For $100 get Corsair RM 650w
Ok thanks
@vivid atlas both the same
gaming plus sucks more due to less features tho
like BIOS flash back
corsair is like 120 though
750w is 120
:OOOOOO
650w is 100
don't need bios flash back if you do it right the first time
For $20 more get an RMX, it’s a lot better
Thats a regular RM
That’s not terrible
spending 40 bucks more is already pushing it
new RM and RMx are basically the same
80+ with a garbage company apparently xD
@cursive wharf yes, but RMX is more reliable
I use a Asrock X470 Master SLI/AC , it's decently feature packed, with the things I care about atleast
not really
I'm actually pretty sad rn
You guys realize the one thing not to skimp on is the PSU. Really. Don’t do it.
My friend got a x570 prime, a 1 tb samsung ssd, and a ryzen 5 3600x for 315 dollars
LOL
I skimped on my PSU, no problems so far, it's been about a year
@cursive wharf from my research, the RMX rarely decreases a PC’s longevity but the RM can. They’re basically the same except the RMX has higher quality coils and capacitors
@eager chasm how did you skimp
They’re fine
And it's been pretty reliable so far
750w photon isnt amazing. Keep it at 650w or so
It’s not usually
I'm still pretty new to building
technically the same, but photon is a mid tier
dont want mid tier in a high end system
Reason: Bad word usage
LMAO
oof
Oof
I returned my RM650 for a RM750x, probably not worth it but FULLSEND
@vivid atlas best list I’ve seen
I skimped on my sister's PSU more, a 450W EVGA non-mod
@vivid atlas thats the wrong pcpp link
o there
😂
Not bad for a budget build Zilk
No longer a spicy meatballa
Maybe downgrade to a 580 to upgrade your CPU
get a b450 motherboard
Yep
My red devil 580 is a beaut
And the 3600 is a lot better
It runs league of legends at like 280 fps with my setup
New architecture
^
What about a b450 tomahawk
Aight
My league of legends is like 400-600 FPS
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/38PWcq
Final Final build, + x5 Noctua fans.
That’s my list
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dD4fNQ This is mine, just change my PSU to evga and my ram to viper gaming patriot ddr4 3600
dont get a 3600 on a 700 dollar budget
just get the cheapest b450 motherboard you can find and a 2600
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/38PWcq
Final Final build, + x5 Noctua fans.
if you arent overclocking, anything past that is unnecessary
OOP double post
Verge: yea my League of Legends runs at 60FPS, but that's cause uncapped it, I prefer to play like that

Yeah, my uncapped is 240+ but i play it capped at 60
2700 is worse than 3600 for the fact that the 3600 has their new architecture
if hes getting an rx580, upgrading the cpu is useless
@viral ore that’s not necessarily true
no no, @silver meteor 2600 < 2700 no?
It depends on his use
Why cap league of legends?
@dark hearth I’m talking about 3600, obviously the 2700 is better than 2600
Oh yeah
I’m getting a 3800x
DansGame
useless for gaming, mostly
@viral ore some games are CPU intensive
he's using it for gaming xD
the job of the cpu in gaming is to keep the gpu fed
So i recommended him to pay slightly more like 20 bucks more to upgrade the CPU
@viral ore can you rate this build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/38PWcq
Final Final build, + x5 Noctua fans.
RM PSU vs RMX PSU? I say RMX
@silver meteor its good enough
True
@viral ore that depends on the game
Some games are more logic intensive
@silver meteor the build you linked
The CPUs job isn't ONLY keeping the GPU fed
six cores and 12 threads will handle most games fine
it means your pc is fine, i cant see any issues with it, also im not a PSU expert like @cursive wharf
Oh oki
CPU is like the brain of the PC, far as I can tell brain doesn’t feed
HE wanted advice on his PC
in games
Putting an Adjective in front of Fish and 3 numbers after it as your name also guarantees you 300+ FPS on any game
In a game like Stellaris the CPU is usually the choke point cause the game engine is Clogged with too much logic in the late game
Can i be CoolFish420?
ok, so when a PC runs a piece of software, such as a video game, it utilizes the GPU to render the graphics, if the GPU is bottlenecked from a CPU that is unable to perform its part of the tasks effectively to keep up with the rate at which the gpu is able to render frames, the gpu isnt well "fed" data by the cpu
sorry if that was confusing
i didnt mean literally feed lol
@viral ore um, I looked at recent benchmarks with a 2080ti and an i3 vs a 2080ti and an i9, and the difference in gaming was 0-5 FPS, with the i3 occasionally winning, which directly contradicts your point.
