#building-and-recc-chat

Was a prebuilt that i got in sophomore year of school
That last ones ram and stuff is to outdated for new boards
And the power supply corroded
๐ฎ
It got to the point it force shut itself off during any games
Its dusty as hell as it was sitting there for a whole year before i opened it a few days ago
probably shutting down due to overheating
Oh it installed and went back to the black screen
Yea yea i know
just let it sit for a min,
black screen is ok
it'll go black, restart, go black. just let it run its couse
course*
It it starting loading files then went back to the key screen on its own again
ya ๐
it went back to that??
Yea
hm ok so take out the usb, and restart see what it does.
Oh its on a normal loadin screen for windows
good to go
The "getting ready" thing
nice
๐
so what happened was when it restarted by itself, it just loaded up the USB to install again .. instead of booting to ssd
Ah
Pshhh
be proud, seriously.
Never
I SED BE PROUD.

Im not proud because my Ethernet cord wont go in
My wifi is arse
so why did you pick a wifi board ๐
Because it didn't used to be
My wifi was great untill a few months ago
But for some reason we had a drop in signal
did you install the antennas to mobo?
...
go ahead and do that
why ethernet no fit?
And idk why it wont fit
picture of the io?
hey Naed ๐
heya :)
hola
yay naed is here I can leave now
Morning all
the I/O shield might have a tab that got stuck in the ethernet jack when it was installed
what i thought
OH NO
The tab!
crap
so no, you are not going anywhere Box
lol
i am going to lunch thou, later!
evil tab
that tab is in the wrong spot..
Imma guess thats not an easy fix..
which requires sadly, to remove the motherboard and reseat it against the I/O shield
BUT
if naed would approve

I'd just bend it out the way..
woah
it is easy though
boxy
I say stick a LPD behind it and bend it back and forth until it snaps off
But I just built my first pc last week. So donโt listen to me.
Yall got aggressive
(sometimes you cant, depends on the specific material thickness)
that's one way of doing it
When it doubt, bust the dremel out.
Well now that im looking i see a second tab stuck in there in a different spot.. I'll fix em later
Usb C area has a tab in as well
smh
Lemme go get my wifi key, ill worry bout that later
box, usb c is for usb c devices smh
I have a usb c flash drive
My phone is usb c
LG G7 ThinQ
no emote gang
I can say "kimchi" to my phone to take a picture

LG is fun
that's aa bit odd
that's one of the perks of LG :p
hmm my a key double pressed
IS MY KEYBOARD GOING TO DECIDE TO DIE NOW AFTER ITS YEARS OF SERVICE
its ok
Don't panic, it can be fixed
I've never seen tab before
I've done it before.
Iโve never seen before.
@granite imp it still happens for me once in a while
and i think i have built "enough" machines
No I mean, Iโm blind.
But to fix it ill have to unplug everything
well
yes/no
ateleast the 24pin/12v power, and the gpu
then unscrew the mobo , shift over a little, enough to get that stupid tab in the correct spot
if it was me, I'd just bend the tab outward.
That graphics card was a pain to get in
enough to get the cable in
Im okay with bending tabs after 3 days of work..
WOO
now seriously pat yourself on the back
we just need to work on getting the rest of those fans spinning
unless they're good to go noiw?
ah ok
I did?
i'd go ahead and secure the PSU
then we can figure out fans, we'll need to see how you have it all wired up
what fans are they?
which aren't working at all?
The front three have lights but wont spin
ok
The top two spin but no lights
the three front fans, did they come in a pack?
and did they come with any type of hub/controller box
They came already installed on case
so you may need to back track on what you plugged in
most fans have two wires, one for power (3 or 4 pin) and then one for the lights.
some can be daisy chained together
Okay so front ones first then?
meaning one fan plugs into power, then the second plugs into that fan, and so on
yeah
when you plugged the front 3 in, how did you go about it
Is this where that unused molex cord comes into play?
possibly ๐
Okay so the front three are all chained together by default
ok
and ends with a molex ?
that you didn't connect?
if so, that'd be your power for them
I dont know where to put the molex
unless your looking at the Molex from the powesupply
send a picture ๐
of what you're looking at
What Iโm looking at
Those two cords are both from the fan/front of canse
On my case instructions it showed the gigabyte left alone i believe
But no where it showed that molex
that's if you had a gigabyte board
with these connectors (RGB) make sure the arrows are both on the same side
Yup
do they not have any type of regular fan header?
oh what case is this?
nothing like this?
or in your case
Cooler Master MasterBox MB530P ATX Mid-Tower
ok gimme a min
according to newegg:
ARGB Lighting Control - Sync the addressable RGB lighting on the power button and fans by connecting the ARGB cable from the I/O panel to the included 2 to 3 ARGB splitter. Certified compatible with: ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock motherboards for a comprehensive lighting system.
which explains why you see the Gigabyte tag
yes, that solves the RGB, which is good, cause they are lit.

