reason i got 5700 because my 570 die xD
if 5700 die i get 57000
xD
00000000000000
did you try turning it off and back on tho
lol
its asus expedition
it was 195$ on that time
You know Crysis 2 is a port from the PS3 and 360
theres a lot of games that are ports from ps3 and 360 lol
Well Crysis 2 was the only one from that company that did it on console first instead of PC first
n64 and psp games
That is why they made sure for Crysis 3 it would be PC first
GBA: Pokemon games
N64: Mario and Zelda
PSP: Crisis Core FF VII
i like to fill 32gb sd card on my rg350. someone created a diablo 1 on rg 350 multiplayer enabled.. via lan hahah xD
for psp
noted
on n64, conkers bad fur day is hella fun
but its very mature game
gba, the legend of zelda: minish cap all the way
its amazin
too gore
top game of our generation
but fun
Crisis Core is the best game on the PSP
agreed
let me see if i had pokemon gba already.. some games are pre installed
Ill be honest most of the main main character for final fantasy games i don't like
i know its not going to happen but i want a silent release of crisis core HD like they did with type 0
Didn't like Cloud didn't like Squall didn't like that little monkey boy (forgot his name) and i didn't like Tidus
i loved cloud, couldnt get into squal, loved tidus although not his laugh, i loved the dude from 9
some of this emulators i dont know xD if worthy to try
Just don't like the characters that thinks they can do everything on their own
like zack?
Zack was a different story cause he didn't have anyone to back him up
he had his mentor in the beginning and then cloud, plus the suit guys
Remember he was sent out on missions alone and when there would be someone they would be like "i am going on up ahead ill meet you there"
also tidus didnt think he could do it on his own
tidus was very much part of the team kinda dude lol
Tidus didn't want to do anything really
did you beat that game
i have FFX on my Switch and i replayed it and really he is like a loner
He only started to make friends with people cause he was in a world he didn't know anymore
i need to replay ffx lol
It is like if i sent you 100 years in the future you would be confused and would have to rely only people you just met
when it goes on sale ima buy it on steam
Also going back to Crisis Core Angeal was doing his own thing the turks was doing their own thing and Cloud was being like a wuss
theres 3d0 emulator, atari st, nds,dos,arcade machine, nes,famicom, gbc,gb,gba,genesis,intellivision,apple iigs, wonderswan, sony psp/ps1, megadrive,genesis,snes,pc-engine ,amiga 500,zx-spectrum, commodor,neogeo,n64,msx,zerox86
i dont even know what some of those are haha.. i know gba psp n64
FFX/X-2 goes on sale more often on the Switch than on Steam
i know most of those but i wouldnt try 3ds, or ds emulators on pc
theyre hellish to control
yeh but id rather have it on pc
I have it for PS2, PC and Switch and i prefer playing it on the Switch
ds had two screens right?
This is an old image but pretty much my console setup
i wonder what happen if it try to play that on this rg350 xD haha half screen maybe xD also mouse moving i guess. kinda hard
Raspberry Pi is behind my TV
this was mine like 6 or 7 years ago
ive added but its the only pic i have of most of my consoles
and dont worry they have been dusted since then
oh and thats my super old gaming pc on the left O:
Most of my older consoles are in boxes cause i don't have a tube TV anymore
i just had em hooked up to my flat screen xD
i tried playing SNES and NES on a modern TV doesn't feel the same
but also on that desk to the left
there was a tube tv
alright ima go make me some breakfast
how much is it all?
If you were to buy all those consoles now would be about 600$ in total
700 at most
how about their first retail price?
You mean when they came out?
If that is what you mean then about 2000$ (2500$ at most) total
When the NES first launched it was like 150$
I priced checked in 2014 and everything I had came out to about 5600 (with games) and I’ve added a lot since then
but also prices might have dropped on a lot of things. im pretty sure conker is a lot cheaper than back then lol
do remember inflation.
oh i looked it up cause i considered selling off my collection to buy other things lol
not to compare prices now and at release
@foggy hazel question for you. Using the 2080 graphics card. Is a gsync monitor better or freesync
IF you want to play to the strength of the card (and the tech), technically it is the g-sync route
@latent talon :)
Also if he has the money for it
@foggy hazel thank you so much
I'm a poor man @latent bronze currently eating shipping peanuts
i am not rich as well so
When using FreeSync you do have to do some modifications as well
you do?
mainly in the nvidia control panel
My experience with freesync is just like using gsync
Nvidia control panel and turn on gsync (even if freesync)
Also enabling Vsync on from it
never had to do that
It is in this part of the settings https://i.gyazo.com/9965dc3a56ecfd46ff51491cdc208e99.png
I need a newer monitor cause mine has FreeSync but no DP
hdmi freesync then?
