here is an interesting video that shows paste application. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/geg0l0/very_interesting_demo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
@little leaf why 3100 tho? The core to CCX layout is bad compared to 3300x and that cant be changed
I'm glad I jumped on buying my case when I did. It's now out of stock on Newegg with "Sold out"... meaning it might be a discontinued model at this point.
what is Aorus lighting software called? ๐ค
some face up and some face down. mine faces up @cloud drum
hmm
bad hdmi cable?
@cloud drum if your case is vented under your psu, face the fan down, otherwise face up.
@cloud drum check gpu connection time psu at psu and at gpu.
Check your connection between your psu and gpu
And I was saying to check both the connection at the psu, and also at the gpu.
The GPU is on
Did you gpu some loose from the mobo
Has the pc worked before
Come
I would start at the monitor, and work your way back. Make sure monitor is on and has power, secure display connection at monitor, secure it at gpu, secure gpu to mobo
Maybe itโs not posting
The monitor works I tested it with the Xbox
Are your mouse and keyboard wired into your mobo io or your cases front panel io?
Check if something like the ram came loose
Mobo and case
Is the power supply working? ๐ค
@cloud drum those 2 cables are connected to what?
The case fans and SSD
okay
that is practical, if you want the GPU to actually power on.
you didnt read any of the manuals did you?
No
We have a much easier time helping you IF you actually try to help yourself
I found that the hard the way
ffs
its a solid enough one
i dont know anything about that specific PSU thou
the rest looks solid enough
personally, i would go for a bit faster ram
but that is about it
Whatโs faster?
Later down the road imma add RGB
as i said, your list is solid enough
I think I posted a 2x8 in #tech-deals for a decent price
just get corsair if you want rgb or trident g-skill
@sudden turret I donโt see it
@fair ermine which one?
93 bucks for 3600mhz cl18
Thatโs actually a good deal
@sudden turret is there any deals on mechanical keyboards?
probably ๐
@mellow basalt
If you order a racer keyboard from bestbuy you get a free racer mouse
Lemme find out which model it is
razer viper
i am upgrading my computer i doing custom watercooling do you know what's a good case for
lmao
@tender field kinda depends on your budget
Razer you mean?
oh Razer
i look good case
Yes, I know it was very difficult to figure that. Iโm glad itโs cleared up now. ๐
@fair ermine you deleted it multiple times ๐
two completely different words
deleted what?
@fair ermine I asked which Corsair?
cant post links with grey name rapid.
Like I said, I know it was difficult for you, but we got passed it together. Now we are a stronger unit
oh it wont let me send the link for it but the vengence rgb pro
I know, thatโs what I said.
yup
Thermaltake View 91 RGB is good Case for Watercooling
For me?
me
I was so confused ๐
Pretty nice build
@foggy hazel
@mellow basalt not so nice if it doesnโt work.
@sudden turret
Yah it was
so two things happened.
either that psu is messed up
or you messed something up during the swap.
Hmm
so go back how ya had it...
if it boots as it should.
something wonky with that psu
Ok
Reason: Bad word usage
I hope its not
that's all I got
or can think right now.
naed probably say the same thing, just in different context.
๐
@cloud drum one piece of advice that will work is this: read the manual
We can not stress that enough.
IF the parts actually work, following the manual WILL work
read read read read read.
Yah
what model/wattage was the old psu compared to this one?
that says otherwise ๐
But I showed you pics
Of me disabling it
It was already set to 3.6ghz
Why was it still on 4.2
The CPU won't change the clock speed the BIOS was set on
It still says 4.2 on task manager
But AMD ryzen master says this
@cloud drum What Ryzen CPU are you using?
ok, there are some things with in Bios that will conflict with Ryzen master, on the 3XXX CPUs you should use one or the other I don't remember exactly what the items were off the top of my head but that may be whats going on here, I have had this happen to me on client builds I have done so I am just giving you a heads up
you should either use bios, or ryzen master, not both
Well this was happening before I had ryzen master install
im trying to see if I can locate my notes about this so I can give you correct info as I don't want to say something wrong
oh this happened before you installed RM?
ok, sounds like a Bios issue, and fair enough, have you updated the bios to the latest from the MFG? (check that your not configured to boot from a back up bios also)
one of my servers kepy changing my settings even though I kept changing them each time, wound up that the previous user/owner? of the server set the bios jumper to boot from the reserve bios
I updated three weeks ago
@granite imp ๐คฃ
ok
I would try resetting the BIOS to factory defaults and see if the issue persists, and if im misunderstanding your issue please let me know so I can provide accurate info to you
Will that reset it to it's 2017 version
Reset cmos time?