rendering uses exactly one core in almost every game
I’ll find links
all other cores do other things
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cpRxgJ better ?
for the game
Core i3 9100F vs Core i9 9900k Test in 9 Games 4K (RTX 2080 Ti)
Motospeed Gaming Mechanical Keyboard - https://www.gearbest.com/keyboards/pp_298472.html?wid=1433363&lkid=55503680
Games :
Forza Horizon 4
Assassin's Creed Odyssey - 01:04
Battlefield 5 - 02:12
HITMAN 2 - 03:27...
@vivid atlas it’s great but you don’t need an NVME
that doesnt disprove anything i said
Rendering is 1 core in DX11, multicore rendering and polishing is more common in newer games
it shows that those games dont utilize more than 4 cores effectively
Yep
Alright thanks
@vivid atlas that build should be just fine
yeahhh
That build is like 600 if you really think about it
monitor doesn't count xD
is 1660 better than the 590?
They seem to pretty equal
pricewise and performance wise no?>
he stepped it back to a 580
yeaaaahhhhhh
@vivid atlas Okay, don't change anything but make the videocard a 1660 LOL
is 550w enough?
I always recommended 650 at least
Idk tho
550w is good enough
550 is enough
watch my stream ;D
I tend to say buy a higher wattage for upgrades though
Grats
1660 is considerably pricier then the 580 though
590 is about the same performance as a 1660 for about $30 less, 580 is a bit lower on the performance rung
Some of the cheaper rx590s i found
on amazon anyways
Could always cross reference with other sites to see which are cheaper
theres a 1660 on newegg for 209 rn
You should've bought parts like a few weeks ago during black friday
Everything was so cheappp
Will a 580 8GB do the job to play at 100FPS High settings at 1080P for FPS games like SIEGE, CSGO...
yep
an rx 470 got me like 120 fps on ultra in siege
Honestly it's more of a
I don't want ro replace my parts
So i get the best bang for my buck
So i don't replace in less than 3 years
Same....
and building new systems
i just bought new ram and put it in ;-;
But im a poor college student
idk why i do this
I definitely don’t want to upgrade within 3 years after buying
also same
I want to stick with what I have for as long as possible
then get the 1660
^
pay a little more now
it really does perform like 30 dolars extra
Yep..
I'd say it performs more like 50+ dollars extra
it is def worth it, even now
@midnight river what are you even asking in build pics? 🤔
That question makes no sense
see the left part of the pc
Can't see it, I'm on mobile and it's burry
Nice
;) you could also try Star Craft 2, the multiplayer is free, and I think the first campaign is also free now
yes, wings of liberty is free
the protoss and zerg campaigns are not
what annoys me with SC2 is i can't just buy the whole game
i have to nickel and dime them with microtransactions
no sorry give me all campaigns and all multiplayer characters for $50 or so, then we'll talk
it's not really p2w because you still would need to level your characters
everyone in the 1v1 rotation at least is typically holding level50 characters
but #gaming
im more of an fps player
Hi
someome help me in the overclocking section
my boot is not working
im gettjng peeeeddddd off
hello guys. what do you think of this build? any suggestions for upgrades? graphics card? i want to make this my gaming computer and buy another one to use mainly for work
thanks in advance for your help
any suggestions for gpu?
what do you game?
mainly csgo, but recently have been playing rainbow six, pubg, cod
but my main game is csgo
For CS GO he could use a 1650S instead
yea but i also want to be able to play other games here and there
@chilly scaffold this is just a rough idea what it can do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5hNTMb89oE
GTX 1650 SUPER Benchmark
New Nvidia GTX 1650 Super has been released on November 22nd.
We tested this new GTX 1650 Super by comparing it with GTX 1650, RX 570, RX 580, RX 590, GTX 1060 GTX 1070, GTX 1660 and GTX 1660 Super.
How will the new Gtx 1650 Super behave? Will it...
1660s is a good matchup.
