i5 9400ish is around a 3600
9600K is what then
Oh cool
Let me check the SSD prices
like a 3700x ish
And monitors are cheaper, but TV prices are equivalent, but I think there are more options available here and it really depends on the model
Whats a 9700K then? 3900X
Yeag
also if you can find a deal on a 8700k its technically better than a 9700k
How about case fans, if i get the meshify c are there any rgb fans for cheap
The 8700K is more expensive like, always
yeah thats what I run in most of my pcs a 8700k
Hows it better
there are usually kits of 3 fans that arent too badly priced
The 9700K has higher boost
8700k has less cores but more threads
I got it
Ill get an i9 and just play of the intergrated graphics until next year
When i get a 2080ti
Im genius
also my 8700k on my main is OC-ed to 5.3ghz on all cores making the boost thing irrelevant
There’s a $40 256GB NVME by Samsung here
Gen4?
But it’s a locally sold model
yeah is it gen 4?
Gen 3
Oh ok
I mean we can get 500GB 970 evo for like $60
yeah gen 4 is stupid expensive
but with my intel cpus I dont have to worry about it lol
It’s like 50 here
nice at least you get some samsung love
53-4 ish maybe
Fr
Samsung LG screens all that
Yeah
Yeah I would love trying out a SAmsung SSD but kinda off my budget for now
Mhm
there are cheaper options that are comparable in speeds
Definitely
I’m sure there are
I would not get that expensive of a motherboard
Which should i get then
You’ll get a lot of frames at 1080p
Ik
1150 for me
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145068 something like this would be fine with that cpu
up to you just seems silly to spend so much on the mobo and not getting a $300+ cpu
Can someone build me a Super good PC For 2-3k on PC Part Picker Monitor/Peripherials also
1080p or 1440p
Either Or
Its for a friend and he is going to use it for work
posted on Facebook he was gonna buy a mac book
told him not to spend 5grand on something for 2-3k lol
Yeah lol
Im helping him with it
Yeah its gonna be light gaming, heavy workstation
xD
Im on a mission
i have a budget of 1600 and want to build an epic rgb build
while not sacrificing too much performance
1700 nvm
Could someone help
Wow that was fast
Thanks
why are those fans so expensive tho wtf
Sorry but uh i kinda meant like, everythings rgb and not 300 on fans lol
those fans are really nice its corsair pwm so the mobo controls the speed based on the temp. would u rather have chinese ones that are full blast and really loud 24/7
No
Each three pack comes with one
Yeah
here ill build you on pc partpicker
The price is so weird
brb
@proud helm ummmm. You do know there are much cheaper PWN RGB fans
Also, 3 pin can be easily controlled via voltage
Decently quiet sure. Not worth the more then 4x price increase from say upHere
Probably not doing any OCing right away, ill just use stock fan
The wraith prism is pretty good ive heard
Good stock cooler, not that great of a cooler in general
ok
Ill upgrade cooler later
AMD Confirms 6-Pipe Wraith Prism Coolers Are Counterfeit xD
but the design tho its so identical
xD
I knew it
also its still free out of the box
Whatever
its right at the 1700 threshold
so you can replace the 2080s with 2070s
also u need to ask @cursive wharf about psu im not that gut
guy
i put a 750 g3 idk if thats good
Thats with everything
Dont need a 2080s im only playing at 1080p for now
Will get 1440p 144hz but i can just turn down settings then
idc if theyre technology is the fastest i always think wired is faster
my opinion lol
Yeah might change to deathadder elite its a good mouse for 25 dollars
what did you change i cant tell
yea
id say basilisk its more erginomic
cant spell
2070 to a cheaper one
bruh
i dont blame you
you want to get the best for the monmey
and its a lot of money
so
Im spending a lot so i need the best
My first was so bad
I spent like 600 on peripherals
are you an experienced builder
ok
@stark siren what case u got
Bad airflow
maybe you could get a mid tower with preinstalled rgb like towers that you can see the fan in the front
Razer is not that great for the price tbh
Also, G3 is overpriced. Pretty meh for what it is
Idk any better brand
Gor peripherals at least
this is the psu tier list look on there its 80% correct
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 7.1 welcome to the brand new PSU Tier List! Created and maintained by @Princess Luna, @DatTestBench, @Stefan Payne, @GreatMasterAden, @PSUGuru, and @LukeSavenije Last Update: 21-01-2020 Tiering of various units is opinion based off reputable sources lin...
