It wont explode unless you get bad gpu
yeah im a noob pc builder
u can look at Bitwit or Jayz2cents videos
@livid sierra please understand/know this: There are no stupid questions, only silly answers.
Dont cheap out on psu
Apevia ATX-PR800W Prestige 800W 80+ Gold Certified, RoHS Compliance, Active PFC ATX Gaming Power Supply thats the one i purchased is that bad ?
not shipped yet so i can get my money back
i didnt just buy it i searched it up before buying
What happens if bad psu not my but thats what hapens if you got bad psu
OH hell nah WOOOF
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 12.4 welcome to the brand new PSU Tier List! Created and maintained by @DatTestBench, @Stefan Payne, @GreatMasterAden, @Juular, @Elisis, @Maurice from Madagascar and @LukeSavenije Last Update: 12-04-2020 Tiering of various units is opinion based off repu...
oh wow Apevia
is mine bad for my pc tho ?
Never heard of them
look on the newegg website they have it to
what did the reviews on your power supply say?
damn it only has 1 review lol
at least its a 5 star review lmao
lots of mixed reviews
but you know people be careless with the stuff they purchase
yea im looking at amazon's reviews on it
more good than anything
Imo I would buy from reputable brand with good warenty
Because you really dont need 800wats for a 2070s
you dont
And a highmid ranged cpu
But you dont know if it gonna break just saying
i use a 2080s now
which do you prefer ? thats what i was refered to when looking up good psu
whats ur total budget
try to go for modular PSU's
they are usually a bit more expensive but have a cleaner look since u can opt to not use wires u dont need
$1200/$1300
yea u can build a solid rig with that
yes
either look at the Evga Supernova G series
Aight ill do it in a sec
or Seasonic
im new to this lmao slow down
my bad lol
im a new born pc builder
Go eith a or a- psu from above
@little leaf idk what that is
ive used evga PSU's in the last 4 rigs ive built
modular PSU is when the wires are attachable
mmm okay
that way any left over wires u dont need u simply dont have to use it
cleaner look
semi-modular is when all the wires are detachable except for the power cord to the motherboard
and non-modular is wires permanently attached
yea they are lol
@livid sierra difference between a good quality non-modular and a good quality modular PSU is at most 10 usd
^
@foggy hazel corona prices dough
lol
yea the market is kinda crazy right now lol
@little leaf not seen anything that says he is buying right this second yet
right i was lucky to get my case! it was sold out literally the next morning
GPU i bought for 580 i slike 800+ now fohhh lol
but those are 3rd party sellers on newegg taking advantage of out of stock items
what CPU are u getting?
i want to go with intel since im familiar with it
No don’t
if you do anything besides gaming go amd
the 3800x is really cheap rn btw
my laptop runs on i3 ofc its very old but works great
yea intel is really nowadays solely for gaming-focused rigs
amd on top if you do anything that needs more threads or cores
what is the name ill look for it now
AMD is better for al-around use and cheaper too
oh i want both gaming a regular usage not just gaming
yea AMD is ur best bet
yea look at his list
If you looking for 1300 dollars and already got case
you talking about ryzen?
i was also looking at that to but was not sure
3800x is a great chiops
yeah i need a new power supply now lol since the one i had ordered is crap
u can cancel it
Get it cause its on sale
i did
70 bucks off
I'm still waiting on mine >->
wait whats on sale?
Oh! I got my ram today though!
wth
Corsair vengeance but RGB
its insane price
a 3800X retail is 400?!
32 gb of nice
yes
No?
i see but rn i can't afford it lol not for like 2 weeks even if it goes back to $400 ill still get it
On Amazon you can get it for 338
Msrp is 400
whats MSRP for a 3900X?
500 or so maybe?