so yes that Molex is for the Fans sadly
which means you wont be able to control the speed
you need to connect that directly to the PSU molex.
then all three will be powered up
My psu doesn't have one?
it should.
it's either on the same cable that your SSD is on
(usually there is 1 molex)
or its still in the psu box
being it's own cable
the cables running to your HardDrive
and SSD
check them
should be at least one
yeah that's it
those are male plugs
this is your fans female plug
don't worry about the metal bits inside the holes.
Mhm
Cooler master
ok so 3 pin
trying to see what rgb headers are on that motherboard
@granite imp it would be helpful, if you kept comments like that to the #general-chat
My back fans led is working fine and its a three also
so you were correct
so hook them back up
we might just need to install the mysticlight software from MSI before they get picked up
so go ahead and button everything up., psu install, cable manage the best you can.
Then why would the back work and not the top then?
where was the back exhaust connected to
Down here on first slot
gotcha, lets go ahead and install psu , install mysticlight software
and go from there
Okay
I have to hop off and have a virtual speech class with my son in like 5 mins.
maybe @foggy hazel can finish
but I think it's probably most likely software
as 3-pin is a tad different than 4pin
Itll take me some time to get that psu in anyway thanks so much
And clean my electric spaghetti
๐
@paper magnet how's it going
Fans are all working but i have an issue with my management with cables.
I have them in a cubby where had they had them originally, the rgb fan ones
But the lowest fan wacked one
ut oh
So i gotta rework them
but hey, it's working ๐
how do I update the right drivers for my gpu and my motherboard??
its a 1650 super asus geforce
don't need to update bios on mobo if it works as intended
alright bet tthxs btw what do you mean by motherboard works as intented?
are you having issues with it?
if there are no issues, then there is no real reason to update it.
specs of the build?
when you use it, if it works then you don't need to
i can grab @static briar @sudden turret
ohhh alright bet thxs yea it just turned on and im spamming the delete button so i can oc my pc
thxs so much u to
Risky business Ocing
@static briar do NOT oc anything you are not prepared to be without.
wym?
yeah... if you dunno about drivvers..... disregard ocing anything ๐
huh im reallly confused now lol
@static briar if your above posts are legit, i would STRONGLY recommend that you dont even think about overclocking
my gpu is super 1650
when you oc, it is best to do it manually not the auto oc stuff, so it is best to have a general understanding of the settings you are changing before you touch anything
you asked how do you update gpu/mobo drivers.... which gives us a clear indication you don't know much about computers (no disrespect)
and jumping right into Overclocking is a no no ๐
We just try to save you a headache is all
overclocking is fun, but you have to do your research first
lmfaooo i just need it the website but ik how to do the rest ๐ฆ
nah u good bro but thxs for the warning
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
alr what do i use game ready or studio for download type??
game ready
a;r thxs
game ready unless you don't game
then ye lol
@sudden turret
Everything is up
My bedroom is trash from making room ro build this and littered in boxes however
Yo try routing the 24 pin cable behind the motherboard. Just looks a lot cleaner that way ๐
Yeah I know I was giving some advice
these rubber grommets
A little advice isnโt like going hard on them or anything
is usually where you would route that big 24pin cable
I may move it but for now my back hurts
and the cable your gpu is connected, put where the 24 is
I want to enjoy my games for the first time in a yeay
oh yeah it's not like needed, it's more of a aesthetics type thing
And figure out how to get the lighting program
mystic lights
Kaspersky
Malwarebytes >:D
@paper magnet a big congratulations is in order :) well done :)
Okay another dumb question guys how do i install all my driver's
Nvidia drivers, use nvidia experience
(and NVCleaninstall if you want)
there are no dumb/stupid questions, only silly answers.
That's not a dumb question at all
Maybe we should make a list of how to install your drivers and which ones to install, then pin it :p
Uh it just did a bluscreen thing saying it ran into an error and restarted itself
ah joy