Or will it stay to the current version
no, it will just take it to the preconfigured set up as if the board left the factory with the currently loaded bios on the board
Oh ok
were just going to take it back to when the board was born
but the BIOS will be what ever version you updated to
(hope that makes sense)
your welcome
this will let us see if the issue still persists even with factory settings
Um
pull battery
So CPU is at higher clocks for some reason..?
unplug cord from psu
press and hold powerbutton
drains all caps
and residue power
Box I thought they reset to factory defaults already
I mean like
and then thats all they do.
lol?
reset how
so when you see the 4.3
you do realize that's just the standard boost clock for that cpu right?
your CPU is naturally going to boost up in certain situations
oh ok
@cloud drum did you set that 1.35V manually
or is that the chip doing it itself
1.35V is safe if the chip is doing it itself but very unsafe for a fixed voltage for oc
on zen 2
@earnest olive its all default lmao
ok just making sure
saw some guy on reddit manually set his cpu to 1.54V yesterday...
Mines just on default xD
Also @earnest olive Remember, safe voltages varies between chips
1.325v is the average safe voltage for Ryzen.
@earnest olive and im sure that guy will shorten his CPUs life depending on where that voltage is being applied to ๐
I tried to reduce my cpu voltage by 50mV offset yesterday cause I heard some people got better performance from that and I already undervolted gpu
but my cinebench score dropped by 200
:(
idk I heard 1.325v for zen 2 is unsafe on average
depends on load but if you set that as a constant voltage it can cause degradation
hello guys
o/
what is the highest a i9 can be ocd to
there is no limit >:D
technically you could get a 9900k to 500ghz
maybe
who knows
@cursive wharf I told you was thinkibg of changing it to 3300x but needed to know where to cut down on
What are the differences in ram/memory companies and stuff. what makes one better besides total space
How can you tell which has better?
The higher the speed the better and the lower the latency the better
Oooo ok thanks for telling me

my friend has a freesync monitor but he just bought a 2070 super
will that be a issue
because I know some freesync monitors support g sync
what monitor is it
@cloud drum i would recommend that you read some more articles with actual testing.
also, no need for language like that here
ok
Amd beats intel on processing like rendering because it has more cores
And threads for the same price
Intrl just keeps the clocks speeds the highest
In most cases having highet clock speeds is better for gaming
wtf is inte
intel
a 10900k and 10900x have essentially the same benchmark if not the k is better
yet the x is double the price
@midnight pelican maybe better oc
Idk because I havent looked into the nee chip benchmarks
I just hope next month I can get my hands on a monitor that doesn't cost a fortune
whats your budget?
@little leaf from as far as i can see the only difference is that x299 boards are better
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hkW3k6 any opinions on this build? was hoping to have it built before the 25th but it seems most parts are sold out
looks good
I was considering making a media center build.
Let me know what you think about it please.
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Teyeger01/saved/#view=rFty4D
that you need ram :)
I have some 8gb sticks of ripjaw aegis laying around when I upgraded last time but thanks for pointing that out
dual core..
What's wrong with dual core?
well there is only 2 cores being the main issue :p
its a machine meant for doing only 1 thing
It could be for doing multiple things even, so long as the tasks are small, like media center
they just already get pushed pretty hard from a 4k youtube or 1080p 60 twitch stream, i would say avoid them unless absolutely necessary
I just hope we see the reasonably priced monitors come back in stock over the next month. The prices are ridiculous at the moment for things that aren't completely OOS.
i would hope a media center pc could do 4k 60 youtube
@little osprey that depends entirely on the software stack attached to it
and in a few years?