No
499
Hmm
yay 100 bucks off
Im excited i’m building my second build in like 3 weeks
those prices are not bad at all
If everything goes right I'll have mine done by Tuesday
they arent
comparable intel chips of the same tier are considerably more
and i came from intel too to a 3900X
i7-6700K
I went from core 2 duo to i79700k
Was my uncles
i had a FX8350 before the i7 and i hated it
I wanted a gaming pc and the spare parts he had were core 2 duo and 4 gigs of ddr2 ram
but he had a 970
970 was an amazing card
this was actually my first build where i went wild with my budget
cuz ill be stuck at home for 3-4 months might as well make it worth it lmao
but then some error occured where a few of the cores weren’t showing up
Reason: Bad word usage
@silk estuary imo should’ve went with 2070s
2070s great card
I'm waiting for the next gpu series to come out before i get a better one
rumor has it the 3080ti is gonna be one hell of a beast
I'm sure it will be
i actually waiting to see what the new Ryzens are gonna be like
I'm also sure that the 2080ti will drop in price, lmfao
rumored 15-20% better performance than 3900X
thanks for everything again! ima head out
Drop harder than a sack of potatoes
@silk estuary why would the 2080ti drop in price?
Next time I upgrade will be after 2 new gens of gpu
np @livid sierra
Cuz a new series would have come out?
1080ti didnt drop much when RTX came out
Drop prices on the older gen so you can make room for the newer gen
Or at least, there'll be more "used" sales
@silk estuary nah, just launch at a higher price
people are buying the current TI at the current price
which, has NOT been selling at its actual MSRP since launch
Yeah... 1,300 dollars
Whats it actual msrp the- bruh
for FE/oem?
welcome to the "supply/demand" market
I'm sure current times aren't helping
didnt need a 2080ti cuz my most graphic heavy game is my flight sim
I know what you said
time will tell
but from my pov, i dont see a logical reason (right now) for nvidia to launch at a lower msrp
tomorrow is just the architecture reveal (if we are lucky) and the reveal of the HPC cards/models
aw
at least, that is all i am expecting
I need a monitor
what kind u looking for
can anyone recommend me a 700$ pc build for my friend, he wants to start gaming on a pc, he wants to start with apex, fortnite, and siege
i went 7 hours without error, but as soon as i boot up the crew 2 i get the same black screen, still having audio for about 5 seconds. complete shutoff than upon reboot it's a good single beap followed immediately by a gpu error code
@tough ridge https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NzTbf9
you can shave off some cash from the case or downgrade the cpu
3300x sounds good but its price hasn't been updated yet
@tepid basalt that MB is out of stock and isn't reflected in the pricing
@tough ridge https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3rHff9
The GPU is a bit older but will still play all those games very well
You could drop the ram in my list to 8GB and get a 1650 super for more performance, but 8GB might be a bit tight in some games, if you can spare about $40-60 more just go straight for the 1650 super
One of my friend told me that case fan doesn’t really help temperature that much and it’s just make a bunch of noise is that true
Let me put it this way, the way an oven works is that it is an enclosed area that heats up with heating coils, if there was a fan in the oven it would not work as well. Different fans are more effective than others and airflow direction helps to move the heat from the case. So having an intake ( air going in) and exhaust ( air going out) really helps keep the temps down
cool air in, hot air out.
it's not big science.
as far as 'noise' that's debatable 🙂
variables = brand of fan and speed of the fan.
some fans you can have 100% and hardly hear them but others they are insanely loud.
@shut rampart that's true if you never turn the computer on, then it can't get hot 😄

One of my friend told me that case fan doesn’t really help temperature that much and it’s just make a bunch of noise is that true
@shut rampart
All I got to ask is what is your friend smoking? sounds like some good stuff I want....fans DO help, think about it, if fans did not help cool PCs and move cool into and hot air out of, why are they in just about every single PC? (fanless designs excluded)
Alright, here are my specs, I'm trying to get into streaming, but don't know what I should set my streamlabs settings to, so the stream dosn't look bad.
-Ryzen 7 2700x
-GTX 1050
-16 gb ram
Let me know if I need to give anymore specs
as for streaming I can't really say much on that, but good internet connection will help also, as for the hardware I would say you got a good start, might need to bump up the GTX 1050 a bit, but I will defer to someone who runs a streaming rig to better advise
Alright thanks
I've been looking into the rtx 2060 super as an upgrade
That should be enough
I would honestly wait for the new Nvidia cards to drop but something tells me they may be some what lackluster in some respects....still waiting to get more info tomorrow and see what Nvidia holds...
hopefully AMD gets a fire lit under there britches and comes out with some new cards with RTX functionality soon
Yeah
I'm gonna wait until the 3000 series gpus, hopefully the 2000 ones will drop in price
That's my strategy too lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8BTxPn anything i should change?