Oh yea usually the mobo has downloadable software that downloads drivers for ya, but otherwise for drivers you just go to mobo support page and download em
@sudden turret you want to follow up or?
(IDK about others, but MSI has live update and thats neat.)
https://secure.newegg.com/wishlist/pd/6803638 my parts list btw if that helps with drivers
sorry stuck in #old-cooling
Im just letting it run tk see if it blue screens again
๐
@paper magnet that is all you can do for now
@paper magnet did you have a mainboard model for me?
MSI MPG Z390M Gaming Edge ac
(and just as i said that, discord delieverd the parts list link from newegg. Thank you Discord!)
lol
Ay
@edgy cape did you get you issue resolved?
Lol building your own pc has its pros and cons. Prosnbeing that its cheaper and fun for hobbyists, but cons being it's a lot more frustrating and problematic
@queen fjord
I am sorry but I will have to agree to disagree with you on this, while generally building your own PC IS cheaper depending on how you source your parts, your cons I have to say you are incorrect, yes very rarely will people have issues and troubles that CAN pop up, I have built many a PCs and even helped others do the same (both in person and over video conference) and I have had maybe one issue that I can remember that was a big enough problem that I would have called an issue, that that wound up being a fan that was DOA but easily rectifiable by swapping it out for a temp stand in and getting a warranty replacement
click the dropdown, select win10 64
then grab the following
those are in theory all you need to worry about
the rest should be there already
Naed, would you recommend using MSI Live update?
Because I have been using that without any issues
less random software = good imo
At least mystic lights work with g.skill
And I got no other way to control fan speeds with software other than dragon center
@stoic island I can say that from past experiences I would say no, I haven't tried recently but when I use it (when it first came out) it was less then stellar, but perhaps its improved some? I am of the camp that "the less random software I have the fewer conflicts and problems will be created"
Dragon center is pretty good
Interesting, I've had no issues with it, it just installs new drivers whenever I manually scan and use it.
I dont do the automatic scan thing
any software that does something you dont really need it to do? had better save you a LOT of time to stay on your system <- this is ofc my personal take on it
It saves me a LOT of time with software fan curve than bios, like hours upon hours of fiddling
ninite is a prime example of something that saves a LOT of time. And doesnt need to be installed
so I need dragon center :P
@stoic island I agree with @foggy hazel on that, and that is also my outlook on software, either that or it better help me cut down time on deploying the same thing to 100's of PCs at the same time
YAY my rack extenders will be here tomorrow ๐
@stoic island but keep the following in mind: Do you really need dragon center beyond setting things up the first time around?
Not really
thats your answer right there.
Eh, I wish I could keep the fan curve profile somehow tho
but again, i build towards a different "mindset" than you do
my machine HAS to be stable
I could actually put it in the bios but im lazy there
so the more i can cut out, the better for me
also, machine(s) running all the time
My machine has only the bare essentials in it ๐
if I could I would have ripped out the GUI but I don't think windows would like that....
well, you are also a linux fruit cake :P
aye
@foggy hazel i got the drivers, do i need to run them?
got my CPU and memory today, yeehaw
they kinda just saved
@paper magnet yes, the first one i listed first
@paper magnet if in doubt which file to click, please ask before clicking :)
got em
@paper magnet do you mean, you have installed them or?
in what way?
no matter what i do it keeps going off screen
elaborate please?
what monitor are you using?
...a tv monitor.. all i have at the moment
but im picking the resolution that the box claims the screen is
yes, but TV's are "silly/dumb/ignorant" like that
they have a built in scaler that can do weird things like what you are seeing
but, it can normally be fixed by changing a couple of settings :)
which tv model is it ?
an element
is there a model name?
hold on
it sounds like the over scan (under scan?) may be turned on and it need to be turned off, my tv did the same thing and I had to change that function
got what i need, thank you @paper magnet
@paper magnet one way to correct would on your desktop (assuming your in win 10) is to right click on your desktop, go to Display settings, then select the highest resolution supported (if a 1080P tv you can select 1900X1080) then go into the TV settings and look for the under scan (also I have seen the same thing called over scan)
@foggy hazel may be able to find you more/alternate ways to help with your issue as well, (give them a moment he is processing your request).
@paper magnet on your remote, is there a "round wheel" with a "ok" button in the middle?
has it got the "round wheel"?
yes
just above that, on the right, is there a button that says "aspect"?
okay, that is perfectly normal (that the manual is not completely true about the remote layout)
Currently, what resolution do you have set on the pc?
1366X768
hdmi
okay
then just click the aspect button
there should be one of the different modes that does what you want
wide is the closest one and its the one im on currently with my stuff still off screen
2sec
@foggy hazel keep in mind some TVs do have a over/under scan mode that can be turned on/off that might be coming into play
i know
oh joy, that is nothing like the menu the manual has
For example on my Coby TV I can go to Picture > Advanced Video > OverScan > on/off, I would suggest looking for such a option @paper magnet
Hdmi was on something else
good to see you fixed it @paper magnet
I didn't have overscan
it might be called something different depending on the TV mfg
but the function is basically the same
But now i can play games
aye, should still fix your drivers first thou @paper magnet
thought i had everything? but im dumb
@paper magnet agreed, would suggest following Naed's suggestion and make sure your drivers are in order ๐
so, should i understand that as you having installed the first one?
yes
maybe
please go to the folder where you downloaded those two files
correct
and from there?
right click the "realtek_nahimic_UAD_audio" file and select unpack
okay, on my screen it was extract all
same deal :)
i should scroll down and run setup correct?
you will end up with a folder named "nahimic"
and yes, the "setup.exe" is the one you want
right click and "run as admin"
should i spend more on fans than hardware?
@midnight pelican short answer: no
F ok then
long answer: No
lol
Okay its restarting now to finish the install
@paper magnet that is normal :)
after that, you should be ready to enjoy your new system
Dont i need drivers for the hardrive and ssd?
please, as Box has said a number of times, do be proud and pat yourself on the back
nope, that comes with windows
Okay
you have had a machine with windows 10 before?
Just my old desktop that kinda crapped out on me
Its been a year since ive touched a computer
when your machine has restarted, please run windows update
And im also running on little sleep, hospital issues
Its updating now
@midnight pelican Really long answer: why? do they do things like drive you to where you want to go, make breakfast in bed, and are gold plated?
Should my GPU fans be running all the time to keep the card cool or should I allow it to be on auto? I dont really care about the noise.
I would allow it to be on auto, unless auto makes it too loud for you
@pastel briar Really Really long answer: How the heck can you spend more on fans than actual hardware? are you buying like 16 LL120s in an iGPU build?
/s
Got my m2 today!
neat
@stoic island indeed
@silk estuary cool! glad it arrived!

