working and the aio isnt showing up?
The AIO is showing up now that I've plugged it back into the motherboard, but the Lighting Node Core is plugged into the Commander Pro via 9 pin USB and RGB access is unavailable
are there ANY other corsair products messing up?
When I plugged the Lighting Node Core into the motherboard directly, it showed up as an independent device in iCUE
Nope
commander pro firmware is 0.9.212?
Yup
so just rgb, you're able to control fan speed just fine?
Yeah, Commander Pro allows me to control fan speed
And I can control the three ML fans via the H150i interface
the sata connected to the commander pro
is the same line sharing power to any other devices
Yes
Psu -----> Commander Pro ------> Lighting Node Core ------> AIO ------> SSD
on the psu
I can do that
Yeah
Yeah - which on paper is way more than sufficient, but I'll try a new one
That’s what I mean
😠 i help everyone
any known bad side effects of using a molex>sata power adapter for drives?
Only for me, must be my profile pic 😛
His heart must've grown 3 sizes lately
New SATA hooked up, booting
k
No change
Ignore the bad cable management, CableMod hasn’t delivered yet. RGB on everything but the QL works.
Sure does, but the problem is it isn’t connected to a lighting channel, it’s connected to the USB port on the other side
sorry im a bit confused, so its lit up in that pic via USB ON MOTHERBOARD right?
but on commander pro its not lighting at all
The Commander Pro is connected to the motherboard. The Lighting Node Core is connected to the Commander Pro via 9 pin USB.
and both the lighting node core and commander pro connected to the sata power right?
(The Pro, the one you have, has an RGB/LED 2ish pin connector that goes into the Commander Pro as a lighting channel. The Core, the one I have, doesn’t have that output - it only outputs in 9 pin USB)
Yeah, separate cables now
Separate SATA cables now
Strange right?
In any case, I wanted to add that I truly appreciate everything you've done for me and I owe you a beer. Can I PayPal you like $20 for your time?
did you happen to have another lighting node core?
if you bought the two 3 packs
also you can try to switch like 1 with 6 on the lighting node core to see if the series connection is broken because previous slot 1 was weird
Nah, I thought I’d save some money by buying one thee pack and three individuals
ah i see
No change in iCUE. I know for sure the LNC is getting power because when I tried running with it unplugged the LEDs were just off, not white, no light at all
If my motherboard had three internal USB headers this wouldn’t be a problem =/
hahaha
Does your LNP have six RGB fan ports?
yes
I may just grab one of those if it's QL compatible.
You also seem to know a lot about the RGB issues, is it like that on all motherboards or did you make the mistake of buying ASUS as well?
I need help with my GPU
Brand new, LED, Fans work, plugged in.
The screen says no signal
I don't have windows installed yet.
I also dont have a USB windows or a DVD to put the disks in
I also have new parts like a motherboard and new CPU installed aswell
Six (6) port RGB LED hub for CORSAIR RGB fans.
that cam with my LL120 3 pack
@coarse coral Yeah, the Lighting Node PRO. Mine's a little different
well I tried
@little osprey
the LNP is something else
Is your HDMI cable plugged into the motherboard HDMI port or the one on the GPU?
but yeah it may help you
Ohh okay
but yeah it may help you
@coarse coral I'll buy one and try it, worst case I have a spare piece of RGB stuff
LNP doesnt have usb tho
Yeah it has the RGB connector which we know works
you can try
@little osprey does your GPU have more than one HDMI port?
I tried lol
hahahaha
I'll try again
It has 1 HDMI but 1 Displayport and 2 others
No DVI stuff
Probably other display ports
And you've got it seated and the power cable is plugged into both the GPU and the PSU, and even if you don't have Windows you've got a HDD/SSD installed?
A new SSD aswell
I need help with my GPU
Brand new, LED, Fans work, plugged in.
The screen says no signal
I don't have windows installed yet.
I also dont have a USB windows or a DVD to put the disks in
@little osprey make sure you only have one monitor/tv plugged in first.