looks good
yikes the prices are all wack
budget?
its was like $780-800 at some point
@fossil coral Oh the 3300X is cheaper and performs about as good as the 1600AF
and yea PSU prices went up cause of the shortage
thats out?
your MB is out of stock and isn't even counted in the total
b r uh
you could use a cheaper kit of ram
yea its approaching 3600 at that price
psu way overpriced
why not a mp34 for an ssd
definitely agree. i am about to finish my build this coming friday and the whole experience has sucked due to human malware
yeah i dont even have the money for what it used to be, this is for future reference
i'll prob change some stuff eventually
well in that case all of the prices are going to be hopefully dropping back down by the time you buy it
ye
i think you can get a similar case for just a bit cheaper as well
unless you are like me and absolutely had to have a white one at a bit extra cost lol
yes
i am like you
i would've gotten the standard nzxt case but i heard it doesnt have the best airflow
i like the compactness of the nzxt cases but i wanted something that was way different from my brothers build. which is why i went with a corsair crystal 570x white
but yea you just want somehing that has decent airflow and a design you like, without breaking the bank. and huge ups if it comes with case fans pre installed
the NZXT case is a meme XD
they are also way cheaper, but obviously have less airflow than the meshify
yea its definitely unique. i dig that front panel
looks cool imo
form and function
best of both worlds
and yea from what i can see, that is the cheapest meshify white case
yea
before human malware, and actually like 2 weeks ago or so, they were only 60 to 70 bucks
you use USD right?
yea
okay yea they were about 60 to 70
just gotta wait this out ig
and that honestly sucks. i wanted to wait it out, but i wanted my build ASAP lmao
either way im not exactly getting a lot of money rn so it'll be a while before i can afford it anyways
im considering flipping items on ebay to get more money
yea i bought my parts from paycheck to paycheck, since i only make minimum wage and cant work much since im not 18 yet
and that could definitely work
im 14, i can technically get a part-time job but i really dont want to
im just not ready for that stuff
well its really hard to find a job at the age, and on top of that, since the coronavirus is blowing around, a lot of places are closed and arent looking to hire. i got my first job at 16, now im 17, and ive found a lot of places really look at people under 18 as a last resort, and i couldnt imagine how difficult it would be to find one if youre under 16, let alone with covid 19
thats the smart thing to do. mow grass, shovel snow, etc. slowly but surely, as long as you save, you could get there lmao
i have no excuses to not do that other than im too lazy which is DEFINITELY not a good mindset for me rn
i started my build back in late february i think, and this friday im buying the final part. and thats only because the nursing home i work at raised the wages because of the difficulty of the time with the corona, otherwise i probably wouldnt have got it until june, july, or maybe even august
Nice
yea its really exciting when you get it all put together. its kinda awkward looking right now because the computer is all built, except the cpu socket is empty and the AIO is just kinda hanging out because it has nowhere to go lol
im just scared that the r7 3700x will go out of stock by the time im able to buy it
i feel like i would much rather build it all at once
couldnt stand looking at a pc thats not done
would be torture for me lmao
Im saving enough so by the time the 3000 series gpus come out I can buy it
so would i, that way you have less chance to damage something, but at the same time, since ive been waiting months, effectively working for nothing, i wanted something to at least look at to keep my motivation up to keep buying parts
Probably using intel gen 10 i9
Since the amd socket is discontinued anyways after this gen

Would have to change mobo anyways
I went ahead and bought my case early because it was on sale. Everything else I'm waiting until after the release of the b550 boards next month.
i have a 2070 super in my (unfinished) system right now, and then save up for the beastly 3080ti/3090. and for the motherboard, i bought an x570 to avoid that issue. i wanted it for the corsair mp600 gen 4, but i lucked out.
how much is ur finish build gonna cost?
jesus
2000+-?
must take forever to get that money
I have 1600
hopefully it won't be more expensive than 20 series
im not spending more than $900
yep, since late feb to now
I wanna leave some left so bank doesnt get mad
I admit to not having it in me to wait until the Nvidia 3000 cards release or AMD's Zen 3. I'm just waiting for the b550 boards because I knew they're coming next month.
hopefully not, and i honestly dont think it will, seeing how pascal gpus are still around the same price of turing ones
depends how long it will take for me to make my money
which, at my current rate, is a long time
its really hard to discipline yourself. i know that feeling @cold sorrel
i do chores for money so i usually dont make more than $16 a week
bo3 is fantastic, if youre only buying it for zombies
nice price lmao. and yea @fossil coral but by the time you get a job, money will feel so much different, it was really weird for me. my first paycheck, i got $300
ive watched none
Cool stuff
well i had this terrible mindset that i wanted the best and i wanted it now
What gpu?