Well, I just ordered the case for my build. I needed to do something to commit myself, or I was going to continue waffling forever. Still going to wait till next month before I buy anything else... I just wanted to move on that deal for the case.
Case should be fine, but do make sure you buy ALL the electronics at the same time, so when you build it, you'll still be within the window of time for returns if anything is DoA.@cold sorrel
so i was hopefully when the psu i ordered starting moving again and had a delivery date.. then it went back to giving me no date. Everything came last friday, had 2 day shipping. PSU got stuck in CA, then started to move so it said tuesday, then it said monday, now it says nothing again. Starting to wonder how many weeks itll take to get here. I'm curious, is there a way to just tell them to ship it back, and get a refund? Or do i have to wait til it finally arrives, then request a refund that would obv be denied since if it takes 2 months to get here, its past the return date...
I know that. I have to wait and hope that good power supplies start coming back in stock next month.
i got lucky, my buddy had a few year old 650w evga supernova
@jovial ruin talk with customer service
so im just using that
yea ill have to give em a call, its hard cuz it DID get shipped out, im watching the ups tracking
its just stuck in CA and has been all week lol
ya know, im salty i gotta open the case back up to get a number off the board to register it
@paper magnet before you do that, go to the box it came in, Serials, P/N's are usually written on the out side
or in the manual possibly
the three number code wasnt on the box
but i got it
now i need to wait for the rgb splitter cable to come in the mail because the three front case fans are not synched with the motherboard, but i expected that
But hey, your machine works. It's just got a few last glitches that need sorting out
@foggy hazel someone seeks your assitance,
hes looking for this
The budget is $300-399
Must include:
3000g
2x8gb decent speed ram
480gb or more ssd
idk we might
not even the sentient Box we have scuttling around in the corners
@formal plover you heard the guy
come and here and speak up the all powerful naed demands your presence
dual core in 2020
getting used makes more sense
i7-5500U
@meager relic there is no need for language like that here
i deecided to not buy any turings, waiting for ampere, still might get platform now though, and a used rx570 in the meantime
well, or navi, if they fixed their hardware encoder
the most powerful pc i have right now is my phone xD, and then my ps3
Ok, so. Those people suggested I enable xmp... At 1.35 it was in red... While at 1.2 it's in white
Naed, is it safe to be in red when enabling xmp
The dram voltage
I'm not confirming changes unless I get an answer
"those people"?
^
So no enable xmp?
not if it doing what you outlined above
because that is not "normal" behaviour.
you have a new machine
leave the kids to their hallucinations and go and enjoy some games
Thank you
you are very welcome
Yessir
bendy tubing looks kinda dated these days
Drink the milk
it needed a good flush anyways
I might just sell it after, who knows.
or toss it in boxJRs build
If you sell it, for under 1k..
The loop?
โถ๏ธ ๏ปฟ9. No sweepstakes/giveaways, e-begging, trading or selling on this server.
That applies to me aswell.
how about insider news on a deal coming to an alternate newegg seller? lol