The internet connection for 4k would be unreasonable this would be for streaming SD or HD and playing locally.
Not entirely unreasonable, but if you're below the average in internet speed, then you're out of luck for 4K
Myself included
Thanks, AT&T
I live in a rural area so satelite or celluar hotspot is the only thing available.
Yeah, I'm lucky enough to have...DSL or whatever it is
oh, oof, makes more sense but, still.. im sure the 2200g or 3200g would be better choices though
@celest fjord have you thought about OS?
More than 50 bucks a month for 5Mbps down internet
Windows 10 home should work, not too sure about any linux os and definitely not iOS
fair talk @celest fjord
that has more to do with the hardware implementation and the way that chrome gets to choose codecs
Having 8gb of RAM has become almost necessary for most applications now a days so making sure that the OS doesn't hang up on bandwidth is more important than processing speed to me.
im on an old dual core now 2 threads, and i have to 480p everything 360p even
ouch
although i am running windows 10 on it lol
We're about to leave DSL behind and upgrade to fiber optic Internet.
Our DSL is not great and seems to be getting worse over time. The plan we were offered by the new company is roughly the same price but much faster.
i got 200 down 20 up and its always stable as heck
With 2 physical cores and 4 threads it may work better than a few older processors. The 3200g is just under $100 and the motherboard would need a BIOS update before it will work with the 2nd gen ryzen.
Very true though they will only work with the 500 series boards
@little osprey you are forgetting the rest of the stack
The B550 is supposed to be the midrange boards so between $80 to $200 is what I am expecting though the smaller the board the more expensive it gets unfortunately.
there will also be a 520/30 chipset
nah
-_- lol
I'm probably going to get a 550 board at this time, rather than x570 like I once planned. Just got to wait for them to come out.
im literally gunna try and wait for ddr5, but, il probably buy after ampere
Just hope MSI doesn't flub the roll out of the B550 boards like they did the X570
someone will make good b550s if not msi
Yeah that is why I went with an ASUS board for my current build, haven't had an issue yet Knock on wood
Yay my folding farm is running , got the GPU set up on the Dell too, oh hey I can post pics now, sweet!
Nice
@pastel briar you folding for curecoin?
awsome crazy
or
curecoin?
hes folding for linus obviously :p
I see, and no, and I am folding as part of the EVEGA team
I fold for netwars with ryoku
unless I can find something more profitable ๐
lol
A Ferengi with out profit is a Ferengi with out Latium...
i should probably look into the whole mining stuff, im sure i could learn to set it up
Deep space Nine, my dad's favorite show
I like DS9 also ๐ is it sad that every computer in my house is named after a Starship? ๐
Nope got to keep the dream alive
hehe
I got both Enterprises chugging numbers at the moment, need to decide on a name for the Dell
Server 1 is Enterprise-E and the second one is Enterprise-A
Voyager or Raptor?
do you have to claim bitcoin and stuff?
not sure, I tried the BT stuff but never got very far with it
maybe I should try and dis out my bit coin mining stuff again....but it never seemed to be profitable
The only way to make mining anything profitable is to set up a renewable energy source instead of paying for electricity off the grid. The power bill makes or breaks a mining operation.
hmm....perhaps, maybe I should tie my mining rigs directly into the renewable energy source I have....
If the batteries can handle the draw and you have enough energy collection to cover it then I don't see why not.
There Dell given Voyager, and my new Ryzen power gaming box given Defiant ๐
What renewable power source do you have @pastel briar
Nice
Trying to fine tune the wind power opperation
though part of me is wanting to put solar on the roof but the cost seems a bit much (and Corona....) so I have been experimenting with building wind turbines
small scale ones
to see how feasible wind can be (we do at times get stupid amounts of strong wind as were about 3 miles from the coast line here in CT)
thats cool as heck
not really, it came from being stuck at home bored with nothing to do, which is partly why I am now the (proud?) owner of three servers....