2070 S, paired with r7 3700x
yea ik its kinda overkill for my needs but i just wanted it so badly lmfao
I get it
im getting a 3080 ti tho, eventually. no questions asked. especially with next years tax return
The stimulus is supposed to be the tax return
so if you got stimulus that takes from return
the stimulus was only part of a bill for economic impact so the economy didnt fall apart during this time. it is tax exempt and the money was yours to do whatever you felt like with it. you still will get a full return next year
Oh lol
yea but my mom got the $500 for me and let me spend it how i wanted, bless her. i still wish i wouldve got the full $1200
then i wouldve bought a 2080 ti
but now since 3000 is right around the corner, im sort of glad i didnt
Linus: Today we have 2 NVIDIA Titan RTX's, a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, 4x16 gb rgb ram, and water-cooling. Yep! We're doing a budget build!
yoo i called that the ampere gpus would have 3 fans on the reference cards tho
kinda off topic but
3 fan looks sick
think about it tho
pascal were blower style
turing were dual fan
it only makes sense
when they drop, im definitely getting an EVGA FTW3 3080 ti
thatll look beautiful
price speculation?
$1600 mayhaps
the evga 2080ti ftw3 is about $1500
How bout NOT picking the more expensive version lol
its tough! lmao
i just microwaved an uncrustable help
yucky
why
the intelligence is through the roof
my hand is hurting
i wonder why that is
i got a frozen one to cool my hand down
im talking about the 3 most recent
pascal: 1 fan
turing: 2 fans
and then ampere will have 3. reportedly, anyway
and Volta is between Pascal and Turing
but yes i get what you are saying, im just refering to the reference cards of series' of gpus
technically 2
the other architectures are for whole lines
and the Ampere rumours are just that, rumours
I know my mobo fits into my case, and my cpu fits into my mobo but how do i make sure my gpu can fit into my case
it is way way way too early to start talking about desktop variant cooling solutions on products that have not even been announced yet
what gpu and case?
@untold trail check the manufacturers page for both products. Normally , it will tell you the numbers you need to know
length/height of the card
gpu as in graphics card, sorry
oh my b that was a mess up on my part. radeon rx580
that case supports up to a 410 mm GPU, and im sure youll be just fine
what brand rx580?
the dual fan one?
yes
well those were blower style cards, not really a "fan" design like most GPUs
its about 230 mm so youre a okay
the clearance in that case for a GPU is 410mm and that card you picked out is only 230mm so youll be okay
hes referring to what i said earlier i think
thats alright
@foggy hazel I think in general most have forgotten about volta...
also if were talking about this little (big?) guy, all I see is a data centere oriented device similar to the Quadro just with functionality added, Cool, still waiting to see what the "consumer" side will bring but so far not thrilled.....though having the Mellanox integrated is a plus....
Anyone know what this sound from my pc is
A silent video? that is black screen?
I hear air moving, and that's normal
I can barely hear a fan...
U not hear fan rattle
If my fans in warranty could I get my money back or nah?
@muted dawn you would need to contact the seller for questions like that, it really depends on there policies and what now, same can apply to the MFG of the fans as well
as for fan "rattle" it could be that your fan is simply loose IE toghten the screws some or put anti vibration rubber pads/feet on them and done
Hey guys, I've been having a problem with my computer that I believe could be an issue with the cpu, but I'm really hoping it's not
whats ur problem
For some reason I've been having random lag spikes in my games and normal applications where my ping spikes up for no reason,I've also had my task manager open in order to see how it impacted my computer and the cpu percentage also shoots up(on normal applications from 8%->~30%) could that be an internet is it my cpu?