doesn't work with Nvidia
has to be by DP
Can see i don't have the option https://i.gyazo.com/7c0034cdd9f5a2c0bc661ea6c850d48a.png
oof. unfortunate
Well that is why i am getting one that is 75hz and found out i could like overclock the monitor to have it at 87hz
@latent talon you are very welcome :)
the one i have now is 60hz but can be overclocked to 72hz
I would go for 144hz but also i would need more money for that
This is the one i am aiming for https://i.gyazo.com/ea528c1de767aed3330c61615348ab7d.png
75hz but IPS
total cost is 203$
cause of tax
Yee. Nice
Well for most of my games i play anyways i tend to get a max of 90 fps cause most of them are demanding story games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider
The only 2 games i play that is not demanding is Destiny 2 and Blade & Soul
yeah, most games I play wont get above 100FPS cuz im doing 1440x3440
which is what my monitor runs at, 100hz
how are you finding that aspect ratio @cursive wharf ?
Tis is nice. I dont play a whole lot of games but so far only one has decided to be annoying. That was Plagues Tale. Had to go into a Hex editor to change some hidden settings for aspect ratio
Yeah. Ended up being the cheapest QHD ultrawide I could get, MSI Optix MAG341CQ. VA panel is a slight downfall. Notice some ghosting / smearing. However that is mostly during extreme scenarios. Like my black pfp on Discord's grey background, scrolling around I can see some ghosting / smearing. Average gaming tho I dont notice it. Unless I try to read text when moving around fast (which is basically never)
Some other guy on the LTT server has it, doesnt notice anything. So idk the average amount of people that'd notice it
fair enough
Hey Hei how much were those if don’t mind me asking?
I’m personally running three 1440p LG monitors their pretty good about $380 a piece though
@shrewd trout iirc, that monitor had a 500 usd msrp, and it hovers between 400 and 500
That’s not bad for an ultra wide I was was thinking of running the Alienware one but but opted out and got the three 27” LGs
the ultrawides have one big advantage, lack of bezels
yours can be more practical for work
the 16:10/9 monitors are also able to be used in pivot, unlike the ultrawides :)
ultrawide is 16:20/21 is it not?
21:9/10 [edit: 10]
These are “bezel less” obviously not truly but not that noticeable compared to Most 27” monitors mine are on a triple monitor mount, this was actually my first ever pc build I’ve been a console gamer for a while it’s proving difficult to adjust.
which monitor model is it you have @shrewd trout ?
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black
ah yes, those
yes, they are close to bezel free on the sides and the top
however, for a pivot setup? they are infuriating
because of that bottom bezel
The mount helps pivot them however you want, well at least that’s how I solved that problem.
mind, i am fully aware that is a personal preference thing :)
its not that making them pivot that is hard, that is trivial on any vesa mountable monitor [edit: spelling]
it is more that if you pivot all 3... two of them are nice, and then "bam" bezel to the face
Ah yes true I am running them horizontally to avoid that.
for content consumption they would be nice enough
for work? unless very specific needs, i would not want it on my most annoying colleague
I was wondering for movies and gaming.
when you get to a certain size (depending on your preference ofc) distance from corner to corner will force you to move back
which adds other restraints/challenges to using it
Makes sense
currently, you are turning your neck to watch the left most monitor right?
as in, if you want to focus on the content
Give or take
that for me is not acceptable
i want my private monitor setups to be viewable without having to watch a tennis match
Well it’s been fun but time for me to go to work talk later.
enjoy
@shrewd trout I got it for 550 CAD while on sale. $412.5 USD
Phanteks p400a or Fractal Design Meshify C?
I'm tryna get good thermals while keeping my build looking nice
@dreamy iron whichever one you like the look of more.
it is your choice what you value the most.
Wow the 1600 af price just keeps rising. It's up to 110 now
which makes sense .. when you consider the intended market for it
it was supposed to be a "silent" cpu die replacement
now that the copy-paste-build-warriors have done the job , that will make PR departments and finance departments smile very widely, it is ofc time to raise the price.
For people who have built their gaming setup under $800, what are your specs in your rig?
This is pretty close to what I built my for my son:
https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/G4V323/modest-amd-gaming-build
For 800 you could probably get like a 3600/5700 build
mine is a 5700 xt i7 9700kf, which is only 150$ off from a 5700/3600 build and mine was a lot more than 950$
you would have to go full conservative on other parts
no....
The CPU alone is $150 off
EDIT: Is actually $180 difference
GPU is $70 off
I'd go either 3600/cheapx570 or just go super cheap 2500k /z77 /4x4 ddr3 for $100 then get a $500 gpu lol
but yes, $800 for a 3600+5700 build is pushing it
Yai actually tried to part it out and realized I was like 150 off lol
If you're cutting costs majorly can do $770 (not recommended)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MRYkgJ
aye
but that is the realm of "dont want the parts"
mind, the build i linked is made with an eye towards the future
you could cut the ram to 2 * 4
you could cut the case to something horrid
Thanks for the insight. So I guess my next question is if I'm looking to have the Ryzen 7 2700X, would I need the Thunderbolt 3 port to be part of the motherboard or the graphics card?