TT is also overpriced for PSUs. Quality is poor comparitive to compitition
Heis the psu jesus dont defy him
frl
G2 is pretty good. Tho usually highly overpriced. Occasionally some sale may make it a good buy
Ok well heres a question, if you were to spend 1600-1700 what would you get
evga w1 lol
Doesnt need any rgb or anything
the parts i sent you lol
However, it apparently follows some P2 issues. Which during a blackout can cause legitimate problems, damaging the PC
except cheaper ram because of rgb
RAM can be Ripjaws 3600 or Neo 3600. Make sure it's cl16 timings
As for PSU probs a 650w Phanteks AMP or Corsair RM/RMx
@upper condor Id go with the EVGA 2070 Super instead
Which one
It is good but one thing and this is just my personal preference is i would use ASRock over Asus
But they only have a super cheap one
Why is it better just asking
I tend to find that ASRock is more reliable than Asus even for the whole customer service
Cool
212 isn't a good cooler for the price
Nvm, you changed it. Could maybe change SSD. While it is M2 it isn't NVMe
Might be able to find an okay 500gb NVMe for that price
SSD is fine
If his system is for just gaming and streaming you wont notice anything different between nvme and sata
Well a lot of people using it but it is not my taste
SSD is fine, but overpriced
I need help with uninstalling gpu drivers from an old gpu, and installing new gpu drivers -- may someone help me?
great prices of Permission Denied
@winged hollow when making a personal list make sure to uncheck the make it private
So first 1080p gaming and second mild 1440p gaming
k. which is better for price
do you think
1080p and 1440p don’t make a difference to me. as long as it’s over 1080p it’s fine by me. i don’t want like 720p or lower
@latent bronze
U playing 1080p 144hz?
hello im a new builder and would like to know if some parts i have not ordered yet are any good
What are they
hold on one sec ill send a link
Ok
@winged hollow Too much money spent on looks. If you arent streaming then 5700XT. If you are then 2060S
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Tv7PgJ
i already ahve my CPU case SSD and power supply
i sent the linkl for my build to my friend now i cant get it to you to show you
but i awnt to know if this GPU is any good
F
20:10
yeah its the same time
Im not tired tho
lol
Can some 1 help me install win10 on my pc
Its not letting me
Bringing up a 0x80300001 code
ok i have made about what my current stuff is on this
you changed the m.2 drive why
ok
the one i sent is a nvme which is significantly faster in write speed and read speeds
@upper condor https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NgMpmg
@rose axle dont put the windows 10 thing thats a waste of 100$ you can install it for free and activate for 3$ on ebay
ok
psu?
mcaffee is waste windows defender should be just fine as long as you arent stupid lol
yea evga br is bad
go for the corsair cs
cx*
power supply
whats your budget?
ive already bought it
its at my house
should i not ahve done that?
yea evga br is kinda bad right @cursive wharf ?
the 500W powersupply?
what is evga
evga is a company lmao
oh
all that stuff is already bought
oh
execpt the hard drive
no
just the parts?
Where’s the GPU ?
oh yea wtf
2600 doesn’t have igraphics
the CPU SSD Case and Mother board
whats the case
ok its fine
it has two fans tho
nice
The BR is pretty cheap. If can be replace I'd suggest so, but doesnt have to be
so my advice now is save yourself 100$ and install windows for free and activate it for 3$ on ebay
and get rid of mcaffee antivirus
even if you bought the windows 10 it most likely is pirated
so installing it via usb thumbdrive is the way to go
yes very
really?
k
or
if you cant get it get the second link it has more vram then your first one that you sent me
im gonna go with the later
later?
latter
$20 more expensive is fine
?