I mean I suppose it can be cool?
solars cool too but, dont think that would be very effective in canada with the winter thing
unless snow reflecting the light helps balance that out
well where I live we get a metric tone of sun on a day to day basic and IIRC our solar rating is up near the double digits
(we are more or less in the Jet streme path)
you would legit have the power ckmpany paying you during certain months
true that is why I am thinking about doing it and letting it feed the grid
i dunno if they actually do that tho lol
It is strange that the RV solar kits are standardized yet the ones for your home have so many variations.
if your sure youl be using them the rest of your life its worth considering
otherwise you could buy another house lol
no, but its sad there is no standardizations period.....
hmmmm thoughts?? AMD FirePro W7000 4GB card being offered to me for $50.00 (usd)
its a work station card...
Those generally have no video out and are mainly for extra compute power. If you are doing a lot of number crunching then that would be good but I would worry that it would have been flashed or undervolted and not reset.
Huh, it does, retails new for $299 on amazon.
interesting, would I be a fool not to jump on the offer or should I look for something better?
At $50 it would either have to be used or possibly something wrong with it. Would it be a bad idea to ask for proof it still works?
I suppose I could, I always assume something is wrong with items I buy (but I also have the ability to fix things too) so im not entirely afraid either
If you are willing to work with it then that is a great deal.
well I would be shoving it into my servers and letting it loose on folding at home also
or do you think a Quadro card would be better?
I haven't seen the spec comparing the two so I can't give you a recommendation.
The real question is if you will need special drivers for it and if you do will those driver interfere with any other graphic card in the computer.
There is the option of game ready or studio drivers for nvidia cards
Idk how multiple gpus in one system work tho
So it might be better to match brands
well the servers are using what ever intel/ibm GPU (on board) they have, that is why im considering these things as work station cards are supposidly better at crunching numbers
So it wouldn't matter as long as you have a video out
I donโt really think matching brands matter too much
Ya ^
well I sent a message asking for more info on the item so we will see where that goes
worst case I can shuck it in the Dell and test it out and make sure it works properly
what are some cheap 140mm rgb/argb fans? perferably 2-pack or above
upHere makes some decent cheap fans
Asiahorse were some that I had used on one of my previous builds (pre RGB build with only Yellow LEDs) they seemed to work quite well and were actually quiet
Box recommended some recently too, lemme see if I can find it
I believe it was these
@modern shadow I recently bought the coolermaster rf120m 5 pack for like 40 bucks, its 4pin rgb
They look nice
yup that's them
Ok cool they look nice ๐
is there a picture of them in a case?
Question, does the nzxt kraken x63 come with pre applied thermal paste?
Box has one, when he comes back around I'm sure he'll share
are monitors that cost around $150 even worth it ๐ค
depends on what you need it for
my last monitor i just needed 1080 at 60hz. spent 100. was great.
none gaming
i was looking at this https://www.amazon.com/Asus-24-Inch-Screen-Monitor-VP248QG/dp/B07JJV3JH8 for $150.00 but i keep questioning it and i keep looking at this https://www.newegg.com/dell-p2719h-27-full-hd/p/0JC-0004-00HY0
opps forgot the first link ๐
I found the picture of the fans @modern shadow
Here they are
that second one is bad tho imo
can't find any other monitor close to what i want besides these 2
8-5 ms response time, doesnt say what the refresh rate is, and $250?
oh its 60hz
what are you wanting out of a monitor?
Because most decent priced monitors are OOS right now
I want
VESA Compatibility - Mountable
HDMI / displayport
at lest 1920 x 1080
yap
can anyone reccomend a good gaming rig for my friend that's under 1400$
not pre built
1\qaa\
Sorry for the random string of letters. Kitty apparently decided to say hello while I was afk
thanks i like that one better
np ๐
Iโm a beginner and I need some help, where do I find the gtx 1650 super drivers ?