For that chart reduce the frames by at least 5 for you cause 6700K is far different from a 8600K
i c i c
thanks for your suggestions guys
i think i will go for the 1660
ecks you think the 6700k is good enough or do i need to upgrade?
it will be good enough until the 10th gens i know comes out
when do they come out
ty
before i go @chilly scaffold if your board is able to overclock you can make that CPU last a few more years as well
@eager chasm west europe
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/38PWcq
that’s a good build right? Low settings 1080p recording x264 could I run 180 FPS on Fortnite
Is it my tv or the pc because when I move it is geting FPS drops
Run a userbenchmark and post the link
Seems fine - but could use a quick tune up -
I compared the raw scores to the card averages and they're not actually as low as the percentile may lead you to think, it's just got a low SD.
Ditto for CPU, ssd could maybe benefit from driver fix, firmate update, dfrgui.exe , etc
Hi, Looking to build a PC seems Fry's No longer does Computers. I got a recommendation on Parts.
so its not the pc fault?
X570 Motherboard , AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, DDR4 RAM, GTX 1660Ti was recommended. Thoughts?
if I were to upgrade which part would it be first?
oh, I just realized you have the same ram I do - the team pro dark's? the 14 14 14 31 cl2 kit ?
who me?
Ram and GPU are fantastic - I'd pair them with a x570 /3600 cheap - through 3900x-x560 $325 ish level board. Depend son your preferences, budget etc
Personally, I like intel, I'd go z390 aorus master /9900kf $620 total on sale - or more reasonably the z390 aorus elite /9xxxk - it really varies on sale
Why Intel ? What is the difference?
TL;DR - my preference .
Objectively - AMD's ryzen lineup, especially the 3600 and its recent price drops bring competitoin in some price brackets that intel hasn't seen since core2 or earlier.
The major noticeable differences are clock speeds, per core performance, and if you can use it quick sync
Which will have the better Clock Speed?
intel usually will
The z390 aorus baster is a $220-$280 mobo bought new, works well with 9900k and any OC you're likely to throw at it, can do 3600 16 16 16 38 4x8 b-die no probs
k
Other users run a bit higher like 4133 c18 18 18 42 etc - depends
the answer is it depends greatly on what you are using the computer for as to which side you should go
if you plan only on gaming then intel is the better option. But if you are content creation the AMD will be better for you.

need help with what
This
So I mainly play Fortnite, and I play it competitively. I want a 420-439 dollar GPU and I’m wondering: 2060 vs 5700xt? It’s an NVIDIA optimized game
hmm, well the 5700xt is just the better card
im not sure how much the whole optimization will actually affect it
im sure there are comparisons on youtube
Yeah there are
And they usually say they’re either neck and neck or the 2060S is better
for competitive play, high framerate isnt as important as constant framerate
what were the 1% lows
and .1% lows
i se
see
get the 5700xt then
it will perform better than the 2060s in most instances anyway
Two people say get 2060S
Oh ok
Thanks
Two Votes vs One, I’ll wait for more votes
also, the 2060s is cheaper
How much less is it
ok, so i guess the price diference isnt as big as it was
o my goodness
its cheaper than i remember
tf is hapening
i remember the 2060s being like a little over 300
there are no bad versions of cards
just because its cheapest
there are some instances where they have production issues
but that asrock card is just fine, especially for the price
How does this MB Look? https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145110?Item=9SIA24G9121781
5700XT should be 2070 level of performance, not 2060, even super. Check hardware Unboxed video for a 41 game benchmark
@muted patio that video showed that the 2060S does better in fn
But not by an insanely substantial rate
Is Fortnite ALL you play?
3800X
I doubt Fortnight and Overwatch will use more than 8
Then why is NVENC even better lmao
@silver meteor I have a ryzen 5 3500x and a 1660 ti and I run fortnite on epic settings and hold 144 fps
you'll be right
If you have a lower end CPU, it will offload the processing for the x264 to the GPU
and not impact performance
with a 3800x I don't see that as being needed
YW
Dual intel LAN is so nice. I'm salty my GB has a realtek 2nd port.
Good build? depends on specific stuff, price is okay I guess
240gb ssd seems like too little for me
But I also have like 400gb or so worth of games
box, I'm not too familar with pricing, but 5700xt is usually 400, 3700x 300, so what do you think of pricing?
for a prebuilt, it soudns about right
the XT might struggle a bit in the hi temp dept though
cause reference blower.
just undervolt+oc
Check prices below

ryzen 3 2200g
budget build
Yeah, if you're going integrated that will work.