I do
Ah
low quality cables wont work very well
I am reusing a PSU
ive had hdmi cables that couldnt work on monitors
@coarse coral something super strange for you: Commander Pro on ASUS motherboards semi regularly disconnects from USB and reconnects, and your speakers do the "do do do doooOO" every time. The fix? Plug the Commander Pro into an NZXT fan hub. Plug the NZXT fan hub into the 9 pin USB on the motherboard.
I hate Corsair but I love their lights.
@little osprey do you have an old GPU you can try out?
have you updated the motherboard usb drivers?
Yeah
chipsets too?
It's a known issue with this combination and I'll fix it eventually
I think so
go download the amd/intel chipset of your system
I lied I had 2 ports and
Sadly my old GPU ports shorted out
Luckily on my old motherboard
Ahhh no :c
The fan works in all and LED but not sure if it's in all the way on the motherboard
Oh yeah I updated the chipset this morning, I see the folder in my downloads
Middle fan of the GPU is running a lot harder than the ones on the side so
Dont think that's normal so
@lusty glacier go to device manager in windows and see if anything is showing as needing attention
@coarse coral if it needs attention it has like a yellow signifier, right? If so, all clear
And asked me to load in software
@little osprey it happens, we all miss something now and then
DVD/CD/BluRay drive
Sorry for your luck
@lusty glacier anyways dont know how else to help you, seems like the commander pro might not be responding well to windows usb drivers or something
You've done a lot already and I appreciate it greatly, I'll likely RMA the Commander Pro because it feels like the USB passthrough isn't connected properly
For now though, the PC works.
Sounds like an rgb problem
And it looks alright all white

@lusty glacier did the memory rgb during power off get fixed ?
Yeah c:
what fixed it
nice PC
Honestly? No idea. One of the things you tole me to do.
If I had to guess, it was removing Armory/etc and running Aura cleaner.
ah ok
Also one more thing, could I possibly use a laptop to download said software? I personally don't think it'll work but definitely worth a shot
Thanks @little osprey c: it'll have a 3080 later this month, then it's done. And custom cables in a few days.
can someone here give me some PC upgrade recommandations?
Yeah man, use a laptop to create a bootable Windows 10 install USB stick
With a pre owned wal mart USB
That works just fine
It just needs to be greater than 8GB, and keep in mind it'll delete whatever is on it
It has 60 gigs
Nope, just google "create windows install media USB"
If I have a code?
Windows 10 pro
Yup
Bro 20 years ago I thought finding Windows or dropping cash on a key was going to be the hardest part of a build. I'm 30 now, and in college, and it feels like every organization is like "Hey would you like a Windows 10 key with your coffee this evening?"
@lusty glacier there is one more thing you can try
this helped me 100% with my icue when i had no where else to go
...OHHHH. C... U....E
lol
mmm okay
Tbf I'm just happy that it wasn't a damaged component and instead it was my own stupidity not noticing the power cable had come out of the PSU.
so when you rma or return the commander pro
mention that windows keeps droping the device and that even tho fan controlling works the usb ports aren't functioning/detecting correctly
Will do
What’s the lowest CPU I should get if I’m planning on getting a 3080 without having it bottleneck?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nmx9hg
R8 the build ima get soon
@covert mauve https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HGQfYH
thanks
now ask your questions and someone can help you.
okay
Wth is that build
A meme I'm guessing
i can overclock the storage
Oh
Oh crap, I might need to update the meme build 🤣
meme -.-
Anyone know if I should go with the 3900x or the 9900k? For gaming and streaming.
sorry thought this was general
can someone help me build a ryzen gaming pc
Wait, the Ryzen 5 3600X?
?
To the answer from earlier, about a cpu to pair with the 3080 without bottleneck issues
can someone help me build a ryzen gaming pc
help with what part
everything
1500
where do you live
nevada
wifi or ethernet
does it have to be immediate
Lol
lol
3080 will likely fit
are you sure it can’t wait til October?
