let me explain
the quest 2 is supposedly even less comfortable than the quest 1, and uses the same audio system, the two largest problems with the quest 1
the ipd adjustment is better than no hardware ipd adjustment, but its not the same level of precision thats on the quest
it gets 2 hours of battery life compared to the quest 1's 3
(not a huge issue)
and to cut cost they removed some infrared leds from the controllers making them less accurate when being tracked

so the final turning points for me were that i already had my steam library of vr games, my headset is more comfortable, it would be a hassle trying to sell that on ebay, and i would still have to pay $130 to make the quest 2 on the same level as my rift s, considering the elite head strap costs $50 and the link cable costs $80

64GB model since I'll mostly be using it with the PC and even if I do use it as a standalone it will only be for one or two games.
I figure the 256GB model is for the people who won't be using it with PC.

I also plan to get some prescription lenses for it because I hate glasses in VR really messes with the immersion.
I spent the $100 extra for the Logitech headphones that come with it because they have the short cord on them that's made to work with the Quest 2.
Which I think will be better than the dumb ear buds I hated those ear buds with the Rift S.
The cable would always fall down by my arms and I would like hit the cable and pull them out of my ears when playing beat saber.

With the Logitech headphones it's a short cord that plugs right into the Quest 2 and they are over ear so they should be super comphy + have way better sound than the ear buds and not have that annoying cord hanging down.

however the quest 2 can be used wirelessly, the controllers are better, and you get access to oculus exclusives and software

you can use lighthouses with steamvr, but the controllers and headset will still be tracked using the Oculus built in cameras.

the lighthouses allow you to use accessories that might not work directly with Oculus, however the accessories would only work in SteamVR.
like the full body trackers, htc controllers, index controllers, etc.

the reasons i recommend the official cable is because then its guaranteed to work so you can complain to oculus if it doesnt, it is 15m long because of the fiber optic cables inside (traditional usb c cables can only go like 10m or 8 i think), and it comes with a little strap specifically designed for the quest 2 to hold the cable in place

The Reverb G2 has weird colors on it's display but the text is so much more clear. On the other hand the Quest 2 has way better colors but the display is a bit more blurred.

if you know how to set up a normal server, its the same steps but download the forge .jar file instead of spigot or vanilla
then in the server directory, there will be another directory called "mods"
drop all the rlcraft mods into there

We have a separate netgeaerouter but sadly we have someone over giving them a place to sleep for a week and a few days so I can’t get downstairs to switch them out

the quest 2 is about double the res of the rift s with 10 more hz refresh rate
audio quality is the same on both (not very good) but both allow you to connect headphones
quest 2 runs on battery, rift s is powered by your pc, so unless youre playing for periods longer than two hours this is a non issue
the quest 2 is gonna be more uncomfortable than the rift s, but the elite strap fixes that issue as a $50 accessory
my point: dont get a rift s
unless u find one used for $250
otherwise, i recommend quest 2 + elite headstrap

Technically, if you're trying to use the Quest 2 for PCVR, then you shouldn't have to worry about battery.
Since you're using your PC, you're basically plugging the Quest 2 into your PC with a USB (preferably C) cable, which should charge your headset as you play.
Or at the very least, the new Oculus Link says it will, allowing you to play without draining the headset's battery.

In all honesty, even though I play on PC, I use a controller in Warzone. I used to get finger cramps as a teen when I played keyboard and mouse.
Also, it helps to have some good teammates too. Especially when you're new to the game, so you don't have any "good guns or loadouts" yet. So your teammates can drop or give you a better gun when they can as well.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to when I can replace my cheap 5 year old $40 combo mouse and keyboard from RedDragon to a more expensive and nicer SteelSeries mechanical keyboard.

Can "downloading" something on one PC, affect the upload/stream on another PC?
My roommate was complaining about a 4 minute delay when she was streaming.
She thinks it's cause I was downloading stuff on my PC.
I think it's cause of the timing. Cable internet, so technically it's shared service with the area, and not a direct service line. And she likes to stream on the weekdays during the afternoons, so right when people are attending online zoom classes.

@fleet anvil consider the bandwidth you have access to as a pool of data. The pipe you are connected to can scale as high as the max speed of your subscription. IF no one else is pulling from the pool that is.
The pool you are pulling from is connected to a even bigger pool at the local central/junction box (this is normally on a "per apartment block" level) However, that pool is NOT big enough to allow everyone to pull at full speed. FAR from it normally. Which is why you will normally feel the internet being "slow" when a lot of people are active on the internet around you.

Cause she was trying to tell me to "coordinate" with her, so I wasn't downloading or anything when she's doing her streams. Which, honestly, I was at work, and I'm not 100% sure, but thought I had turned off my PC that day. Again, not 100% sure. Which, if that was the case, it can't be my fault.
Cause once, just once, I did skip work and called in sick.. And just out of curiousity, I did a speed test.. I still had my 900+ download speed, but my upload dropped down to 4mbps, which is a 90% drop from where it usually is.

however, the upload should not matter (technically) for her delay
it will matter for how fast she can upload a given amount of data
but for delay? no, it should not matter
however, IF you are curious, you could ask her to do a speed test next time she is getting ready to stream
and have her do that for the next 10 times she streams
that will hopefully give you some data to make her actually understand what is going on too :)

Rift production stopped awhile ago, rift s and quest are discontinued now, they are focusing on the quest 2 as their only headset atm, I would think there will still be updates for a bit on the rift s and quest but I’m not sure

If your PC has a USB-C port, I would get the USB-C link instead.
Not 100% sure, but I think USB-C provides more power for charging.
And higher data transfer rates, which should help with using the Quest 2 for PCVR.

For years, I've been using 3K DPI on my cheap mouse. (Paid $40 total for both mouse and keyboard combo from reddragon on Amazon)
I just got a steelseries rival 600 and first time I've had programmable DPI setting.
Not sure it matters either, but I also use a 1440p monitor, and a 1080p monitor on the side. Both 27 inches.