The other ones I just looked at were all MATC
MATX*
so that motherboard is good for it
I'd say so, ya
anyone want to help me
Im building PC and everything is plugged in and I can turn power on and it turns on but it doesnt boot
there a way to check if a part is broken?
yeah I did
Have you tested your video cable (HTMI/DP)
are roms/emulators safe to download?
usually yea
emulators are legal to download and use, for ROMs to be legal you need to own the game and turn it into a ROM yourself
do not talk about downloading roms here as not only is against this discord's rules, it's against the discord TOS and you can get your account deactivated
Alright Im back here
So I am looking to build a really small pc i think the term was ATX or ITX Spending 600 to 700 only playing csgo
I would to like to try to use this case CYBERPOWERPC Syber SCCW100 White Mini ITX Gaming Case
Ryzen 5 3600 and ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING good combo?
Yes those will work fine together
Just make sure the board says that it's Ryzen 3rd gen or 3000 ready
looks good to go
i find it weird the 3000 ready logo is not in Polish while everything else is
Isn’t the x470 and x570 3000 ready whereas the b450 is 2000 ready but can have 3000 series cpu by upgrading the bios
Hydro some of the boards come with upgraded BIOS
they will have a little sign like that saying they're 3000 ready
Should I get a 2060S instead of 5700xt since Fortnite prefers NVIDIA and since it’s also capable of NVENC
Are there any PC parts whose prices will not go down in 2020?
I think psu's are unlikely to drop
can i just plug my ethernet right into the lan port or do I have to do something special?
my dad wants to know before he starts re-wiring stuff
what do you mean?
he is wondering if I need some sort of I think he said panel or something to get the internet to work
but he admitted his knowlege is kinda outdated but he wanted me to make sure
but I don't even know
Should go from the router/modem to the ethernet port. SImple as that
okay, that's what I was hoping
Just make sure your Ethernet drivers are installed
They should be if you're on WIndows 10
Plug and play then. Are you on WiFi currently?
i dream of having a house where i can put my modem and router in a little cabinet
and put ethernet jacks everywhere
^
I will say my AC1200 WiFi has been fantastic
@final knot
I don't bother with deepcool cases anymore just cause they're a pain to clean
So I want to do a ITX build because I dont have much space i was thinking something like 1660ti w/ i5 76k or something like that
any ideas also I have no clue what would be a good itx case
1000 or so
oh ok youre fine then
what do you think of the fractal design node 202?
go google image it
my internet is being bad
it looks good its slick asf
would you like something thin like that?
where the gpu is paralell with the motherboard
theres another one like that by thermaltake
idr what its called
i have no clue how to install a gpu like that
thats just how the case is laid out
would you just need bridge it too the motherboard
oh okay
I wouldnt mind that
so what cpu fans would even work with that would water cooling even be a option?
the thermaltake core g3 is another one
there are low profile cpu fans
they work fine
watercooling isnt really an option in an itx formfactor for an inexperienced builder
yeah, there are many others
G3 looks nice it looks a little bit bigger too
you can pretty much go on google images and type in mini itx case
and look for one you like
yeah I think im going to go with the G3
thats a good one, because it also supprts motherboards larger than itx, which brings the cost down
is there a better cpu then the i5 76k thats i7 and about the same cost?
btw I am planning to just do light work on it and lots of csgo I need to hold more then 240 frames at all times since I want to run my monitor at 240hz
Really?
okay so that with a 1660
well, it depends on how many cores you need first
Well im might stream in the future but if i have to upgrade down the road that is cool
can you think of any specific programs you will be using?
like blender etc
photoshop?
Streamlabs OBS, CSGO, Minecraft, Photoshop and maybe AE
i think a 6 core processor would be better suited
ok
would you consider AMD, or would you prefer to stick with intel
Why not lol
isnt that cheaper then the i5 76k lol
Dem b450 boards are neat
b450 is like the go to board for ryzen
okay
damn so 1660 would maybe be a 1070
yeah, thats sounds about right
If i am running csgo I sould be fine
Without ray tracing
yeah, csgo isnt hard to run
Csgo is harder on the CPU than the GPU
honestly, with 1000, you probably should have the budget for a 2060 super
5700 non xt maybe?
Idk the budget well
BUT he is considering streaming
Ah didnt see that
so maybe nvidia is still the better choice?