Sorry if itโs a stupid question
you can use this for drivers
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/
NVIDIA GeForce Experience Auto Update Drivers and Optimize Game Settings
Eh, I wouldn't call that a particularly stupid question. It can be hard to track down where a particular company stashes their drivers on their website.
and as always, there are no stupid questions, only silly answers :)

I love that quote

I've personally been told it about 10 times

Poggers

@potent prairie list is private
I assume you got that CPU for a reason?
Was looking at an i7, this wasn't too much more
So no
@potent prairie I'd suggest a Team MP34 1tb SSD instead
So are you gaming with it or do you have workloads that use 12 cores
Gaming
I'd rather put less money into the CPU and more into the GPU then.
Like a 3700x 2080 super
That ram seems expensive... Iirc trident z neo 32gb 3600mhz cl16 kits were 180$
Ok, will look into that. Is the mp34 good spec wise? I chose the rocket b/c they had benches almost the same as the 970 Evo plus
@potent prairie actually, the sabrent rocket is fine, but the sabrent rocket q was slower and less endurance
But sabrent rocket (normal) pricing was off iirc
I definitely price check ram. This isn't an urgent deal, so I'll do some waiting for deals
Ok thx
esp when you get such a cheap mobo
MP34 spec wise look very good
@potent prairie thing is, the kit I linked is cheaper and faster soooo
ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Still got rgb too
Aight. Will look at that, thx. I thought I had bought the better version of the sabrent rocket for my rig. Whoops.
If it's just gaming...
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mdF3k6
Nooo hei the d15 though ๐ญ
Tuf b450m pro
Whenever that goes back in stock
@cursive wharf honestly that graphics card sketches me out, you know how good the cooling on that is..?
The 2 fans seems really spaced out, making it look like the fans might not be blowing directly into the GPU...
Or not cooling the vram or something
Might try for an evga card again, for the warranty
Fan doesnt have to be over GPU die, barely makes a difference
Just needs an actually decent cooler and fans
Which looking at this seems meh
I mean the EVGA 2080 super ko is only like 20$ more
I'd get that :p
Even if just for the warrenty
That heatsink seems like a thin boi
I just like evga
Not amazing asthetics, but good service
I mean this is surprising well priced for AIO GPU, $34 over MSRP
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dXMTwP/msi-geforce-rtx-2080-super-8-gb-sea-hawk-x-video-card-rtx-2080-super-sea-hawk-x
That's if you're into that kinda stuff
Is a super worth it over a normal 2080
Well, airflow on that AIO would be much better due to the air not hitting and bouncing off the L changed fins
despite total volume being somewhat close
idk fin density
Any better mini atx mobos?
I know this sounds stupid, but I don't really like their asthetics and would pay more for a non tuf branded one
It's just a really really good board for the price
Usually idgaf about aesthetics :p
You'd be probs looking at quite a bit more money for same/better quality
Alright, will consider it. Any other options tho?
This is the only other board that fits in the "same/better" quality, mostly in the better
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KZLwrH/asrock-x570m-pro4-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-x570m-pro4
for mATX
OOS and expensive eh
Yeah. But better chipset
Everything else has things like worse sound chip, less NVMe M2 slots, etc
X570i aorus pro should be good but also expensive and OOS
While it is better, not really $90 better
itx boards usually fits in mATX cases.
I don't think the case I was thinking supports it, but I will check
But also have a hard time supporting dual M2 with M2_2 slot being well cooled, lacks any PCIe expansion, and only two RAM slots
It has mini itx support
Fair enough
Alright. Thx for the tips.
@scenic heath specs ?
i5 9th gen
RTX 2070 Super Founders edition
500GB SSD
3tb hard drive
x4 Corsair QL120mm RGB Fans
ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming
Corsair Liquid cooling H100i v2 RGB
Corsair Vengeance 16GB Ram
Phantexs Evolv X
But I plan on upgrading big
instead of i9-9900k im waitin for 10th gen
Reason: Bad word usage
If you do, best buy has been selling them off and on for like $480 new on eBay
Np. I think might have actually got mine for like $450
Really? That's cheap tho
Best buy went off sale, they are at 515 now
Iffy. But you do have buyer protection
If it's new, I'd still buy it and check the factory seals
yea
but I might jus bite the bullet and get it off best buy
Ihave a friend who works there so he might get a good discount off of it
Yeah. If you can't afford it now, keep an eye on it, might go back down
Yea
Good luck :)
Np
watch the 10th gen be like a millionm dollars
soo.. yes or no Some AMD X370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
I think 10th gen was gonna be like close to 600+
10th gen is going to be about $75 or so more then AMD
bulk buy of 1k units is like $40 - 50 more then AMD's single unit pricing. So single unit pricing of Intel would be $20 - $30 more then bulk buy per unit
how long until new gpu's come out?