@meager relic here is a really really practical rule of thumb: Dont debate with mods
Totally 100% agreed
And now I'm back to wow
cause there should be an open boxed discounted msi 1650 super showing up in a few days, if anyone was looking for one
i regret not keeping it lol, too late now
but I don't know how long that takes for them to get it back online.
yeah i dunno
i got that 99th percentile i5 open box
its like they liquid metald it before seding it back or something xD
i was about to get the asus p50 x570 board but it went outa stock lol
Hi guys, hope everyone is doing great.
I have a 4790k and sli 980 ti. Intel is now the new old amd just upping the ghz by increasing tdps. I was thinking of getting the new 10900k and waiting for the 3080ti. Anyone got any thoughts or should I chill the f down and wait for next gear?
I mostly game and do work stuff. I donโt stream yet but Iโve been thinking about it. Also I game 1080p but Iโm thinking of going 1440p when the new 3080 ti comes.
Thanks in advance โ๐ผ
sli 980 on a quad core, how much bottleneck in the new stuff?
@hot falcon imo, let things settle down. Rumours are currently at the "silly for the sake of being silly" levels of silly
does amd have a slot to compete with the 10900 or is it just competing with the 37-3800 and 47-4800 for more expensive?
@sudden turret posted pic on build pics (not the best cable management since im testing rgbs lol
oh I don't care about that, I like seeing old sli builds ๐
@foggy hazel makes sense
@little osprey highest from amd (at this point in time is the 5700xt)
im talking cpu's lol
thats dual 8 pin aint it?
@little osprey im pretty sure its just cause games like those higher clocks but now you need a great cooling solution to get thos 5.3 or 5.4ghz than im seeing
@little osprey i misread, my mind was thinking about the other conversation :)
@iambox haha cool
@little osprey and its not amd that has to compete with intel, its the other way around at the moment
i guess the 10900 would be competing with amd's 12 core? same price bracket?
"m pretty sure its just cause games like those higher clocks but now you need a great cooling solution to get thos 5.3 or 5.4ghz than im seeing" <- that is kinda going away
there are limits to that
as in, yes, 1-2 cores that are fast is nice and all
but if you dont have a bunch of cores for the rest of the game/program?
you are going to be miserable
Gaming wise intel is still "king" cause theyre doing what amd used to do and now have this super boost velocity whatever that you can only really attain without throttling with a great cooler. And percentage wise its not that much of an improvement in fps real world.
That is true
There are games now taking advantage of more than just single core
there have been for a while
Im guessing it really depends on the games you play
the difference is the "floor" is moving up
give it a couple years and the "slowest" machines will be quads
as in, office machines in beige boxes
Im not a blue or red fanboy. I want whats best without having to pay an arm and a leg for little improvementm
I hope so cause a lot of companies are still in windows 7 with i5s and standard hd lol
consider this, you are aware that there are new consoles on the way right?
Yup
the cpu in those is basically a 3700x from amd
thats a 8core, 16thread model
thats one heck of "lowest common"
Theyve always used amd tho. Have you seen the 4900hs? In the little asus laptop? Its mind blowing how little power it uses and how fast it performs while lasting 9 hours with a 2060 rtx.
guess where that cpu "core" is used too?
Its def amds time and its been like that for a minute. Im glad though because it means intel has to start doing real innovation and nut just 14mm refresh like this 10900k
(the one in the 4900HS)
Hi guys, hope everyone is doing great.