ye
brb
yes
k im back
hey guys this is my first build and i want to play CS:GO at 60 fps, will this build be able to do that?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wPCJmg
ok ill try to find room in the budget for more
good
im looking at it and im gonna hold off until i get a refund my stuff that i ordered (ram and ahrd drive) got sent tot the wrong adress
rip
@tranquil dust no
Reason: Bad word usage
WAIT
i think you need another optical drive
the swear was meant for someone else
@teal bison idk if i can fit that in the budget
wtf why are 32 in 1080p monitors $9000
dang
lucky
pretty sure you could hit 8k 240 fps on that thing
well thats if you are streaming, recording, watching youtube, and programming a game at the same time
i like how with that cpu/gpu, you could probably get like a lot better performance by getting the 3000g for the same price
probably lmao
I’m waiting for income tax
guys
i broke my friend
i showed him my PC
{GIOMEM ASASECOn
I HAV TOHTER TOI DOL
this is what he said
english pls
?
english
oh
his friend said that
hes saying he broke his friend
like when you break a keyboard
you broke his friend when he shows him his pc
and said that
oh
yeah lol
confusing topic
Oh my god I love the Lancool ii, I mean to be fair I haven’t ever built in particularly nice cases but this thing was just like a whole different thing from the cases I’ve used for my friends
I have to fill out the space on the right side though
I have 3 pin rgb but my mobo only has 4 pin for rgb. Is there an adaptor to connect 3 pin to 4 pin?
@cursive wharf my problem is i need liquid cooling as i run way to many things at once
those things are necessary
well what do you run? liquid cooling often doesnt really benefit unless you pour a decent amount of money into it
is the wraith spire cooler that comes with the 3700X good enough
Every Ryzen stock cooler is "good enough"
yes
Wasn’t that a question ?
i will oc but not at high levels
might want to get an aftermarket cooler then if you want to
i mean as long as its undrr 70 while gaminf should be fine ig
actually i probs wont oc considering it wont make much of a difference in a 3700X
ive heard in a 3700x its not worth it
ya not much of a performance increase
yeah id overclock ram tho to at least 4000 mhz which i hope does not create too much heat
is a 700 watt psu enough for a 3700X/5700 XT with ram and gpu overclock
thanks
yup
Ahhh, someone posted this on Reddit asking for suggestions
Boy did I have alot of suggestions lmao
thats a yikes right there
@viral ore you can get Windows 10 key for like 115$ less lol
I'm helping my gf build a pc. It's got an i5-9600k and my old GPU, a 1060 3gb. We didn't order a PSU because I had a few old ones laying about.
She's building it at her dad's house (divorced parents) which is quite far away. Thus if we can't finish the build today it'll be another half month before we can work on it again.
Problem is, none of my old PSUs have the necessary wattage to power these parts. So we're going to order a new PSU and finish the build two weeks from now. I was thinking in the meantime, would it work to have two separate PSUs plugged in, one to power the GPU, and one for the CPU and Mobo?
it can work, you just need to shortcircuit the 20(+4) pin cable to start the second psu @marsh adder [Edit: shortcut->shortcircuit]
Oh right. Paperclip power.
as long as you are comfortable with doing that, it can work
Sure.
Hi there friends, im thinking of building a pc instead if buying a prebuilt because ive heard its cheaper, and I have a budget of around 1500-1600 dollars
Im not very good with parts, so could someone help me out?
Are you familiar with pcpartpicker?
I can't recommend stuff for that budget as I've only ever done budget builds, but this is always useful: https://pcpartpicker.com
With $1500 you could probs go with a recent gen i9 and one of the RTX cards.
Ah sorry. I'm not the best person to help then.
Ok thanks anyway
👍 good luck.
@ripe olive what do you plan to use the machine for?
Maybe a bit every once in a while, but no
ok
is that budget only for the computer itself? or does it include monitor and other peripherals?
what monitor do you have?
could you find the model number?
either on the front bezel (edge)
or on the back together with a bunch of other mumbo-jumbo on a white sticker
Max is 1650
Like, cool colors?
or would you prefer a discrete looking case?
basically, what i am asking is this:
performance or visual being the most important?
If its a bit more expensive and doesnt affect performance then i would love if it was a visually attractive
Computer
is there a size restriction on the case size?
Nope
it is a simple choice in regards to mainboard to have it included
and it is the cheaper way to do it
cheaper as in: mainboard with wifi is cheaper then mainboard+add-in card
do you have any understanding of how much storage you will need @ripe olive ?
which games
@ripe olive noted.