Yea, thats pretty normal
something might suddenly want to load in
or start up
causing CPU to ramp up for a second
@orchid coyote are you looking at your CPU graph in multicore mode? right click the graph and switch to logical processor view
I just switched the graph
having a one of your cores super over taxed can cause a game to stutter
and currently wifi, but I'm getting my ethernet working fairly soon
How do I make sure that it doesn't get over taxed?
what's your internet package? and type of router?
i7-7700k, and pretty much every game
probably needs a good network reset
Wait wait wait, @orchid coyote are the lag spikes you're talking about Ping spiking, or your frames stuttering causing lag
so are you connected to your network by 2.4G or 5G?
@stoic island I think both?
Oh what's your GPU?
and normally 5G
sorry for the question barrage, its better to help you lool
The more we know the better.
So does your fps drop to like 10fps every once in a while?
Frame stutters are usually CPU based
game on SSD?
thats what i figured
are your games using the 1080? or is your integrated graphics the default?
@sudden turret for the most part yes
you might wanna check that in NVIDIA control panel
crap performance in ALL games might be your default GPU is the IGPU
@eager chasm I'm pretty sure it's using the 1080 or most of these probably wouldn't be able to run at max settings right? 😅
they AREN'T running at max settings
you just said you are having problems in ALL games
yeah but it can run, just the occasional lag spikes
hm
but you have a point
but it's not your worst fear, your cpu is fine 🙂
right click your desktop and open the NVIDIA control panel and double check your default GPU
just to make sure
where would it show my defaults?
@orchid coyote what are you plugging your (i am guessing) HDMI cable into, the main board, or the GPU?
if your not sure take a good clear picture of the back side of your PC we we could go from there also, if you have a GPU (external) your PC should (generally) not be using the onboard iGPU (most boards will auto disable the iGPU as well)
my moniters are connected directly to the GPU
no worries (:
ok, so we can at least establish that (in theory) the PC is using the GPU at this point
Is it possible for you to go in a game and record when the spikes happen?
is it only online games or ALL games even single player?
I'm pretty sure it's also single player, but it's been a while since I've played a solely offline game
(With rivatuner and msi afterburner osd would be ideal)
but my concern is that it happens out of game too, just not as much as I realize
have you updated your drivers with GeForce Experience?
@stoic island while I understand the idea behind that recording could also introduce additional "spikes" and if its happening on all games that may indicate an issue with settings with in the Nvidia Geforce experience program which I would suggest making sure it is up to date, and also checking for the latest drivers
like my typing would freeze up on discord and my cpu spikes up
@orchid coyote I would suggest checking for a driver update as it sounds like you may need to update them
I just updated my geforce drivers 2 days ago and the problem still remains
and I agree typing causing a freeze is not normal
@pastel briar It shouldn't affect it much as recording does not take much CPU power, and I believe a 7700k should be able to handle it just fine
I wonder if it is something with the CPU
sounds like something is over taxing a core but it's not a game
what could it be?
sooo back to my original idea, but look for a different source
too bad I cant get a good look at your task manager to see if there is something going on
yea
or hwinfo or something similar to check CPU frequency & temps & stuff
cpu-z or smth
@orchid coyote press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, then go to the start up tab and show us what's there
I like a smooth fast startup XD
always good to clean up the startup
most are disabled so meh
finally got my psu 🙏🏻
good
i have too many https://i.imgur.com/Sc93l0G.png
dayum
adobe smh
my Bios time WINS
except it’s on back order so i have to wait 2 weeks for it to ship
suck it!

I mean ryoku you want me to disable all my stuff
for some reason my print screen is being wonky, give me a sec
and reboot?
my windows snipping tool doesn't like me, so i got sharex instead 🙂
@pastel briar thats one variant of it, the other (and imo main) variant is a SXM one
brb
@foggy hazel right, but I am not going to jump on the Hype train like most people seem to do 😄
I don't believe I'm allowed to send images on here
ick
DM it to me
not until lvl 3
got my bios time to 18.4 sec
I'll post it for you
good nuff I guess
lmao
my ssd is 90% full anyways
I can't complain with 18sec
900gb/~950gb usable
ngl, dont even know what some of that junk is
gonna clean it up
also while looking at the application processes for CPU during the lag spikes, the thing that spikes up is strangely windows explorer
file explorer
ah, right ofc

cleaning stuff up time
already uninstalled/moved install folder for quite a few games
like csgo
what kinda mp4 ya got there
ahh
wait so is there anything else I should do?