I can't wait till October's new Ryzens...
it prob can but it prob wont cause im not the one buying it i just have to tell the person buying it what i want basicallyt
3080 fits in their budget tho
or nov or late nov for big navi from amd
If their benchmarks aren’t lying I’d rather spend the extra for a 3080
3080 is in what a week?
ya
Or November I guess
wasn't it like sept 19th
17th
I think so
i thought
17th
17th for 3080
ya and how much is the 3080
700$
yes
this is actually a really bad time to build a pc xD
why
nvidia discontinued their 2000 series gpus to prepare the 3000 series debut so 2000 series is overpriced
3080 is gonna be released in time tho
ok well im definately gonna wait a week
amd is coming out with their new cpus in the coming two months so you may be killing yourself later with a amd ryzen 3600 purchase
I'm tired of telling people to wait another 2 months tbh
been doing that for the past half a year :P
gonna make a list now :P
@stoic island mike said its safe for me to say that if 3080 sells out which it prob will on first day, next resupply was around mid oct to end of oct.
well ya i dont have 2 months
Yea it's sad
so your only choice is to snag a FE early or something directly from aib website
was it zotac that had their own store?
FE early?
Please answer this question
something along these lines
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f8RgDx
Can you buy pc parts at brandsmart
no idea what a brandsmart is
My parents are bugging me saying it’s better to buy it there
But I already checked there is no parts there
ya thats good what about fans and coolers
They are on the verge of blacking out
no need for fans?
Case comes with 3 preinstalled
oh bet
CPU comes with a good enough stock cooler
deal
@granite delta I mean it looks like appliances and I guess they group all electronics together to be sold at the same place
it's like if they asked you to go to microcenter for a fridge
how about i switch the cpu to a ryzen 7 3700x
no need to go higher?
if you want 2 more cores for whatever reason, and you feel comfortable spending 100$ more for that reason
like maybe video editing
oh well then no
@granite delta I mean it looks like appliances and I guess they group all electronics together to be sold at the same place
@stoic island hm
There's your answer
I highly doubt they have pc parts only pc’s prebuilt
mhm
My parents keep telling me to wait for us to go there tmr
But I already know they don’t have parts there
So it’ll just be delaying the shipping if I don’t order the parts from newegg rn
So... I know there’s not too much info out yet about 3080 but would water cooling be the best for it?
In2?
Liquid Nitrogen of course
That’s too complicated, where can I find a cheap fish tank?
Hmmm...
Hey, you asked for best, I gave you the best options :P
ya?
So when you install windows
Does it go to a SSD or hard drive
If one is available
iirc it lets you choose?
It should let you choose from your bios
It's pre put in
I made my own PC
And
I dont have software for my uhh, GPU but
I dont have windows installed so I cant see but
..?
Is it possible to grab my old SSD with windows probably on it
what do you mean by pre-put-in
uhh you can, but windows might get screwy about getting slapped in a new motherboard
Ah
what exactly is pre put in
Like windows is installed already?
And then move said SSD
Ok so, I can be confusing
Severely
Basically, windows already installed in said SSD
There's no reason to install windows using a different system directly onto the ssd
Reason: Bad word usage
so whenever possible
@gaunt zinc
you should go and straight up install via media creation tool
I uhh
on a clean drive
take a moment
In a bad situation
organize your words
It's alright, don't just press enter without thinking though
Brand new SSD, motherboard, cpu all that
New GPU came in today
It runs, fans on LED no signal, I'm guessing because
Software needs to be installed to GPU
For it to run
I don't posses a Disc tray
Even without software or drivers, it'll still run as a generic display adapter
Any debug LED lights?
usually around where the 24pin is
I dont see it
Do you want the link for the motherboard
Ok so
LED Debug
Uhh, it doesnt show that exactly
Numbers
Dont think that's it
Different mobo manufacturers do it differently, some have debug codes, some debug LEDs
Consult your manual to figure out what the numbers mean in your case :D @little osprey
yes
@stoic island
Hai
Looks fine
Ok
I'm guessing I'd have to find something that says "Debug"
It can be easier to find the online version so you can control f through it
They can also be called boot codes
So look for anything that has to do with debug or codes in the manual
I do have the manual and
Both software setup and quick installation
Only 2 that came with it, still have the box though
With the motherboard?