I'm looking at the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC AC AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard... But I'm not sure it has Thunderbolt 3? It's really hard for me to tell if this is USB C gen1 or gen2...
Unless... There's an alternative that has Thunderbolt 3, Bluetooth Wifi 5, 64GB RAM support.
what do you think you need the TB3 port for?
wifi 5 ghz ? or wifi 6, little reason to seek the later on built in modules
Wifi 5 (as in just WiFi AC). And TB3 just in case of future gaming components I would be developing for (I believe VR might gear towards TB3 soon. I know external graphics cards require TB3).
@foggy hazel
hmm
where to start on that
usb-c and its eventual replacement is where i would look instead
not tb3
and IF you are doing game dev work. It makes sense to go for something slightly different in specs. (but that is an aside)
It gets a little complicated differentiating usb 3.0 gen 2 type c vs 2.0/3.0 gen x type c connector vs gen2 type c connector that also supports thunderbolt 3 spec
TBF - whoever is in charge of naming changed their mind 2-3 times I think lol
good, I loved seeing micro usb go extinct
the point i am trying to make @daring nexus is that you cannot get everything at that budget
you kinda can, but it is not going to be "nice" to work with
(also, in the future, when asking for build suggestions, please state your intended use case :) )
Could go with something as old as z-170 + 6600k/7700k - but those chips are really overpriced used imo
no, just no.
wife has 6600k in her pc
on the amd side of things, the only thunderbolt board that comes to mind is this https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570 Phantom Gaming-ITXTB3/index.asp
which is a 200-ish usd board
that is without a google
mind, it is a lovely board, but ... unless you really really actually NEED it.
just dont.
i think @daring nexus that you might want to have a serious think about what you actually need. So that you dont buy a system that is based on "wants" disguised as "needs"
and yes, i am fully aware that this is a bit of a letdown, to be told that you have to go back and rethink your plans. But so far, there is nothing in what you have said that convinces me you "need" any of this.
and since i am not here to cuddle you, but here to give advice on what fits what you need.
tough luck :)
@foggy hazel Sorry, My intended use is for game design and video editing (4K, hopefully 8K in the future). I really appreciate the help. I guess you're right and I will avoid it for now.
nothing to be sorry about @daring nexus
it is just easier to try and cut the bs :)
do you have the ability to raise the budget?
What is the cheapest build you've ever seen?
@vestal cove you like overpaying for stuff?
Lol oh
5$ for pi, 5$ for micro sd card, bam, 10$ pc
the one i actually use was about 50 bucks lol
I bet it runs csgo at like 240 fps
csgo actually runs the rasp pi zero
lol the one i actually use is a rasp pi 3b+
I've built my own pc's in the past. I'm looking at building a budget gaming server for a small lan network.
Any resources or ideas?
uh to specifically use as a server? no
@edgy oasis second hand parts
but a budget pc? depends on your budget
as many high speed cores as you can get and as much ram as you can get
paired with a decent psu
oh yeah you can build a server pc pretty cheap if you get older used parts off ebay
and you are just about set
but im not knowledgable enough to do it xD
in a couple years ima build a server rack >:U
Ah. Sounds simple enough. Lol, probably need to buy a box fan
and if you are willing to ignore the look of the case, a second hand server rack compatible case can usually be picked up for very cheap
(normally with a big dent in it)
but you dont really care about that
I don't know much about server racks, but can said dent be hammered out?
proly but it wont look much better
aye, it could, it would normally be a dent that makes mounting the case in a rack difficult/annoying
hence why it is being sold
but, since you dont have a rack, it doesnt matter for you
make sense?
Ah. So I'd have to use some of my engineering skills and mechanics
aye
Hammer, grinder, some spray paint, good to go. Drill some new screw holes
the holes are only IF you need to mount it in a rack
do remember that
and if you get a 2U+ case, there are quite often handles on the front of it
Fancy
with that said, if you want to have a longer chat about it, come back at least 5 hours earlier tomorrow
:)
because i am out for the night (should have been out 2 hours ago) :)
Sounds good cheers!
@foggy hazel I do
I really do
I like to be in debt😎
I changed the mono
Mobo*
As of right now, I am working with what I have money-wise since my gaming laptop MoBo just died on its own (which graphics card and stuff soldiered as is standard). @foggy hazel
As for motherboards, I noticed that the part number seems to be the same with different brands attached.