@latent bronze r6, NOT fortnite, civ 5, minecraft(with mods), probably some smaller free games
CSGO
Thats it
Probably more over time but not mucu
Give or take for storage would need 500gb to 1tb
Are games smaller on pc?
I have an xbox with a 2tb external drive
And use about half
I di have 60 games installed......
CS GO isn't really that big and other games like R6S and Civ 5 would be between 20gb to 70gb
@ripe olive i have a couple of case suggestions for you. Would you prefer just getting the names (so you can look them up yourself) or would you prefer links?
i don't own minecraft so i don't know the exact amount of storage needed with mods and for the smaller free games for most that i know is usually between 5gb and 20gb
Just names
@latent bronze could you go back to your game instead? what you are talking about is of no importance :)
case suggestions: Fractal Design Define Mini C
note that both cases come in variants
both colour and window wise
Are smaller cases cheaper?
not really
some of the really small ones are very expensive
same goes for some of the really big ones
because both extremes are very niche
what i linked you
is imo a good investment of a case
because i would recommend looking at case purchases as an investment
you will have it for a LONG time
Mhm
just like a good psu
Ill do more research into cases
a good case will last you a very long time
Definitely
aye aye, no problem on the case :)
everything else can easily adjust to whatever you end up with as your choice of case
i have a list building
Oh ok
A good case could also cost between 50$ to 80$
i am going to add a "placeholder" case to the list. so that there is room in the budget for it
Ok
@ripe olive If you were planning on building a system with a micro ATX board the MasterBox Q300L from Cooler Master is very good
Ok
the budget you have, automatically keeps you away from the really cheap razor sharp budget cases
and you dont seem to have any interest in a super small build (where size is a premium)
Yeah no i dont
so, as said, you dont have to worry about it
Ok thanks
@ripe olive Do you plan on playing said games at 1080p or 1440p and also do you have intentions on streaming
i would recommend that you read the backlog, those questions have been answered.
and streaming or no?
Ok so pretty much your build might actually cost less than what you would be planning on
If you don't plan on streaming the GPU of choice would be a RX 5700/RX 5700 XT
@ripe olive did you have a look around for cases or?
okay, i will place a (not cheap) placeholder then :)
If i could make it cost less with the same performance that would be nice
And then I could make it look awesome
here is what @latent bronze forgets when he mentions what he does
balance of the build, use-case, performance follows price.
Mhm
not saying that spending 2000 on a gpu would be a good idea
obviously
however, things are not black and white in regards to choices.
Yeah
I dont know why people spend as much as they do
It doesnt help having over 300 frames does it?
well, there are plenty of people that would consider your build very expensive
And a few that think of it as pocket changw
as in, just the thought of (for them) having a budget like that
aye, it goes both ways
Exactly
you got the ability to jump on voice chat for a rundown on "why" the parts i have chosen are on the list?
Not right now, but maybe in like 10 minutes?
For competitive games like CS GO people want to have 300 frames
no rush @ripe olive
Is there like, a list that you could send that i could look at?
aye, just saving it now
Thanks
keep in mind, there are a bunch of details that you are missing
but that is the list
Yeah
and that is the higher end version
with parts chosen for getting a feel for the budget
while some parts are chosen more expensive than they have to be
and that is done on purpose, because it is part of what we are going to talk about :)
Why does it say it needs an update ir something
Oh ok
Im surprised you fit so much in that budget
The prebuilys that price had like a 2060 i5 for over that
aye
keep in mind, you are paying for the assembly too
and that is not only "time to actually build it"
learning/knowing how to assemble it
aye aye
just saying, that time has a cost :)
and that is some of the difference .)