@hot falcon
Short answer "calm the F down and chill", just let things settle down
Longer answer: I would honestly go with AMD , you get more options and upgrade paths and you can usually decide what you want to upgrade IE you can keep your RAM and Mainboard but upgrade the CPU when you want
@hot falcon its the same "core" as the 3700x i mentioned, which again, is the same as the consoles will be using
I was on team blue for a bit, but I got tired of having to upgrade the RAM and mainboard every time I wanted to upgrade the CPU to the latest one so I switched to AMD on Ryzen 7 2700X and I ain't looking back ๐
3700x so good.
Thanks guys, i was thinking of preordering but im going to let the reviews come out first and let gamer nexus and all those folks give me the rundown. Maybe ill go the 3900x route. Im kind in a rough spot cause sli is dying and i may end up waiting for the 3080ti because it sounds promising with that 7nm
oh i cant send link
@sudden turret can i send you a link for my part list and u tell me if its good
you can DM it to me and I will post on your behalf
ok
@hot falcon never ever preorder pc hardware
Posting on behalf of @bold rune: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vn46dm
and i am out for the night, have a good one people
Night @Naed and thank u
@bold rune I got you a slightly better PSU (gold vs bronze) and it is slightly less in price
oh and its fully modular
so better cable management capabilities
Question, brand new to building pc here, what is some of the best times to get parts on sale?
Also, what are some good guides to watch for actually putting together the PC?
@cosmic folio
Answer, when the new stuff starts dropping/coming out
sadly there is not an exact answer to this question, but generally when new stuff comes out, is the best time for buying deals/sales as the stores and other venders will have "older stuff" they want to move so they will drop prices to make room for any new things coming out
as for guides LTT is pretty good, Bitwit, Jayztwocents, TechYEScity
to name a few
just search something along the lines of "bitwit build a pc with me"
heck I have even helped people in the past over video to build there first PC
(yes I build PCs as a job ๐ and work with servers also)
I'm legit tErRIFIed I'm gonna fry something so I might ask you for help ๐
that is fine and your going to do fine, if the plug doesn't fit, either flip it around, if it still won't fit try another socket
Lol ๐
as long as your not activly trying to fry things your good
as for building vids here ya go

@c@pastel briar im subbed to all those guys and they're dope
yup
I agree
I am thinking of getting into the youtube content creator scene but not really sure yet...plus I don't have a camera yet, just a simple 1080P camera (I know im behind the times)
1080p is fine lol
get to it
1080p is fine lol
1080p is fine lol
woah the heck, sorry bad connection
was it complicated for u guys setting up ur power supply
no
have a prebuilt pc and i wanted too upgrade my power supply
should i be worried about the sizes?
i*
sizes?
of the power supply cuz im worried if they wont fit
yeah or are all power supplys near the same size
what prebuilt do you have, and what PSU are you looking at getting
do you know the psu in your IBP build
no i have a picture tho
send a way
ooh
and this power supply is so loud and garbage
but iu was just wondering if https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W4PLZWH/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
would fit in my case
If hei can ping ya with his input, he can get ya on the right path for a good, safe psu
yeah, he know psu's inside and out.
I've just placed an order for one
that 10 year warranty sounds nice thogh
@edgy cape that is an ATX PSU from what I see, you might want to get a picture with the whole unit in fram to be sure, but you should be A-ok with a ATX psu
nah
cuz u were saying earlier ur not sure bout seasonic
ohhh
I'm tired lol
@pastel briar so i should just look for 750 watts atx Psus?
this si fine
my bad new 2 this so might ask dumb questions
@little osprey link this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MFD2EAO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

nah it's all good
it's a 1000W PSU
I'll be honest homie I don't know, I'm building my first PC
lmao good luck
I think my parts all fine
GeForce RTX 2080 Super - On your average system we recommend a 600~650 Watt power supply unit
mines 500watts