Are there noticeable differences between: Gigabyte B450, B450M, MSI B450, ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS?
Reason: Duplicated text
sorry, mee6 isnt very smart at telling what is spam
@swift fern ill post your message for you

It's Tax Time and I'm looking to upgrade either everything THEN save for a GPU or to say forget it and upgrade all at once
Note: I stream and want to take advantage of the monitors Freesync/G-Sync capability
@lime forge thank you
no problem
Um for all of those builds you can use this cooler without any problems https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vWgzK8/arctic-freezer-34-esports-duo-cpu-cooler-acfre00063a
never heard of that brand
@latent bronze is it quiet? I'd be adding money to get the RGB. Was hoping to eventually get Corsair affiliation
And side note if I upgrade the GPU later on I'm thinking 2070super/80/80ti
they're pretty quiet and also there are always options on coolers like you don't need to spend 160$ on one
@swift fern one major thing i would replace in that build that you own is the SSD cause 120gb is too small
All honesty if you're just gaming you don't really to go with a NVMe
Storage is good enough for what you have. The rest is here
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yWhbCL
except SSD is kinda cheap. Still usable tho
Alright so basically,
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming
ASUS GTX 1060 6GB OC
16GB DDR4 3200mhz V-Color Prism mk2
1TB HHD and 500gb Boot Hard Drive.
My CPU is overclocked to about 8% (4.0ghz) and my cpu temp went up to 65 when its normally at 40-45, is there a better cooling solution i could go with, my game crashed while i was playing VRChat and the only visible issue was my CPU temps
apparently he owns the hyper 212
If it is 65c on idle i would go for another cooler if you are playing games for like 4 hours non stop
At idle with no games running it stays around 45
When i was playing games like GTA and battlefield it would go up to about 50-52
But yesterday was the first time i had that happen to me
If it is going at 65c while gaming that is like nothing still
worry when it goes to like 95 to 100c while gaming
Vrchat is cpu intensive from what i was told
@little osprey If i recall your CPU can handle up to 100c but it is not advised to always be on that temp
Ah alright
But just in case, would you have any recommendations i could have for better cooling than the prism cooler it comes with?
Ill be switching to a bigger case pretty soon anyway so ill be able to fit another fan or two
Me personally i would go with this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vWgzK8/arctic-freezer-34-esports-duo-cpu-cooler-acfre00063a
I would of dropped in the one Hei mentioned but it would be similar to the Wraith Prism
I dig it, Thanks for the recc.
I wouldn't go with that
I have the phantek enthoo pro tg
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI)
Powercolor Rx 5700xt 8gb
NZXT x62 liquid cooler
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB DDR4-3600
2tb hard drive
Samsung 970 evo plus 500gb
Corsair rmx 850w
Dell - S2719DGF 27" LED QHD FreeSync
My pc keeps losing the signal to my monitor the pc boots up no problem but sometimes when I start up a game the flickers and then goes black and the monitor says no signal detected and I don’t know much about PCs so I don’t really know what to do
@solid hawk There is an issue with the 5700 XT right now which the solution is playing the game at 1440p with a display cable
@solid hawk If you watch this you can see he has the same issue and pretty much gave the same solution https://youtu.be/tP3CmICwK54
Well here it is, my new graphics card. Today i'll be talking about why I bought it and whether or not some of my previously noted driver issues have been fixed.
Thanks for watching :)
@latent bronze wow thanks I will try it later
Anyone know a good wifi card for under 60?
USB?
yeah.
Interesting
@daring nexus the mainboards model names (the full model names) are only guaranteed to be unique when the product is made by that specific single manufacturer.
@daring nexus so you end up with a bunch of products (across multiple manufacturers) that looks similar (if not identical aside from the company name)
@daring nexus as for the actual differences, that depends entirely on the specific product. As an example: the b450 in the ones you have listed. that is the name of the chipset, so that defines the core list of things that that specific board can support.
holy tags
it is 14 hours ago, and he was very "here, not here" last night.
Jon is going to come on to like 50 pings in one channel lol
so would rather have it so that he can search and find it if he needs to
Best 144hz 1ms monitor with gsync?
I have a evga 2070 super ftw3 oc edition and I want high refresh with no screen tearing
There is no real need for ulrimante g-sync (or whatever it was called), g-sync compatable monitors would be fine. Also we would need to know what resolution you want to be running, 1080p or 1440p
@little osprey
technically yes
@little osprey that build looks sweet i only hope you have that open air. that card will starve itself of airflow being that close to the glass panel. gorgeous looking though
@dark thistle nice parts. you sure that isnt a screen shot from Pauls's Hardware on Youtube? LMAO!! almost the exact same setup!!!