Yeah definitely
But if anyrhing goes wrong it will be fine
Because i will know how to fix it
Or sorta know how to
aye
If i were to make it look super cool(colors and whatnot) how would i do that
Or start to do that
Because i have no doubt that this build would work well, but maybe not be the nicest looking
(Not critiquing your choices, love them)
hey, i dont pick for visual, i picked for performance :)
if you could not critique the visual, you would have a fairly odd taste :)
Very true
3800X and don't even slap on a DH15?
reading the text would benefit you @latent bronze :) it is part of the things that needs to be talked about. Because placeholder
With a mild oc a u12 is more than enough
I am so surprised you fit so much eow
wow
You do know for the games he mentioned and if not streaming he could just spend a lot less for a RX 5700/5700 XT
as i said, reading could benefit you
@ripe olive ready for that chat?
fair enough :)
Alright\
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vpKZzN what do you guys think reason Case in not included is because I already have one
is there a specific reason that you are making things harder for yourself in regards to ram?
Any particular reason for 32gb of ram?
For most tasks, 16gb is more than enough
okay
Is she doing any heavy video editing?
Or making a ramdisk?
If not, just one 2x8 is good enough
no video editing just streaming
@little osprey you planning on running a hefty OC on that?
ditch the water and get a thirdgen cpu instead
edit it please lol
1100 limit?
1200
do you know if her audio equipment is usb based or not? @little osprey
its audio jacks
okay :)
this is a different take on it @little osprey
i kept the mainboard, because the audio chip is as good as it gets on a mainboard
and finding a replacement that might be a bit cheaper will take some time.
i cut the ram to 16gig total
side graded the m.2 ssd, because price
upgraded the gpu because room in budget
upgraded psu, because it makes sense to have something decent in a system like this.
sadly pcpartpicker does not list audiochips in their mainboard section
hai
IF there is made further room in the budget, the next thing is a proper air cooler
think of it as not having to oc at all
I mean just throw a water cooler in it because ill be mostly paying for it anyways
and just letting it do its own thing.
I just joined this chat and was about to ask for help on a gaming build with 1100 budget
ok
water is wasted.
really?
yes, really
hmm alright just add a good air cooler she wanted some rgb
is there any newegg staff available to chat?
unless you have a serious need to remove a metric ton of heat? water is a waste.
okay
that is with a good air cooler, yes, you could pay more for a bigger chunk of metal, but you dont need it.
@deep patio lucky :)
@hidden sleet ask @inner sphinx
hey darklord
oof
send him a pm.
ok
IDK much about computers etc. but that should be enough for 120FPS+ 1080p medium settings right?
yes
mind, if you dont need the extra storage, remove the barracuda drive @deep patio
hmm
feel like my library is 300GB XD
that is without the mech drive and without the nice air cooler.
the stock cooler is plenty fine for stock
i wont need to OC so thats fine
should I wait tho? I heard about new gen
or something along those lines
new gen of "what"?
cpu
because there is always a new gen of something on the way
ii read something about cpus and GPUs
nothing new right now in regards to cpu on the desktop platform
oh ok
there is always rumours about the competition having a "faster! better!" thing right around the corner
makes sense
i have not seen a single semi-competent rumour about that thou
so, if you want/need a new system, then now is the time.
you are above the budget for what was "just" released (which was the 5600xt)
that is a 280usd card
no no Ik that XD just to see if prices go down
they wont
people still buy parts, so the prices we have now, for better and worse are roughly where we are stuck for a while.
Hmm ok
@little osprey you saw the updated list with the air cooler right?
Ive been trying to game on PC for a while npw. Gonna use all the moneys I had saved for console new gen on tis XD
fair enough :)
you are very welcome @little osprey
Do you know how much I can get a 144hz display for?
I have keyboard and mouse but Im switching from a 40in TV.
i see theres TN and VA panels
have fun :)
you are welcome :)
and yes, it was not that i didnt want to explain, but it is easier with pictures etc
:)
then the price is going to be quite different on the monitors
24" 1080p@144 is 180 usd
27" is 210
aye, it is also 290 usd
yep I'll keep looking tho
aye aye :)
I feel like I'll embarrass myself rn
What
about the OS, Windows 10 64-bit right?
What about it
Yeah
home works fine
dont buy the 99 one
@deep patio there are NO stupid questions. only silly answers
see pm @upper condor
Up to you
Naed
yes @wispy matrix ?