bc some I already scrapped together into videos
i know most of it
leave it alone :p
the only thing I don't really are delayed launcher and the creative stuff
look at all of these siege clips lmao @sullen spoke
man how long are they
i moved all my old recording to a separate drive
I delete them once in a while
I combine clips into vids sometimes, and move that to a separate drive
so I can delete the clips
Himachi....good ol' ham n cheese....that can go away, that will cause similar issues, some of the other things like the corsair stuff, and the killer thing, java and java can also be changed to not start with windows (or run on there own unless you want them or need them)
i like to keep records of everything https://i.imgur.com/Ef8Krym.png
@orchid coyote nothing super unusual in your start up, do you have an anti-virus?
Nothing besides the basic windows one@eager chasm
@pastel briar alright I disabled those
@orchid coyote I would suggest rebooting (verify the respective programs "start with windows" function is off) and that should help some
also if you have any type of AV running I would suggest turning it off temporarily to see if its causing any issues as @eager chasm has suggested
How do I check the start with windows things? Is that just the startup applications
if not I'd look at possibly getting an antivirus and running a scan cause random spikes of processing that stall your computer aren't normal
@orchid coyote usually the applications will have with in there settings an option along the lines of "start with windows" or similar wording wise that you can set to off or untick
are there any free ones you'd recommend? @eager chasm
@pastel briar ah okay, I don't believe I have any with that on, but I'll check
malwarebytes is fine
yay I just purged like 300gb of stuff off my C drive
Malwarebytes is pretty neat
time to run cdm
for fun
weird
whats with my q8t1 read?
well after rebooting I didn't seem to run into any lag spikes, and now I'm doing a full scan on windows defender just in case
it's normal for the CPU to increase a tonne while running that correct?
@orchid coyote with in a reasonable amout yes there will be an increase
so not 80% cpu?
Anyone have experience using a touchscreen monitor as a 2nd or 3rd monitor?
@zinc beacon it would work, depending on your case, if it takes a full ATX sized PSU your fine, if your case is a SFF and takes a SFF sized PSU then you will need to get one that is a smaller size
@half crown not really, but what are you wanting to know, perhaps I can try to guide you in seeking an answer
are there problems with psus fitting into cases?
My old PSU was 500W but very cheap so it exploded
@untold trail is that a question for me or for @zinc beacon?
I just don't wanna spend money on something that'll blow up again
i wanna make sure my case isnt a mistake
@cursive wharf psu stuffs come help
@untold trail ok, as for issues generally no, just need to be mindful of the case/PSU size in some cases (no pun intended here)
yeah im not sure how to interpret measuremeents
@untold trail what case do you have/did you purchase>?
td500 mesh
what psu did you buy?
EVGA BQ 500 W
your good
cool
case and PSU will work fine
thanks
though I would suggest for ease of cable management going either Semi-modular or full modular
@stoic island pretty much said what I was about to say 😄 so yea
no idea wtf that means
idk if anyone cares but gta is free on epic games store rn
Small-form-factor
that just referrs to size of the case
what does sfx stand for?
@untold trail generally yes, but I can even cable manage my 4u rack mount case (and have)
I actually don't know :P
@stoic island id have to look it up honestly
ill stick with this for a while
lmao I guess they just wanted to add a X for some reason
so gpu, mobo, cpu, and psu are all accounts for in terms of accountability. Anything else i should worry about
@untold trail not much else, just want to make sure (if your using a Ryzen CPU mainly) your ram is "compatible" with the CPU (speeds in MHz) and is of decently fast speeds
mind if i send my ram and cpu and u help me out?