@little osprey I just picked up this:
https://amzn.to/3b7kelg
It's an IPS panel (good color representation) that has a fast refresh rate and is G-Sync compatible

Hey, where I get a tube to emptying the water cooling liquid into the jar, soon we need to replace it. Anyone have link? Plus we need a pump spray something to clean it out
huh?
My husband’s pc need to replace old liquid soon
how old is the coolant?
Almost one year
do you have a picture of the build? I kinda remember your name, just not the build
I don't know.. you tell me haha 🙂
Ha xD
hardlined?
Yea
who built it?
Larry A. A deaf guy
that a regular compression fitting?
best thing to do is get up with the guy that built it for you
tell em you need soft tubing to drain it
We had a ehh argument over something that we don’t want to see him again
So umm we think we can do it on our own
If we remove the metal that’s on plate
Yea that fitting go in
This used to be like this color
Now
It’s crazy so we want to use clear liquid this time
whats the otherside of that fitting?
that you had in your hand
@warm nova do you have an idea of what this drain fitting is called
Hole
I just can't tell if it's for hard or soft tubing, or at all
It’s hard tube
ah.. then you would need to get a hard tube then .. and have it stick out the case
or find a different adapter/fitting for soft tubing
Reason: Bad word usage
yeah that sucks he left it like that
typically they are setup with a drain ball valve so you can attach your drain tube
turn the valve
water goes out
Yea
most of the time even on a hardline system the drain will be setup for soft tube
you might can find a different builder? it couldn't cost you that much..
but that drain is...different
Hi everyone, im new here to pc building. I had a problem happen with my first pc build. Wondering if someone could help me out. And point me in the right direction
Intender yeah that's what I was saying.. it's weird.
what kind of distro plate is it?
Hmm
lianli looks like
I think thats a touch aqua fitting from bitspower
THIS?
thats it
if thats the case... get you literally any g1/4 barbed fitting
and some soft tubing
🙂
Heres my thread i posted on a forum about my problem
Dont want to paste a paragraph in the chat
If not working or can’t, we will try contact the guy
you need a g 1/4 compression fitting for soft tube. you assemble the soft tube to the compression fitting and screw that into the piece you were holding in your hand. then remove the cap from the piece on the rad and as you screw in the drain it will open the valve and let the water out
Okay
also a few feet of soft tube
Order 1 meter of soft tube and the proper compression fitting for the size tube you order
you'll have to runn the crap out of distilled water in that loop tho
you got that fancy coolant in it
Yes
so it might take a few runs.
can I suggest you go Ek cloud white 🙂
https://shop.bitspower.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=7163
I think I found the manual for the distro plate if that helps
Bitspower Touchaqua Sedna O11D for LIAN LI O11 DYNAMIC (PWM)
I suggested glowing haha but it’s my husband’s
ek-cloudwhite so gud 🙂
That drain valve on your system works just like a schrader valve in tire. when its left alone it doesnt let air/water out. when you push it in it opens up
@proud holly I read what you posted, and looked at your pictures...
that's uh...
I don't even know.
dry it out the best you can, wait a good day or two until it dries and see what happens.
Somebody had said a heat pipe could have burst
But there was alot of the liquid that poured out
have you taken off the cooler and inspect it?>
Well the cooler i have on my cpu isnt fully tightened on. As i do not plan on using it. Thats also why ive yet to power the computer on. No thermal paste is applied on the cpu
there should be a um.. jumper thing that runs just the pump
the name is escaping me atm
or a seperate psu. plug pump into it so you can pump all the water out
Oh yea
but yeah spring since you're not using it, just take it out
Okay
@zenith glacier https://www.overclock.net/forum/61-water-cooling/381716-running-pump-without-turning-pc.html
Okay, I'm going to be pressure testing my loop for my Ghostbox build tommorrow... and this has been eating at me for a while and I can't seem to
Is there anyway i can find out if a pipe did burst? Without voiding warranty?
if it even burst, I really dont know
wouldnt there be significant evidence that id burst
yeah you would think there would be water all over it
It was never powered on
That cooler i have on in the pictures, is a old cooler. It did have paste previous
gently squeeze tubes while being unplugged of course and see if liquid comes out
Ive been no where close to the pc since i built it
someone else then?
other people?
that's an awful lot of liquid
Nobody has been around it
Its in my bedroom
it just doesn't make sense
maybe it was parched and took a few sips?
have you tried wiping it up? how long ago was it?
I mean yeah i can see maybe people thinking "hes covering up his mess up of spilling water"
does it feel greasy?
Found the liquid in the pc kast night
so it should evaporated by now?
what kind of warranty came with it?