Nae nae
Amd or intel
depends on workload
I have my budget and I’m on the part picker website
unless you convey the workload, we cannot answer you
Usually in most cases AMD is the better value currently
I am gaming and a bit of designing and some streaming and a budget of 1200
amd
nvidia
2sec, i just put together another build that will most likely fit you quite nicely
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GLb84n <- remove the barracuda if you dont need the space, and upgrade the ram
3700x and tomahawk then put extra money towards quieter cooler?
tomahawk is bad value for what it is, unless you specifically want to OC the pants of it
the reason for the strix in that list is the soundchip
so @wispy matrix unless your audio equipment is usb? the only sensible replacement is another board with the 1220 chip on it.
quieter cooler? the prism isn't really loud to begin with 🤔
it is not, but IF the money is there in the budget, i would agree that the next thing to upgrade would be a air cooler.
you cut the wrong drive
the ssd is worth every cent
and then some
also, that mainboard is not giving you any benefit that you can actually use
and the ram is slower
Just give me some motherboards and a better drive
i already did in the original setup
also, water is imo wasted
but IF you want water, that is fine
but you dont NEED water
Ik about the water part
So no CPU cooler
there is one in the box with the cpu
still no ssd
I’m soon gonna change the case but what’s ssd
@teal bison if you are not oc'ing the pants of the cpu. no.
it has a lowend soundchip
vrm quality is way way overrated for consumer setups
@wispy matrix ssd = solid state disk. Think of it like a super fast harddrive
ok then why not just get like a b450m pro-m2 max?
because bad soundchip
So what about the Samsung 860 Evo
other one makes more sense performance and price ratio wise @wispy matrix
@wispy matrix the board you picked isn't updated out of the box
it is ecks
unless the vendor has stock from before the launch date of the ryzen 3000 series
F40 is the bios version that has support, that bios version was released in mid may last year iirc
Well Newegg would have to update the information then
Pics are not loading
vendor page info is NOT reliable unless you have specifically verified it yourself.
manufacturer info and common sense ... generally work better
I’m looking at motherboards
that board is Ryzen 3000 ready, ignore Ecks

@latent bronze look in specifications too
@wispy matrix 887 chip too
I see what’s wrong with that also
anyone aware of a mainboard list that contains the soundchips too?
the MSI B450M Gaming Plus doens't have a Ryzen 3000 ready anywhere on it
nope, but it is however able to be flashed without a cpu, so it is basically "ready" @eager chasm
When I looked up 887 it came up with ASRock X570M Pro4
mainboard with sound chips?
@wispy matrix that makes no sense, the Pro4 has the 1200 chip
Dont mother boards have them usually?
its the version of them @eager chasm
Naed I’m new to this
if there is an audio out on my MB that's all I care about
aye, i know @wispy matrix :)
what i was looking for was something like this
@eager chasm
if you scroll to the CD column, you will see the realtek chip names listed
@wispy matrix let me just quickly modify a list for you.
Plz do I’m going brain dead
sorry about the information overload :)
It’s fine
IF you can live with the budget being 1206 usd
then that is a solid build
@wispy matrix the above link is for you.
Ik
ok :) just making certain :)
I’m just doing something rq
no rush
6 dollars is not a big difference lol
it is technically above the budget you set, hence i mention it :)
its above the budget i set but atleast its not 1500
thats the one thing i dont like
yes, the case if boring, but it is a solid case
and in the performance vs budget case? it wins
if you are willing to spend a bit more, then choose a different case

i dont think there is a variant of fractal design case i have not built in on the other hand
ik
yes, absolutely, but my personal requirement is that i have built in them
or i would not recommend them
Problem with the case you posted Beast is all lights no real airflow
DIY PC cases can be a pain to build in sometimes, but they are cheap and usually have good airflow
Rip kobe
Deepcool as well can be a real pain to build in
i would have to take your word for that @eager chasm and i have not interacted enough with you to trust you to that extent.
Oof
fair enough
i can also get a nzxt case also
aye, you could
are deepcool cases good
inb4 the NZXT meme case with it's sub-par airflow
@slim jetty for what
@wispy matrix When picking a case always airflow first and looks second
It give good fps
Woah there
@sudden turret reeeeeee
@latent bronze give me a break
@sudden turret someone avoiding the filter for racial slurs above
He black it's ok