Never
google that mobo and see the latest version
I think you should get at least one ssd
memory looks like out of stock, could be more expensive
It looks like you are going for a small build so it should work. But I agree. Atleast a 500gb ssd
and idk much about thermaltake psus
I think he just went with that one for the size and price
If you could go up to 700$ price then that could change a lot
๐
Doubt it
For that price range with a 3rd gen ryzen. It seems a solid build. Just for gaming ?
Yeah than what you have is all you need. I went overkill on my pc. Mostly used for gaming lol
What are your specs
@sullen spoke can you give sauce for your pfp
huh
Cpu:Ryzen 9 3900x
Gpu:Asus rtx 2080
Psu:Corsair rm 850x
Ram:32gb corsair rgb vengeance pro
Motherbord:msi mpg x570 gaming edge pro
wheres it from
Custom built
it's from a album cover?
Storage is 1 tb hdd and 1tb ssd
im broke and don't have a pc i suck
A little saving here and there is always a good plan. You dont need a 1000$ pc to play games
cool

I am getting a new pc
I picked out all the parts but still confused about which motherboard to get
can Anyone help?
Just ask your question
idk which motherboard to get
idk the difference between them which is better than the other..
9700k ,2060 strix,16gb ram,
the motherboard i was looking at is the asus rog strix b365-f
Ick Intel
Chipsets are wacky
B365 might be the locked one, all I know is z390 is good
z370 is older but can work
The chipset is better?
z390 is better
Mr1 is saying b365 might be locked meaning can't overclock on it
you have a 9700k which is an unlocked chip, can be overclocked. If you want to overclock in the future it would be better
ohh ok
Intel board and chips are so weird
At the moment yes
And soon to be better performance ๐
what about intel's 10th gen processors
What about them? They're basically just the 9th gen but with way more power consumption
Nothing special imo
they look interesting, but power is going to turn your house into an oven
Sure thing
anyone know any decent cases with built in cooling?
ATX
or a brand that i can check out thats mid price
like 60-100
yeah
as opposed to built in heating obviously
Lmao
I am looking to upgrade ram in my 2018 mac mini I7 Processor. Will the following memory be compatible? CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (2 x 32GB) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Laptop Memory Model CMSX64GX4M2A2666C18
these are the specs the ram needs to be
I would think size would be the biggest issue
well ive heard the phanteks p300 without the mesh has subpar cooling
so are there any cases or brands that are better in that regard, so when i need more cooling it can facilitate that
Td500mesh
you beat me to it
Ik ๐
Reason: Bad word usage
adressable rgb, its more customizable
the corsair ram should fit what you need. it is unbufferred non parity 2666 mhz ram. I would maybe do a bit of research and see if you can find another person that has swapped the ram with that kit, or check with corsair and see if they have any kind of qvl for that particular mini.
apple loves to keep secrets and will never put out lists for upgrades
@untold trail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrqWyAq4L-U
Purchase the Phanteks P350X HERE: https://bit.ly/2KXxLxk
Via Newegg: https://bit.ly/2KXxDxQ
RGB is LIT right now in the tech space and addressable LED kits produce some of the most dynamic lighting patterns around... but how do they work? What's the difference between address...
so the phanteks p350x and the Td500mesh are the same price
but im not sure what would make one better than the other
TD 500 mesh ftw
@untold trail p350x only comes with 1 fan, td500 mesh comes with at 3
cool cool
and it has mesh right? doesnt that help with airflow or is it aestheitc
*aesthetic
mesh is in the name
it has some bad reviews too im not sure what to make of them
cool
sucks that it only becomes available after the 15th
gotta wait even longer
is this a widely accepted case? like its considered good?