@stray pine no 😂 i would accept my mess up and move on lol
also, I'm confused by the rust part
bahaha
I have warranty. Everything besides motherboard is brand new
rust should only occur if actual moisture is present
Yeah i dont know either. Some fans have rust on the screws now
but even then, it wouldn't happen overnight
@sudden turret ive had a fan aimed at pc trying to dry it out
not seen rusted screws on a pc case/fans beofre
I will take the pc down from where its located and check for the liquid. Its been drying out for almost maybe 12 hours
is the warranty not voided in this instance?
no humidifiers in the room?
and if any component is janked up, i'm not sure how responsible they are
not near any windows?
Ive no clue if its my gpu or cpu that had burst tho. And no humidifiers
Yes kinda near a window. Wish i could post pics to this chat
hmm.. new or older windows?
weather stripping can affect moisture getting into a room and causing metal to rust
you said you picked it up, and water gushed out
Pc was located here when liquid was found
Ground was soaked
No on carpet. That ledge is too small for my pc
ahhh okay
is that a sliding glass door?
is it possible that you had an intense storm and leaked into youor room?
does the pc still turn on?
@sudden turret i did get on ground to smell it and it had no urine smell
Ive yet to power on pc. Havent turned it on since building it
the amount of liquid you are suggesting I'd lean towards three things
pet
leaky door/window
spilled drink
hmm dry it out. then try a see if it posts.
if it doesnt then maybe it was the cooler
I doubt it was the cooler
Im waiting for my aio to come in b4 i try to see if it posts
if the carpet was soaked.
if not i can only guess some type of water leak near window
those pipes only have a bit of water in them
Im scared my power supply is going to explode lol
if you think it's dry, wait another 2 days
honestly, electronics are much more hearty than you'd think
use a hair dryer.
Im going to bring down pc and see if any liquid is present
And pull off cpu cooler and gpu to check pipes
bowl of rice will work
no.
Big bag of rice 😂
hair dryer.
fish tank with water is the best way to dry it off
you might be ok since you never turned it on. unless you had the psu plugged in and in had current
I mean, maybe not in your experience, but I've salvaged mutiple gpu's and other pc hardware that had water dmg
Its almost like its thermal paste
i think you will be fine then
just dry it all out. then test it
this is one of the reasons i havent gone water cooled yet. always hear things like this about lines bursting or cracks happening
looks like grease
Its chaulky
that looks like thermal paste
I seriously have no idea.
Ugh lol
you can def tell that something was wet on top of that and dried out
Heatpipes just dont have that much fluid. The spray pattern looks like it came from an animal
Ive dealt with spray from cats before. And if you have too, you know how bad of a stench it gives. There was no smell
Yeah, idk where it comes from. I dont own a tube of paste 😂
hmm.. thats not from the window
Otherwise i wouldve used my old cooler and tested to see if my pc ran
what about the tubes?
Im still looking. Not seein much of anything yet
is yours custom cooler or one of those anti leak proof ones
was talking bout your watercooler tubes. isnt that where this supposed water came from?
I have no watercooling
ooooooohhhh.... well then a squirel peed on your system
what is that fan on the bottom doing?
their pee is oderless
do you have twitter/facebook? @proud holly
Yes i do
And i put that fan there to pull in air? I dunno tbh i thought maybe itd be functional
Iike i stated b4, im new to pc building lol
that isn't pulling any air
Okay lol
haha
No haha, i got frustrated most when i had to try and close my back panel
I'd just take @sudden turret 's advice and msg them
oh thats always fun. all the wires not sitting flush
Yeah i mean theyre the ones that build the gpu. So maybe they knkw
they may even just insist you send the parts in for an RMA without diagnosing anything
you were watching a cooking show about bbqing and drool in your case right?
nothing else on the system is wet or rusted?
just the card
the rusted screws are still f....ing me up too
I'd replace them
if you have extra screws
and remove that bottom fan
im pretty sure it was a damn squirell
I would hope not. Cause then, my cats arent doing their job 🤷♂️😂
Do i do rma through newegg or msi? I bought gpu from newegg
If it's within returning period thingy, you can return it to newegg
For RMA go to msi
@proud holly @sudden turret it is 100% not a heatpipe
the first picture is what makes me the most curious
because that looks almost "mold" like
the one you posted here, of the heatsink on the gpu
sorry but none of this makes sense.
also, just to answer it: the "dent" on the heatpipe is "just" crimp mark, that is quite normal
also, in regards to the picture of the backplate of the GPU
those splash marks are weird. because IF something splashed from the side (as in, from the outside of the case and in) there would be "streaks" towards the mainboard(connector)
those look like the marks from "drops"
as if there used to be a AIO mounted above it
(talking specifically about the marks on the left side of that picture)
and now i have finally been all the way back to the start, of the talk/chat
🙂
Right, i know what you mean. But yes i thought at first something had like dripped from above it. But it was covered by the top of my desk. So then i thought it was cat urine but it had no stench
top of desk doesnt cover if something is spilled "on" the desk
it can run and "cling" to the bottom of the desk before it drips down
Right of course
and that would fit with the "splash" marks
the drop shape is what kinda gives it away
I wasnt around my pc all day yesterday and the day before i spent all day building it
anyone else around?