I'm going off what he linked ;p
Tiffa is talking about me lol
lol
by mistake
I've got all my parts figured out, I'm just looking at what kind of monitor I should be getting
ultrawide gang
curved
curved ultrawide gang
I was looking at ultrawide curveds
have like 4 saved
unsure what to actually spend the money on
best place 2 buy graphic cards or dosent really matter if i get it from amazon
lol i got a sceptre and its not perfect but its nice
work?
yeah krav
Hey guys quick question. Do you suggest I get a SSD NVMe for my x399 taichi mobo or should i use an SSD SATA?
god persona 5 music never gets old
Gaming, 3D rendering/graphical design, some basic work stuff too
I'm fine with buying 2 monitors as well
pogs
ah
ultrawide isnt super great for gaming but its awesome for work. and its fine for gaming lol
budget for monitor(s)
dual is fine yes
I'm fine with dropping around 600-1,100 on a single monitor
triple usually is better cooled but not needed
@sudden turret
jesus
Then I suggest an Aorus monitor that @warm nova has
@edgy cape depending on your build you should be fine
might order from newegg instead of amazon
Aorus has the best of the best in monitors right now
ik it varies from here u live but newegg shiping does it take about a week?
oh what wrong with black
it has over heating issues i believe but theyre generally considered really bad cards
should i go for XC
i believe the XC is factory overclocked isnt it?
ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Gigabyte AORUS @sudden turret ?
@sacred obsidian do u have a recommended 2080 super i shouild get then
its about 500ish
im not sure if its the overclocked one but the XC is good

/ban
oof
cy'all
cya
baii ๐
Would it not be a bad idea and have an ultrawide monitor and a regular monitor for whatever your doing? Gaming monitor for serious gaming, switch to the ultrawide for anything else? @sudden turret
i believe it would be fine ๐คทโโ๏ธ its newegg so iif something went wrong theyd likely fix the issue. plus evgas warrenty is like 5 years
shouldve said you are building a pc for a modded gta 5 account you want
ok i think the ultra is the OC one
also no worries
if im in the chat it doesnt actually ping
are oc good?
yes
factory oc means its faster than the base model but also still covered under warrenty
and stable
ive never used EVGA and no one i really know has used it either
so if im thing happens i get a free repalcement
is it worth trying out for my new build?
i love evga
and a friend of mine had her 1070 break right before warrenty ended and they sent her a 2060 (which is slightly better)
yes i do
any specific card and cpu you guys recomend for a $1400 total build?
strict gaming and work no streaming
cya
3700x-$300
2070s- $500-650

@little osprey
prices vary

just a suggestion
ceo of list
@midnight pelican no aio
Damn I was with that build until the gpu lmao
Microcenter has the ryzen 5 2600x for $90
Iโve lost count of how much I spent.
Did have a desk or a chair or even a power strip to start. So bought a lot of stuff
Didnt *
I have a XFX Radeon R9 280 with a HP IPM17-DD2 motherboard with a i5 7600k in it. My PSU is a Corsair CX750M. I need a case that I should purchase that can house the components I have right now and later my GPU upgrade. I don't want some crazy expensive case but preferably I would like the color white. Also, I want to keep my GPU expense between $200-300 so if you have any suggestions please let me know! โค๏ธ
do I become that kid and join triple monitor gang
My friend wants to tell me his Samsung curved monitor for cheap
Would you use it?
I mean probably not
Then do it just to flex.
๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
I really didnโt need 90% of my build, but you know, yolo or whatever.
@golden bronze 1660super?
@midnight pelican I've heard a lot about it, might just have to
Is there any reason it's specs don't show on GPUBoss?
wtf is gpuboss
Helps compare GPU's
@potent prairie how many probes?
I cant even
Three
it doesnt even have 2070 super
cpu/gpu/radiator ๐
even though, you'll have those temps arleady with soft ware
but you'll atleast know your coolant temp in those areas.
Okie... Sounds good.
I need to put them somewhere