For the pass 3 months
Look its still on preorder lol
Amazon might delay that case again
It was suppose to come out in February
I'm not even sure if they gived my money back
aww that really sucks
i really hope it actually comes back on the 15th
this makes me hesitant to pre order
can u cancel pre orders?
I don't see why not?
I think it'll probably be fine
hopefully
Yeah you can
What parts would be compatible as well as a cheap starter gaming pc
sooo... I got a MSI 1660 Ventus XS OC... what should I upgrade to next? my CPU is a Ryzen 3600.
or what would be an appropriate step up?
So what if it's like a 800 or more budget
I'll make a list.
Thank you
Like do you intend to use it for a few years or like upgrade within a few months kinda "starter PC"
Well I want it to be able to run sea of theives, rdr2 and stuff plus I'll be getting some cash in soon so probably the upgrade route
Because there's always an option for an iGPU build, then buying like a RTX 2070 super (500$) in like a month
Actually I'll make lists for both options
Oh ok
Lots of things are out of stock right now, so I might put placeholder items for whenever things go back in stock
So when I was researching honestly 16gb ram is what I need plus a good cooling system but since I'm building and not buying I'll have to go with fans instead of liquid cooling
Liquid cooling isn't very worth it even at higher budets
Unless you're spending like 3000$
you wont need liquid cooling unless you're going to be fully loading
It's more effective at Cooling but it gets up there
Barely more effective
Yep unless you have a massive budget are you're doing some heavy overclocking
Like 1 or 2 c difference
Hei you know about when 3300x comes out?
3300x gonna be epiccc
What does it change from the older models
Could put in 3300x part with manual $120 price
But I don't want to make people wait for months for it to release lol
Oop
3300x is the first (timing wise rather then stack wise) Zen2 low end chip is what changed. All lower end 3000 were Zen/Zen(+)
3000g is Zen, 3200g is Zen+, 3400g is Zen+
in the stack, the 3300x is the second
Put emphesis on the rest of the list more than the GPU since expecting a budget for a GPU upgrade.
Mobo is kinda placeholder
I do
I want to buy a curve screen moniter or multiple ones that can screenshare
As for the keyboard and mouse I'm probably gonna buy a Logitech mouse and just an led keyboard
Headphones I've had good experience with hyper x so maybe those
@stoic island for us I'm pretty sure 2 weeks right for the 3300x
its better tho
ye the actually enabled hyperthreading on all processors
Why won't my image show
dup
It shows for me
keep the memes to #general-chat
I see it now
good
Wow wait Naed what country are you in
what do you need help with @meager relic
nothing
@fast dust denmark
i just wanted to know how you are doing
Niceeeeee
3300x gonna be so neat
For sure
The new 4 core 8 threaded Ryzen 3 Zen 2 Chips from AMD are making a buzz, but how much of a buzz exactly? Let's find out.

@cloud drum whats your psu?
Mismatched?
serious answer please, how hard would it be for me to spray all the parts that i can safely spray on my pc with a paint that reacts to uv light /black light
Idk about that
@meager relic honestly I'd take a look at LTT's mineral oil PC build thing, since they used something to protect the parts, I forgot what.
i know the mobo and the ram for example cannot be sprayed
@cloud drum why would you go with the 120mm rad
but the plastic covering over the graphic card? the psu? the chasis itself.
when there are 240 aios for less
the fans?
What
@meager relic well, you can def take the GPU shroud off, paint it, clean it, then install it back on
I got it for 70$
ah ok I thought you were buying it for 90
Case most likely
Discount
im setting up my room to be overexposed with black light during certaintimes of the day.
and i want psychadelic colors
im weird ok.
You do your beer things
lol
Bro
yes
if my gpu used too much memory, do it mean my cpu is bottleneck???