I mean the CPU should be able to handle it
ignore that warning
ok
Because basically all new b450 boards have bios that fit 3rd gen
Unless you buy used or refurb
See if you can get good timing
Heck no 16gb is standard
I have 32gb and thats not a lot around here
16gb at 3600 with CL of 18 or less is ideal
^
But if you can get a good cheap 3200mhz cl16 or cl14, go for it
CL16 is the happy medium
Yep
regardless of latency
Ye
Efficiency doesn't matter that much
yeah, we have some power supply nuts here
You don't have to buy just based off of efficiency ratings
I have been told a few things bout PSUs but I don't really know too much
efficiency and branding are good enough factors for the average buyer to go off of
Lemme find the PSU tier list I look at
so what is a good low profile cpu coller
Stock is good enough on low budget
there is no glass on the case so wouldnt madder
PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 6.4 welcome to the brand new PSU Tier List! Created and maintained by @Princess Luna, @DatTestBench, @Stefan Payne, @GreatMasterAden, @PSUGuru, @Ave with a model o and @LukeSavenije Last Update: 16-12-2019 Tiering of various units is opinion based off r...
matter
Yeah it's not on sale anymore
the CL 18 should be good enough
I saw it on sale for 80 bucks, I mean normal price was 90 bucks I'm remembering
Sassy is the cl18 a cpu fan lol
lmao no its the ram timings
If you need a low profile cooler use the included AMD cooler
there is a cpu cooler by corsair i think would work well
well, hes using the Core G3
Wut
i dont even think the stock will fit
I remember hearing bout using a 3600 lol
no, for the case
Oh the case
No idea da case :p
the thermaltake core G3
Link plz?
wait was i gonna use the r5 5700 instead of the r5 3600?
Stock should fit
its a neat one
Wraith spire is pretty small imo
Yeah, I think stock will work fine
Its not a prism that comes with 3600
i mean airflow wise, im not sure its a great option
Not much other choice in a case that thin. I think it will be OK though
Just checked
The case has 11cm of cooler clearance, the spire is supposed to be 6.9cm
here's a pic with a SPire installed.
Sorry, that's a Prism
SO the spire should have plenty of room
small pic too
Well, can't get a bigger one from Amazon lol
But yea spec wise
Bottom line is, Prism fits and works well so the Spire should be fine
that'll be a great gaming machine
fyi, the Core G3 uses SFX psus
would i be able to throw a water cooler into it Sassy?
240mm for sure
you had the same idea as me lol
the NZXT Kraken is a nice lookin cooler
i use to have it in my old pc
i was dumb and sold it
i was also dumb and bought a 1060 at 600 dollars
cool thanks guys for the time!
watch the swearing please
my bad :C
We all curse like crazy, just gotta get in a good habit of not doing it here 😄
whats with all the trending videos about dell optiplex budget gaming pc
i mean its good but if youre really that broke you shouldnt be gaming
go get you a job
so you can make a nicer one thats more worth your time and money
Does anyone here have any experience with the power color vega 56?
I have some questions about it
Good GPU but hot and power hungry. need 500+ watt PSU to run it.
Yo if anyone needs a build list or needs a computer built I’m your guy
So, I'm thinking of building a workstation for my 15 year old brother. He's been into photoshop and animating lately, but also games a bit. What would be a decent spec list for that around the $800 price range?
ryzen 3600, rx 580
quick estimation and guess from me
Mind DMing it to me? I get off break in 2 mins and won't have free time until I get off around 7:30 to 9
Yup I’m working on it rn
what is the best pc you can build around 700-900
Depends on what it is for, @sullen spoke
gaming
no
Alright
I would go Ryzen 7 2700x bundled with an am4 motherboard from microcenter (last I checked it is 130 for the chip, but 100 bundled with an eligible motherboard), 65-120$ for a microATX motherboard of your preference, 2*8 gigs of 3200 ddr4 RAM for about 60$ on Newegg, 1tb HDD and 512 gb SSD, 650 non-modular PSU for about 45$ including rebate at Newegg, a microATX form factor case of your choice (45-100$), 120mm 3 pack of fans for about 35-40$ on Amazon, and lastly spend all remaining cash on a GPU on sale this Christmas season
I can send links to each part in a little bit once im home on my PC, as to I built this rig
Ok, for newegg-only, I can do my best for links
However, some things are just cheaper elsewhere
yeah lol
My build cost me around 500 after tax with a rx 570, but I paid about 165 for my peripherals through Craigslist, eBay, and bargaining
Darn I just realized I was about 1$ off of 666
Also @sullen spoke PM me later asking for the details of where to buy stuff for the build and I will send links
If I need it I will 👍
You could get a 3 pack of ARGB fans from Rosewill which also includes a controller for the RGB and fan speeds
any particular reason for wanting a 2070 Super? 😮
VII out performs it, especially with the new drivers, and it's currently cheaper
VII is also a lot louder
And hotter
Noise doesn't matter to me personally
the drivers are far better almost a year later, it's great in gaming, not as great as it could be.
