Hey guys, I was hoping some of you Tech-Genius' could give me a little help/advice. I recently bought and built a new pc based on some third party advice, but after building it, I've had issues installing windows on the HDD so I used my old HDD and installed a fresh windows 10 64-bit OS on my pc and it's really slow. The advice I recieved gave me the impression this PC would be really fast but thats clearly not true. Im hoping that the build is fine and its something that I'm doing wrong or not doing at all that is the cause? I can't seem to install my Graphics Card Driver either, it keeps telling me Windows 10 isn't the right version (I've done all the updates available) Any Suggestions?

When Installing Windows 10, it only picks up my DVD Drive and not my HDD but both are hooked up the same?

Me either, I've installed windows a thousand times in the past, and the weirdest part is, for the displayed disks it shows my DVD drive and not my HDD but it says 0MB. Some how the windows install disc is recogniing my DVD Driver as a HDD or something

The only USB based HDD I have is my Backup HDD which has 940GB of used space. I dont have any other way of hooking my HDD up. And I cannot seem to get my HDD to show up at all to be able to format it

ok so i have a suspicion its not the hdd itself

but

it could be, but it could also be that windows didnt install correctly

so itd be the same solution, try to make a media install tool. If you can, Id still install it on the new hdd, just make sure if you do that you unplug the current hdd and the disk drive and when you plug in the usb, when you get to the select your hard drive tool, make sure you click the hard drive and erase it, and then select it to install

if you can install it on the other hdd and it is still laggy, its likely another component causing the issue. HDDs are slow but theyre perfectly functional

once you have that done, shut down the PC, plug in the new hdd and unplug the others, and then plug the usb in and turn it on. Press del to go into bios and look for your boot order and make sure the usb is set to boot first. Then save and restart, then follow the steps on the screen to install windows. At one point it will ask you to select your install location and just select the hdd, format it, and install windows.