thats fine
not sure how to make sure of that
I bought that pre built. psu blew. Im checking to see if that other psu will be a good idea
ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6 core, G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Why did that send 3 times smh
I was about to ask why you spammed the same images three times
Im so sorry
@untold trail your memory would be fine, I would suggest if you can considering slightly faster memory speeds if you can afford doing so, Ryzen does benefit better from higher speeds
I don't know wth happened
uhh sure
@zinc beacon not a big deal, I gathered what I needed info wise so all is good 😄
@untold trail again they ARE fine
i put my rx 580 back in to see if i could play games for more than 5 minutes without my pc shutting off and now it won't even boot into bios
i did
no problem
i think ill stick with these tho
im severely over my original budget
i'm getting really mad rn
@untold trail I just personally would not go below the 3000MHz speeds with Ryzen
@zinc beacon that an i7700 runs about 130w max to to be safe let’s say it’s 150 for your system. A gym 1070 can run up to 220w on full load. The rest of your system will take 100. I recommend getting a 550w psu
Ok. Thank you. I'll go look for one on NE
@midnight pelican I would have suggested a 600W or a 650W but that is just me 😄 (plus it gives a bit of extra head room to work with, assuming your system does total out to 500W continuous load which will not always happen)
ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6 core, G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
@untold trail
Link to memory??
Dont know why its doing that crap.
mwe white
I hope it deleted them
weird
huh
theres a MWE gold, MWE Bronze, and that
dont see a mwe white
so I assume they classed mwe white as just mwe 80+
God damn, I can't win for losing.
yea check the psu tier list hei pinned in this channel
No matter what I find, nothing is ever gonna work
i'd try to get B or higher
Yea if I wanna spend 200+ on a power supply
since I set Corsair CX as my baseline
yuh
can you just wait
No not really, my son is coming to stay and needs to be able to do his school work.. i'm stressing out
can somebody please help me try and fix my pc?
i've tried 2 psus and still no boot
2 graphics cards, no boot.
motherboard
no way dude
is everything plugged in right
what
@pastel briar I wanna use a small 10-12 inch touchscreen monitor as a 3rd monitor solely for pc monitoring software and discord
its motherboard checking time
if i have to buy a new x570 board i'm gonna get really pissed off
what is it right now
@hollow grove if it is the motherboard you can rma it
what is the issue
Honestly people blame PSU more than needed, and GPU more than needed :P
Motherboard seems like the most under-blamed part
everything is turning on but i'm not getting to bios
mr1111 mobo hating gang 😳
Ok I'm getting the EVGA 550M B3
why
Hope it works
why not cx 450w
yeah
without even clicking on the review..
Hello hello
It's not rated on the PSU tier list
Damn :/
Hi
a lot of people think you need a 600w+ psu, when top end parts can easily run with 400-450w of power
Yea
Just talk @onyx whale
Is there a place I can link my pcpartpicker setup I'm looking into so I can get some advice about it
Here
Ah alright
Yeah
Well right now I have an Intel i5 3570k
Just chat
@stoic island For SFX and the extra "x" I'd say comes from ATX
ATX: "ATX (Advanced Technology eXtended) is a motherboard and power supply configuration specification developed by Intel in 1995 to improve on previous de facto standards like the AT design"
I'm looking to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600X or 3700
3600 is enough
@cursive wharf but that doesn't fit in any word in "small form factor..."
Right now I have a 500 PSU Corsair, I'm thinking about getting a 750
@stoic island wdym Small Form facXtor
Small form extended?
Can you run a pc on jus ssd and not hd?
mr1111, idk, maybe
Yes
yes
Zix yes
Yes
Fs 😘
hmm
I have an ASUS P8Z77V-PRO DDR3 in it
I honestly don't know what I deleted when I wiped my drive
Ty
@onyx whale just let someone post 4 u
Nice
Dm me it
@modern shadow no prob
Just some games I barely play
@onyx whale Do you have a 3990x OCed and 2080S or better? Or a 3700x and 2080S SLI? If not, why 750w?
lmao
Good point.
add in "10900k and 2080"
@onyx whale turn off private
bruh mATX psu time
Is their shipping prime worth the upgrade?
Like 3990x tdp and 10900k leaked power draw is pretty damn close
3990x tdp is 280w
10900k leaked max power draw was 250w
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/catmancatplan/saved/qv8qpg @onyx whale link
Here
Review
3990x OCed is about 400w, which is what I went on
@deep skiff oh F no! not the Chinese IED bargain bin PSU!