it's honestly a decent option if you are in the $500 range while it's down that low
ftw
Also people would prefer to buy new and not used
is there anyone that can help me with a laptop i wanna buy
hope you mean helping you pick one out
yeah
yeah it can probably run cod right
tech ghost, please don't roll the guy
nvm i messaged the newegg service thing
@astral raven what are you looking to play besides cod?
nah not cod i have a laptop im looking at but i just have questiona about it
i dm u
@cold iron The fans are compatible with it
much easier to use the CPU for encoding and not take a hit to performance
but you do you
I'll almost always take CPU encoding over GPU encoding cause the CPU has the headroom to do it usually
$500 does actually put it pretty competitive with its performance
yes but i'm not saving up for one
then you do you, buy the price range you are comfortable with 🙂
i was gonna get a 5700 but i'm gonna probably end up with a vega 64 because used prices are less and they perform similarly to a 5700 with some minor differences
i've looked at a lot of benchmarking pitting them against each other
hey i just built a new pc and it won’t install windows, it will freeze before it can get to the setup can anyone help
the cpu could be overheating
did you install the cpu cooler correctly?
or your windows boot up usb is corrupted
What are your pc specs?
Does it make a loud sound? If so, CPU overheat
Cpu is using a water cooler and is at 32c, my specs are 2080 super, i7 9700k, 16gb ram, 860 evo sata ssd, 970 evo nvme ssd
also what kind of sound
dang so you have a really beefy pc
go into the bios and make sure your cpu is at its rated clock speed and your ram is also
Like just loud af screech
I'd remove the other SATA drive as well and re-do the WIndows boot media
try plugging it into a different usb port
Or that too ^^^^^^^
yeah will try once i finish eating
new pc for christmas and i can’t even get past bios
Oof. for me, hardware is easy, software is not so nice when it doesn't work
also my water cooler will turn off when it freezes but everything else stays on
cpu fan header
There may be one called pump
What motherboard?
Do you have a header called pump
let me get the exact name
You don’t know the name of your motherboard
hey wondering if anyone can help; my PC has been auto restarting a lot lately, randomly, and games crash a lot; sometimes when it restarts it keeps doing that repeatedly and I have to hold power button till it stops. I got some windows error like "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I've already tried a lot of the things and guides to fix these issues; my game drivers are up to date, ive run the RAM Memory diagnostics a few times, checked all my drives for corruption, no virus. I took my CPU out and cleaned the fan, put some new thermal compound on recently (problems were there before that tho), taken the RAM out and put it back in... Like idk what the issue is, nothing seems to fix? I thought it may be my CPU because the CPU is a regular i7 6700 thats used and older and the previous owner also used it for mining. But maybe my RAM? Oe PSU?
Specs for ref: RTX 2070, i7 6700, 16GB DDR4, 650W PSU, Z270 SLi Mobo
No Pump header on that motherboard
yeah no
But the CPU fan shutting off indicates a CPU issue
Any lights on it when it shuts down?
if completely shut down the graphics card has a light and the mobo
oh also two of my case fans turn off
I would check the BIOS and set the CPU fan header to 100% all the time to keep the pump running at max speed
Almost sounds like it overheats and gives up
it’s 850 watt
What cooler is it?
Those have a USB plug and a fan header plug. Both plugged in?
yes both
From the symptoms it sounds like the CPU gets hot and shuts off. If you have thermal paste handy, I'd take it apart and make sure everything is mounted correctly.
Oh, might be getting hot because the fan header isn't set to 100%
Don't forget to do that too to keep the pump speed up
@toxic notch long shot but...take your ram out, blow the slots out and put it back in. Those are typically ram issues
is your ram in the right slots?
Looks like it
you just might have to rebuild the entire thing and make sure everything is plugged in correctly
are you getting the post screen>
?
so like after the post screen it just freezes?
Your motherboard could just be dead
I would also unplug any and all USB devices except the thumb drive. Plug them back in after it starts up. Sounds odd but it's worked before.
