Hey everyone, first time PC builder here looking for some feedback on a build I whipped up on PCPARTPICKER.COM

My goal is to create a gaming rig for around $1000-$1500(CAN). Not interested in RGBs going pewpew, and do not need to game on the highest graphics setting.

One thing I am concerned about is the MOBO I chose. Without enough fan headers could I use a splitter or just plug it into my PSU somehow?

Would cable extensions help with cable management for the sake of increased airflow within the case?

Not too concerned about having more storage at the moment. However it is something I will keep an eye out for if I find a good sale on a 2TB HDD (Most likely for extra games). Is there something I can do to improve file transfer speeds from my main storage (NVME) to the secondary storage (HDD)?

Timings make a huge difference. They are latency timings. The higher they are the more delay before ram can be accessed.

I wouldn't buy parts now. however, I would research more and more until you feel you can afford parts, as it's usually better to build rather than buy prebuilt

#

typically, when you buy a prebuilt machine, it'll more than likely come with a faulty, no-name power supply (same thing with the motherboard and sometimes the graphics card)

#

and if you put the time into learning, you'll understand how to troubleshoot in case something is wrong with your PC. in those terms, it's either build something reliable and understand how to fix when necessary vs buying prebuilt and not knowing how to fix the system when necessary

I mean, if it's in your budget to keep that board, you're fine. it'll support ryzen 4th gen when it comes out, it has pci-e 4.0 support, etc