PBO rather
@onyx whale what gpu?
well
And I am considering getting a a 2070 super to replace the 970 strix ASUS
10900k leaked stock was 250w
but stock is the TDP for AMD usually
Hi i was looking for suggestions as want to buy a mechanical keyboard fullsize with meida control budgeting around $130 mainly for gaming
I'm gonna wish intel fanboys luck
I'm just looking for basic 1440 gaming at 80 to 100 frames per second
i'm about to just sell my pc, i'm done with it constantly failing i'm about to go back to consoles
Lol, I seen a nice post about the 240mm AIO having troubles cooling a 10900k. Comments had people mostly saying that the AIO was trash rather then just believe that Intel is dying rn
12-1600
Yea I saw that
USD
12-1600 USD**
idk, I never really read the post
Hei you want to make a list? I'll be off to eat lunch
lmao i wanna see how low the 10900k has to go for it to hit the 125w, idk if the base clocks are that low
Hypercore posted my Redux link
Does anyone have any recommendations for sites to purchase laptop parts? I know somebody that's looking into purchasing a laptop, but is having a difficult time finding the specs they want. It isn't for gaming, just for work
So is my Corsair 500 watt PSU good enough for the tomahawk pro as well as SSDs and new RAM?
@onyx whale why such an expensive case?
I'm not seeing laptop components anywhere
Hypercore, I purchased it years ago on Black Friday when it was like 80 bucks
Oh
The monitor the case.
Those parts you see listed like the Western digital 2 blues SSDs are what I'm looking at for OS and one of them for games and other programs
Is there a difference between running the OS off of an m2 stick on the motherboard
faster
That's just for login though right?
I mean m.2 is great for everything
And I'm definitely looking to upgrade my monitor because it flickers a lot
@onyx whale Okay so I was juts throwing 650w out there because those are more common than 550w, and have better luck being in stock
550w is fine if you can find a good one in stock
Right now my main thing is probably the GPU and the CPU
@onyx whale Get this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PW8dWb
there goes hei
PSU is backordered btw
actually that isn't bad, 2-3 weeks.
rmx850w was the one with 4-5weeks
just glanced at the windows thing and i was like no way hei is gonna put a $100+ key in there
Why the Ryzen 7 and not the high-end Ryzen 5?
... "high-end Ryzen 5" ..?
500?
cheapest 2070S are 500 rn
@deep skiff @cursive wharf I disabled best buy in my preferences because best buy has most things out of stock, but still shows as in stock
and as you can see, it is out of stock.
cheapest decent one was 550$ when I checked
I'm on until but I'm looking to go AMD.
Is a gigabyte RTX about as good as an ASUS RTX?
So rx 5700 xt?
pcpp is high
I've also been looking at the RX 5700 XT
It's between that and the 2070 or 2080 super
@onyx whale the difference between the different companies (asus, msi, evga, etc) are just who makes the coolers, one brand isnt better than the other for everything
Gotcha so it's basically customer opinion
5700XT is a good choice. The 2070S/2080S isnt worth it unless you have the budget, which you do
And vrms
And different brands have different customer bases
except amd gpus never buy asus
Ps5 or pc
pc5
Right now my tower is basically all Corsair, the ram the tower the PSU
Heard they been saying that the ps5 will be better or the same as a high end pc
The main reason I got this case 5 to 7 years ago was because of the capability of expansion in the future
Zix we'll have to see
I got my stimulus check recently, so I'm going to be waiting two weeks and I'll have roughly $1,800 to spend
yeah and pretty sure a navi based card wont beat a 2080 ti rn
Heard the democrats are hand out up to $6000 per family 💰
Yeah they just have to have the president pass it off or some like that
It’s gonna be 2k per month
So what's the difference between big Navi, the one Nvidia is coming out with Ampere?
No more politics and money
Nd still 500 per kid
No problem hypercore. Still learning the rules here
big navi/ampere are still rumored for performance, we just have to wait
So is the consensus the 2070 super or the 5700X Radeon
2070S for performance, 5700xt for value (has slightly buggy drivers, no nvenc encoder, not rtx, and a few other features missing)
RTX has confirmed ray tracing which is something very foolish that I want, and I know it cost a little extra but I think it's going to be worth it
except only like 5 games have RTX lol
Shame
Minecraft rtx
Quake RTX
I prefer PTGI for java minecraft
On launch it was like 3
As of April 18th there are 14 of them
Remember seeing like 20