Any luck?
ye with x264 you can feel a bit of latency
keeps freezing when i get try to go into windows
can i take a video of what i’m doing
I never feel any FPS hit when using the CPU to encode
depends on the game
so i do f12 when my pc is starting then i select my usb with windows then it starts to load but freezes immediately, when it freezes 2 of my case fans stop spinning but the RGB stay on, also my water cooler completely turns off
then let me say it in more concrete terms I don't take a hit to FPS when I use the CPU to encode
big shock, games don't use all the CPU, there are other cores and plenty of overhead
well you keep thinking that, I'll keep useing it with no negative affects
Just did a sort recording, 70-80 FPS in this town before recording, 70-80 FPS in the town while recording
No problems or drop
no need for you to be a butt about it.
funny enough this game uses all cores at the same time to start with
Sounds like the windows scheduler is doing it job
If there's spare cpu time, it's not hard to configure encoding not to pull down fps.
Assuming there's enough headroom.
it doesnt
I'm saying the game doesn't artificially cap my FPS
lol
odd cause I just used it with a game with uncapped FPS and it didn't drop my FPS, odd
sweet, lets end it here.
you can call me what you want, doesn't change what I know
Anyone got a good build around $1000 usd?
Reason: Bad word usage
lol
I said end it man
wow
wow...
that's unfortunate
Ryoku, when people get like that, just stop the convo.
What was the bad word (since i still can't see it)
f word
it was a threat.
ah ok
and then avoided word filter for b word
thanks buddy
It’s takes two to argue.. if you stop replying it just makes them mad lol
and then threatened
a death threat on me, I'm popular

Theo is mr popular..... cause he never wins anything
Oof
so i do f12 when my pc is starting then i select my usb with windows then it starts to load but freezes immediately, when it freezes 2 of my case fans stop spinning but the RGB stay on, also my water cooler completely turns off
@sharp viper This would be a good starting point: https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/xM7Ycf/great-amd-gamingstreaming-build
For streaming he would have to rely on software instead of hardware
which isn't too bad if you are careful setting it up
decent, a little under value with the CPU, but still a good build 🙂
Only thing I'd change there is the cooler. Maybe a scythe Mugen or something. The 212 isn't quite the cooler it used to be
@eager chasm i was using the front but i tried the back and got the same results
just freezes as soon as it starts loading
Try the SSD instead of the M.2
?
DO the drives show in the BIOS?
Can you boot with a MemTest86 USB drive and test the RAM? Those would be my next steps
oh nice
i like it but im building for the first time rn
Uh
I wouldn't go 2060 unless you're going to be streaming
5700XT is much faster for the same price
@clear acorn
can get a 5700 for $300 rn
Can anyone help me my computer turns on but won’t boot and I checked every individual part and also every cable
Just shows up with orange light on motherboard
I didn’t check the cpu but the cpu error light isn’t on
it sounds like the motherboard
assuming you have correctly checked and reseated everything
Is there a way to definitively check to see if the motherboard doesn’t work?
Did you check the memory
Yeah I checked RAM
how many slots
made sure it was in there perfectly and all that
Well it is 1 and 3, 2 and 4
I did
Also try with 1 stick
what is your board
B450m ds3h
Ya i don't like Gigabyte boards
it always seems cheap i find with the lower models
gotta spend at least like $120 on their boards for good quality
Do I get a new board
maybe
i searched for the orange light and that is just part of the board
do you have all the power cables plugged into your GPU?
Yes
sorry, silly question but it must be asked
I individually checked every cable
All cords are on the motherboard
All are plugged in except useless ones
useless ones?
What CPU are you using
and you just bought that board?
Yes
Dont I just do bios update
You would need a Zen 1 or Zen+ to update it
has nothing to do with gigabutt, they have a lot of 3000 ready boards, just not this one
and that one is not ready for it
What motherboard do I get
You can contact AMD for them to send you a processor for updating it
b450 or above all work
unless the bios is not updated
He can't
with what CPU
Also I can’t update the bios because computer doesn’t output anything
only MSI for B450
Bruh this is what he has https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145083
not all boards have it
gigabyte doesn't have this feature of loading up the BIOS without the CPU
upports AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen/
far as i know
read the supports list
Supports AMD 3rd Gen Ryzen/2nd Gen Ryzen/1st Gen Ryzen / 2nd Gen Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics/1st Gen Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics / Athlon with Radeon Vega Graphics Processors
those support entries are accompanied by BIOS versions