My aio is 10 stops away
@meager relic You can do mobo if careful. Need to spray a protective coating around it, just making sure that sockets dont get hit as this coating is an insulator, making sockets unable to communicate to anything inside it
1300 bucks for a 3600 and 2060 build? Worse prices than Canada :p
Does anyone have any build for around $900 that has 32gb of DDR4 ram?
Like a part list.
I wanna build one
why 32gb
32gb is overkill easpically for gaming. 16gb is all you need for any games today.
Okie
@gentle hamlet What gave you the idea that you need 32gb of ram?
rust has a recommended of 16gb lol
@gentle hamlet I have had a few buddies try with 8gb of ram and have a hard time but once they went to 16gb. They were 100% perfect.
Okay, ty
@harsh bolt since you play rust, I got a question for you
how the heck do you use the bow
I can use any other weapon in the game
just not the bow
Crossy goes fine for me
but I cant hit anyone with a bow
There's a good bow aim train server. Spent probably about 100 hours on it . I have 2.2k hours in rust
heh I only got like 300 or so
I have a couple youtube videos for it. Base builds/electric . No pvp videos though.
But this isnt the channel for that. You can inbox me If you want
k
can 3000 series be here yet so i can buy a computer
no
:(
How much space does rust take?
I can give you specific numbers when I get on my pc. Give me a sec. Just got home from work
its crazy how many ppl selling old pc's have closeups up their windows key in pics
Hello. I'm a newbie trying to figure out my first Gaming PC Build. Can anyone help me out with a good component build list. I'm trying to buy everything from the same place like newegg.com. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated (budget is around 1200, fan cooling, RGB)
Yes I can
i have 2k hours on rust lmao
Same here
So I have a question. I have a Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard. My PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G3, 220-G3-1000-X1, 80+ GOLD, 1000W Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode with New HDB Fan. So I am wiring the PSU up and I came across the 8-pin EATX12V and 4-pin EATX12. My PSU cables has 2 of the 4 pin plugs. (I can add photos) Do I plug all 3 in? Or do I just do the 4-pin and one of the 8 pins?
I said 2.2k earlier but I looked. Its actually 2.1k
14gb it looks like
uh
bc OOS stuffz
dunno but they want it all from newegg
@agile holly can you elaborate ๐
new to disc so maybe they'll come back..
kk
It's ridiculous
Thank @sudden turret & @stoic island . I'm looking to buy soon within the next couple of weeks. I just wanted to buy everything from the same place if possible. Newegg is an option unless you guys can recommend another reputable place to order from
I spent basically all my free time in the past week spamming refresh to get my parts lmao
Newegg is great, just some things are getting out of stock quite often, might need to do one of the stock alert thingys
doable but limited on what you can get your hands on.
what is your main focus? what game? or editing software?
wanna crush the newbs.
or highlight powerpoints ๐
I see. Looking for easy build features too since it's my first one ๐
as long as you dont go crazy form factor it's easy
it's quite literally plug and play
usually..
with 1,200 do you need eeeeeeeeeeverything? or 1,200 just on the computer itself.
everything being monitor, keyboard, mouse, desk.
Cool, I read that compatibility is an issue with components so I want to make sure that the build list has components that are compatible of course ๐
Just the tower
right on.
wifi?
yes please
please pull around to the second window.
mr1 will have your order.
sorry I had to
(just dont acccept the milkshake, he really needs some training on that part of it)
i sent you a build @agile holly
๐ฎ
Theres only a 2070 non-super in stock
I set my preferences to Newegg only
Corona making things hard
the noisiest of the bunch
time to take a dip into unknown PSUs
oof
its alright just had to check how good corsair CV was again
I just know CX well, CV not so much
i think i paid 150 for my corsair rm 850x
ouch barracuda 2tb is oos
Whaaaaat?!
wow really?
Oh cool
might be time for a 1tb ssd only build maybe
that'll last you more than long enough til corona rolls over
@agile holly Is it alright that everything BUT one part was on newegg?
or you'll have to wait for it to come back into stock
god damn it the mobo is oos too...
Sure no problem at all
unless