I know nobody was around it at the time because we were watching the superbowl
well, you dont have anything "in" the machine parts that you have told us about that could have caused it
so this is a "whodunnit" mystery for the residents of your house
I just know everyone was around me at the time. I mean i just dont know. And no liquid or drinks were around my pc at the time. My pc is upstairs in my bedroom and everyone was downstairs watching football
(also, sidenote on the "cling" comment above: The carpet that your table rests on gives the table a slight backwards tilt, which gives the water a focused "edge" to drip from)
i can only observe and comment based on what i know.
The supports have adjusters. So it has no tilt
Of course, i mean at this point i wish i knew what exactly had happened. I thought maybe some part had a defect. And thats why i came to ask
aye aye :)
But even with that much liquid theres no way it couldve been a heatpipe
there are no parts that have that amount of fluid in them, aside from an AIO
Exactly. And this is my first pc build. Im not going that route for my first build 😂
Took me 4 hours just to do this one. Let alone imagine how long it would take to build a hard line pc
@stray pine yes, as i just said :)
i know. just making usre people read it right
aio is not hardline :)
got ya back
Well i read heatsinks have a little bit of "coolant" or "liquid"
Yeah I know i just had reread what u said and i had completely said opposite. I am getting a aio tho
:)
I wouldn't be getting anything until you figure if your components are good
But whats the thermal paste residue on my gpu from?
and like naed said 'whodunit'
that is the next "good" question
something happened.
aye
that is for sure.
its the only possibility
Of they better. This is expensive s%*t hwre
please do not take this the wrong way. But from my perspective, i cannot trust what you say either.
hence why i am trying to explain the reasoning behind my observations.
those are nice parts too 😦
I get that. I dont blame you. But i mean in my defense, why would i ask for help if i had split water on my pc? At that point i know what would happen and go from therw
That's the thing, it just doesn't make sense 😛
@proud holly i have been doing this type of work for way too many years to answer that in a way that doesnt insult you
please just trust me, i have heard em all
I agree. And this being my first pc. Im just lost on what had happened or what could cause this
Oh i dont doubt it 😂
At this point. Only componets that i think could be damaged are my psu and gpu. But idk to what extent of damage is done
probably not damaged at all since no power was connected
yeah if nothing was powered, you're probably good
if you got a spare card try and post it
after its dry
or if your board has built hdmi
I do have one. But shouldn't i try my new one first to see if its working?
i woundt risk it
but baby steps
board first then add card later if you feel comfy about it
I dont feel comfortable about any of it at this point lol
the following is NOT my blessing to power on the system:
But based on what you have shown, there should not be a risk.
but, that is based on what you have shown.
My floor is still drenched too. Still, no smell. If i was to think anything would be spilt on or around my pc. Would be beer 🍻
@foggy hazel you dont think my gpu is at risk of anything even with that residue?
and the following might sound annoying/mean/weird: Please go and do something else until you can objectively look at what is in-front of you
because, as things stand right this second, i personally, dont have enough info.
But i am leaning very hard towards a "whodunnit"
Even if someone did do something. Im not able to return anything am i?
(and no, with that added context (picture above) i would not turn on anything)
you are able to take the parts and stuff them where the sun does not shine on the people/person that is the cause of it
and no, no returns on that, because that residue on the finstack is not something you can clean enough
(without tearing the card completely apart and putting it back together again)
that is a lot of water dmg..
Oh man, i could cry rn. This is heartbreaking
as i said, step back
do something else
stop thinking about it.
(if you can)
get some sleep
and attack the problem tomorrow
because currently, you are not in the frame of mind for actually figuring it out
my pc is water cooling, I don't even think I have that much water.
(and that is not meant as an insult)
Lol i couldnt even sleep last night due to this problem. And i have nothing else to do around here lol
all i can offer is a "best of luck"
Thanks everyone for the help. Even tho i couldn't figure out much of anything. Guess i will keep everyone updated if im in a good mental state after everything is figured out 😅❤
best of luck
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vctjNq ordering the rest of these parts tomorrow (I already grabbed the ram and case, and I can get the chip for a pretty discounted price). What do you guys think of this build?
for an intel build, it is decent
Kinda need to go with intel. I really was looking into doing a Ryzen build but my mom works at intel so I've been forced into getting an intel chip. That's also how I can get the chip for so cheap
that sucks you're forced to get a certain thing
but if it's really cheap, I'd buy it too
😄
I mean, she's paying for it :) It's a bday present but i really dont deserve it lmao. im way too spoiled
Thanks man 😂
Does anyone have a nice build for 2500 USD? With ryzen
At that budget, you can basically do anything
because 2500usd is the best of the best
This for gaming or other stuff?