Closest thing was DR debug but I'm going to try googling
What motherboard is it
Yea google your motherboard and find the online manual, and just ctrl f through it
On mobile with crappy data so I'll try looking for it, but might take me a while
I have 1 bar
At best
;(
Okay I give up, it doesn't load the support page
You're gonna be on your own for a bit :(
I have no idea how ASRock does it
You said there was a display with a code on it, so I assume that's the boot code thing
Yeah dt. Debug
It's more of how you can read it
I can't see directly
I can see the numbers
What numbers come up
10
I have "Quick installation guide" and "Software setup guide"
Only 2 books that came with
Other items are screws or stickers
Do you have other ram
Like another CPU
I meant
Me with
Pops
Oops
Memory
Sorry took me
A moment
To realize
Sorry, uh
no
What's wrong
Only have 1
Also have a USB stick but probably wont do anything
Hang on
What slots are the ram in
Last slot
Next to the 24 pin
It said the same before I think
Move it to the first one
Not last
Alright
Wait I'm double checking
What cpu and what speed ram
My CPU is a Ryzen 7 3400x
8RAM
Speed
Sait
Wait wait
Hold on
Like how most say 3200mhz
Ryzen 7 3700x* sorry
what
That's fine
Sorry
Try the first slot if not it should be the second dot
Try those two fixed
Alright
Ping me when done
@little osprey put it in both
Still says 10
I will say that it's not new
As in I used it before
Might be bad ram
huh
Used it before
8GB
Worked perfectly fine
Look at the motherboard
(Different PC)
For the battery
It's a silver battery
Its under
The uhh
Thing
Graphics card
Yes
No no
Uhh
Like
Oh heat sink
The thing has a layer
On top
Of of the motherboard
Try finding the 3rd button
On back
O fancy it's got a clear cmos button
I don't know how those work
I think you press it that's it
It has a cmos restart logo
So I guess
Should of uhh
Turned off the PC
Either way is fine
it exploded
Wat
joking, sorry I need some humor
Ooh okay I was gonna say
Stressfull
Ok so
I'm a dunce to this so my brain is like
no
But anywho
Do I turn it on
Did yuh press it
Yes
It just stayed off
Okay go ahead and try turning on
Only thing going is the mobo LED
Can y'all check the documentation for the clear cmos button
It worked before
Maybe you'll have to let it sit for a few ninutes
Lmao
Yeah
Literally says "page 19"
Shows cpu being put in
So one last check
Where is the ram plugged into right now
Second slot
Okay idea
Turn off pc
Unplug it
Press power button while unplugged
Then after that
Press the clear cmos button
Then leave it alone for 5 minutes
Then plug it back in and try
Unplug the memory, turn it on
And clear
Right?
No
Leave the ram in it
Unplug the power from the wall
Oh
Ohhhh
Lol I wasn't clear sorry
So just unplug i from the back or
Press the clear button for 5 second
Yes
Specifically the wall
ok ok
Front he power supply
From*
Then clear
ok so
Yes for 5 seconds
Unplugged power, held it
Oop
Leave unplugged
I took out the ram
Its fine I got a SSD
Okay back to square 1
?
The hell is going on now
Don't take anything out of pc
I'm trying to get him to unplug pc
And clear cmos
That's what it suggested
Reset cmos shouldn't depend on ram being in there
And he misread
Power
It said to unplug power
alright put it back in, held the cmos
wait ram isnt for the psu?
And now wait for a little bit before plugging in
Doesn't have to be 5 minutes
Like 2 mins or something
Yeah
I'm too tired for this, I'll leave it to y'all
Lol
Alright
Plug it back in or
Yes
The n try starting
nope
Still 10
Just to be a 100 sure
I don't know then
This
Yeah
Well
I tried and I'm sorry I couldn't help
It did come with a software CD
Though mr1111 said something about finding the debug lights
That's the debut lights
The manual has the codes
Ah
I see
Time to read the manual
debug light are on the mobo. if ur having a gpu issue it should say vga next to the lit light
oh do u have a screen one?
Asrock is different
ah one of those
Look at his picture
oh
It's not simple like msi
what mobo is it?
according to reddit, people get error code 10 when ram isnt properly installed
He moved it per the manual
And it's still not working
I'll probably just end up going to some local tech place though it's sketchy
make sure BOTH ends click. not just the one with the tab
But still gonna find it
Alright
I can try helping tomorrow
Again if you can't figure it out