You want just PC or PC+Monitor+Peripherals
^
Reason: Bad word usage
Lmao
excuse my language sorry
What u say

yeah that's a reasonable build
Is the cooler you added needed, isnt the stock good
you can just put in like a 2tb barracuda and have 50$ spare
it might, but you'd have to go by s/n I'd assume rather then name
(and add in like a NH-D15)
At least get some kind of dual-fan cooler
one of the aeros or LMG
The psu isnt compatable
DRP4 but thats also high price
I really want to see CNPS20X to be avaliable in the US
its even slightly better than the d15, at like 70$
Is it worth getting a full-mod powersupply if I don't plan on getting custom cables?
I mean its just nice to have
if you have the extra cash yeah
doesn't matter for custom cables
helps with cable mgmt
Usually the pricing between full-mod and semi-mod is very minimal
Okay yeah for sure, thank you gentlemen
it's just a nice to have

Thanks lol
it's just to many lines.
Ah
lot of money spent on looks when you could go perf with a 2080Ti
doesnt give much
What's the difference between the one you posted to the stock amd
It's just better lol
Sure stock AMD is good for stock coolers, but it aint much compare to full blown coolers
True I'll prob switch it out for a black one lul
I mean macho rev b doesnt even seem that different
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/thermalright-macho-revb/6.html
I'll keep it in mind, but at such a similar price, I'd pay a bit extra for the Noctua tax.
if CNPS20X comes tho
That would just be better than d15
some RGB, better perf, cheaper
might be helpful if you specify the parts that are out of stock
looks in stock to me
well can't help you there
buy it from newegg
So far I have down Corsair cx650 bronze semi modular Ryzen 5 2600x, RTX 2070 Trident Z 16 gig 3200, WD Blue 500 gig m.2 , Asus strix b450-f and a snowblind case any suggestions
Oh and a ASUS VG278Q
go from CXM to CX. CXM is kinda eh
I think I've asked this here before but what do you guys think the best-quality RGB Case fans are for the under-35 pricepoint
preferably a 3 or 5 pack
What are the cheapest parts i can get that can run fortnite/cod/minecraft at a descent fps
well you could buy a pack of potatoes and run minecraft so about $5
also @little osprey what is decent fps?
and what resolution/settings
Atleast 100 @1080
the 1650 super could probably get 100 fps on high settings in FN
oh ok
Im going with amd soley for the price
do you live in the US?
Yes
0
sounds good
Its a budget build
also how budget is budget?
oh ok well i think for a 1650 super build is around 550-600 depending on stuff like what case and how much storage you want
I made this one real quick just to get a ballpark, you can go cheaper on the case, psu, and if you dont need 1tb, the storage
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YNDDk6
you could also go with a rx 570 and save about $50 on the gpu alone but you would probably have to lower the settings on games to get 100 fps
made this one for $520
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rhZsn7
Now what the difference from the mobo u selected and the b450-hdv
the rev 4.0 one?
mostly the 2 dimm slots vs 4
so i guess if you dont plan on upgrading ram anytime soon you could go with that one
alright guys i have a question
also the VRM doesnt look great but idk
what do i need to upgrade in my build?
Think ill go with the cheaper
Ryzen 3 2200G, 1650 SUPER, B450 TOMAHAWK, 8 GB Ram, 500W PSU
also i think you could probably downgrade the cpu to a 2200g or a 3200g
me?
no talking to dot sorry
what about me :^)
does your mobo have 2 or 4 ram slots?
probably but it will definately help in future proofing
wdym by "future proofing"
i mean like if you want to get a better gpu in the future, you will probably be bottlenecked by your ram
Ram wont directly affect fps
also eli how much are you wanting to spend?
Lol
thats proper thermal paste application right there
oh well then ya the only thing you could really get is more ram, or maybe more ssd storage if you are using hard drives
And i can just get windows pirated and throw it in there
Is their good white cpu coolers
I got you dot
@little osprey if you can view it, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FTP2b8
i found it the LIAN LI O11 Dynamic XL ROG clone xD haha 70% cheaper TECWARE VXR CASING TG
not clone like feels like it i guess the position of fan and hdd hotswap xD
Looks good
2080 SUPER and 1080p ?
You're definitely going to push frames with that card at that res.
I would recommend 1440P though, I would say a 2080 super is meant for 1440p, could even be fine for 4K
1440 p is the sweet spot imo
i mean its my first build so Im jjust throwing what people recommend after watching a couple tests
what VA IPS monitor do u recommend for 1440p?
idrc about wide monitor
Also with a 2K budget you sould be able to fit a 2080 ti
Ah my bad the monitor's in the budget too
yep
